This story takes place in Coos Bay, Oregon. It’s been 5 years since Hailie Howell saw for the last time her mother and her sister. She lives alone with her father. She built walls around her mind. ‘’No one will ever come in here. No one will be able to fix it. If I can’t by myself, no one can.’’ Everyone knows how broken and desperate Hailie was in the first year of the tragic accident. Everyone took pity of her. They stopped after two years. She should be okay by now, right?
Put on your best smile, good mood and everyone thinks you are back on track. This is what Hailie has been doing for 5 years.
But someone will stop her. Someone will be intrigued in her. Someone will try to fix her. Someone will try to do what people wouldn’t do.
