Niall’s POV

‘’Harry is a bad influence for you!’’ I joked.

‘’I’mma bad boy, yo.’’ Harry tried to mimic an American accent.

Louis, Hailie and I laughed at his attempt.

‘’Well, boys: we have a lab already clean to clean.’’ Hailie said.

Harry and Hailie continued walking while Louis and I took the staircase.

‘’You’re ready for tonight, pal?’’ I asked him.

‘’I’m nervous.’’

‘’You know she wants you, plus you want her. So what can possibly go wrong?’’

‘’You’re right. Everything’s under control.’’ He sighed happily.

‘’Just remember we are all backing you two if anything happens.’’ I tapped his back.

He gave me a warm smile before heading towards his locker. When I arrived at mine, I opened it and start shoveling all my homework in my bag. I threw my bag over my shoulders and closed my locker. Finally, it’s the weekend! I exited the school and found my friends at our usual spot before everyone get on their buses. I joined them.

‘’Ah! Niall! Exactly the person I wanted to see!’’ Perrie said when I entered in the circle. She squeezed me in a hug. Okay, she wants something.

‘’Unusual affection from you equals you want a favor.’’ I joked.

‘’Can you lift us at my house? It will be faster than taking my bus.’’

‘’Is there the word ‘taxi’ on my forehead?’’

‘’Pleeeeeeease?’’ Evelyn, Perrie and Eleanor cooed with puppy eyes.

How am I supposed to say no to that?

‘’Fine.’’ I groaned.

‘’Niall, you are controlled by women.’’ Sam joked.

‘’Let’s go before I change my mind.’’

We said our goodbyes and the girls and me headed to my car. As Eleanor reached the handle of the door of the front seat, Evelyn smacked her hand away.

‘’I’m sitting here.’’

‘’You did not called dibs on in and I was about to-‘’ Eleanor started, annoyed by Evelyn.

‘’I’m calling dibs now.’’

If there is one particular person in the gang that really doesn’t get along with Evelyn, it would be Eleanor. It’s understandable in a way: Evelyn is good friend with Tiffany. And we all know how much El appreciates Tiff.

El sighed heavily and let Evelyn the place.

‘’Childish.’’

‘’At least, I have what I want.’’

Oh, please.

‘’What do you mean by that?’’ El hissed toward Evelyn.

‘’Girls, shut up before I’m getting mad too.’’ Perrie interfered. ‘’I’m extremely happy and I don’t want to change my mood by a stupid fight of yours. Now, will you please enter this car before I kick your asses?’’

I laughed. Perrie is always the one trying to calm down a bit the tension.

‘’Excited about the party, uh?’’ I said while a sat down on the driver seat.

She nodded vigorously her head, a big smile on her lips.

‘’Malik’s effect.’’ El added, shutting the door.

Perrie and El laughed but Evelyn and I remained silent. Her silence was because she wasn’t getting it and me because we’re talking about Zayn. I gripped the wheel tighter.

‘’Perrie, he is not your league.’’ I said, trying to maybe discourage her.

‘’We’ll see.’’ She winked in the mirror.

When everyone was in the car, I turned the key and started the engine. I exited the parking lot and no one was talking. That was a little bit awkward. El or Perrie giggled.

‘’What’s so funny?’’ I asked, my eyes on the road.

‘’It’s just that Eleanor texted me that it could be funny if Hailie an- Ow!’’ Perrie started.

‘’Anow? What the hell is that?’’ Evelyn laughed and turned to see the girls.

‘’Nothing.’’ El retorted too quickly. It was evident she was hiding something.

‘’Come on, pass me the phone.’’ Evelyn extended her arm.

I heard El sigh and mumbled ‘okay’ before Evelyn took the iPhone of Perrie and started reading the text. Soon, Evelyn chuckled and tapped an answer. Before I could have a glimpse of the conversation, she passed back the phone to Perrie. Evelyn was still turned, looking for El and Perrie’s reaction. They started to laugh, tracked by Evelyn.

‘’Girls, please fit me in! I’m lonely over here.’’ I said, breaking my voice like I was desperate to know what was so funny. The truth is, I was kind of desperate to know.

They laugh even more.

‘’Keep your attention on the road, Ni.’’ Perrie added.

We were now stopped in front of Perrie’s house. Just before they detached their seatbelt, I locked the doors.

‘’You’re not leaving this car until you fit me in.’’

‘’You know we can unlock the door by our self?’’ Evelyn said, pointing at her door.

‘’And we’ll never tell you?’’ Eleanor added.

‘’And you will know anyway: if it’s happening.’’ Perrie finished.

‘’I hate you sometimes.’’ I groaned.

‘’We love you too!’’ El and Perrie cooed simultaneously.

I sighed and unlocked the doors. What were they laughing at? What’s funny about Hailie and who? I will know if it’s happening. Happening what? I groaned again: I hated the unknown when everyone else knows. When they were all off the car, I drove back home.
