Niall’s POV

I was waiting outside of the principal’s office, in the secretariat. Hailie texted me to wait for her after the last bell before lunch time. I wonder what she did. She’s not the type of girl getting in trouble.

Because I had nothing to do, I started listening to the conversation between a guy and the secretary.

‘’Yes, I’d like to know if it’s possible.’’ the guy asked.

‘’I need to check, but yes, it could be possible. Can you give me your name, please?’’ said the secretary.

‘’I’m Harry Styles, thanks ma’am.’’

He turned back, and looked at me. This must be the new guy everyone was talking about. I smiled to him, and he smiled back. He walked over to me.

‘’Uh…Do you know where’s the cafeteria?’’ He asked me.

‘’Yeah, you must be the new guy, uh? Would you mind to join my friends and I? It could be a good way for you to introduce yourself. I’m Niall.’’ I said, standing up, putting my hand in front of me.

‘’Yes, thank you. I’m Harry.’’ He replied, shaking it. ‘’ Are you waiting for someone?’’

‘’Yeah, my best friend got in trouble. She texted me to wait for her.’’

As Harry and I started to chat, Hailie finally got out of the office.

‘’Hey, Puffy!’’ I said, hugging her. I’ve known Hailie since elementary school. Younger, she had huge cheeks, so I teased her by nicknaming her ‘Puffy’.

‘’Please, Niall, my stomach’s still sensitive.’’ She complained.

‘’What do you mean, ‘still sensitive’? Tell me, bad ass. What did you do this time?” I said with a wink.

‘’You know I’m not a bad ass! I don’t want to talk about it. It’s super humiliating.’’ She said, blushing.

‘’Don’t be shy, I’m sure Harry wants to know the story too!’’

She frowned, not sure of who I was talking about. She looked over my shoulder and saw Harry.

‘’Oh, hey, Harry. He already knows the story.’’

‘’What? You told him before you told me? I am so offended!’’ I joked.

‘’Actually, I saw it with my own eyes.’’ Harry started. ‘’She asked the teacher-’’

‘’Harry! No! Please!” Hailie begged.

‘’Mate, you have to tell me when she’s not around!’’ I said to Harry.

Hailie hits me playfully. I put my arm on her head. ‘’You’re so small.’’

‘’Oh, stop it!’’ she laughed. ‘’Let’s go eat.’’

Hailie’s POV

We arrived at our usual table. I sat down next to Perrie and in front of Eleanor, my two besties. Since day one of Middle school, I was hanging out with them. I had friends in elementary, but Niall was the only one that went at the same middle school as me. We all clicked together then Will and Evelyn joined us a week after. We bounded a strong friendship –except with Evelyn, it’s a strange case. There was barely any drama -except for Evelyn- in our gang. Louis, Sam and Jayden added in the circle after winter’s break. I was fascinated by how we just loved each other’s, listening to anyone who had something in their minds. How great it sounds, right? You arrived in a complete new place, new environment, new hostility. You’re lost; you don’t know where to go or how to act, because everyone’s judging you. ‘Look at the new kids. They are so small!’ You have maybe one or two acquaintances from your elementary school to hang out with for the first days.

Luckily for me, I had Niall, and we’ve met El and Perrie shortly after the first period. We were no more alone.

My best memories will always be kept in the two first year of Middle school, just before my twelfth birthday where everything turned upside down.

You can never win against life. It has to take away something from you and push you down. Always.

I shoved away my thoughts and went back in reality. Harry sat next to me and Niall in front of Perrie.

‘’Hi guys! This is Harry. Harry, this is Sam, Louis, Eleanor, Evelyn, Perrie and Will.’’ I said, pointing everyone when I called out their names. “Jayden must be in the other part of the cafeteria waiting for his food.’’

‘’Hi…’’ Harry smiled.

‘’Don’t be shy, we won’t eat you. Well, maybe...’’ replied Louis.

Everyone laughed.

‘’I’m not sure if I taste good, mate.’’ Harry chuckled.

‘’Might try it later.’’

‘’Anyway, I’ll go get my meal.’’ I said, leaving the table.

‘’I’m coming with ya.’’ Niall followed me.

We walked to the other section of the cafeteria and I examined the room to find Jayden.

‘’Oy, if you’re searching Jayden, he texted me this morning: he’s sick.’’

I sighed. If Jayden was there, we could have joined him and maybe skip the line. Instead, we placed ourselves at the end of it.

‘’Now, come on, Puffy: I’m your best friend. Since when are you too shy to revealed me things?’’

‘’Meh, even if I don’t tell you, you’ll probably hear about it.’’

‘’Oh, oh, oh! Let me guess! You wrote shit on the board? You killed the teacher. Better: you stripped in front of the class! Damn, I missed the show!’’

My mouth opened wide. ‘’Ni, this is really weird and destabilizing of you to imagine me.. doing.. Kindly reminding you I’m your best friend and you’re not allowed to have rear thoughts of me!’’

‘’Shit, I’ve been discovered!’’

‘’I so not know you!’’ I added, disgusted. Niall couldn’t stop laughing. He knew I was getting uncomfortable with this discussion. He regained his calm before asking me: ‘’Seriously, did you strip…?”

‘’NO, NIALL! For god’s sake, you’re such a pervert! You really think I’m that low?’’ I was starting to get mad.

‘’I’m teasing you, Puffy. I notice ages ago you’re not that type of girl.’’ Niall replied, leading me into a hug. I buried my face in his chest, ashamed of what I did in chemistry. ‘’I’ll go easy on you this week: PMSSSSSSSSS.’’

‘’I’m not even close to be!’’ I smacked my fist in his rib cage, hoping he’ll shut up.

‘’I’m not proud of me, Niall.’’ I sighed and I confessed my story from when I saw Will in the street to the incident in chemistry. At each element of it, I buried more and more in Niall’s chest to cover up my shame from my cheeks. I felt his chest vibrating from his laugh.

‘’Thanks for supporting me here, Niall.’’

‘’Why did you accepted to go? You knew we had classes the next day, right?’’ He pulled me from his hug.

‘’I had a fight with my dad, that’s all.’’

‘’Oh, I see. You need to stop arguing with your father, Puffy. If parties are an escape, you’ll become an alcoholic.’’ He closed his eyes. ‘’I can sense it.’’

‘’Shut up, Niall!’’ I said, hitting him in the stomach. He was right, somehow. I have to stop acting like this with my father.

We finally arrived where we could get our meal. For today, the menu was lasagna or veggie burger. Ugh. I hated both, plus I wasn’t hungry and I didn’t want to vomit again. Niall saw my disgusted look and said:

‘’As your big brother, I recommended you to eat.’’

I laughed, and took a veggie burger plate. We paid for our food, and headed back to our table.

‘’Guys, Jayden skipped school.’’ I announced to everyone.

‘’The first day of school? Why would he?’’ Sam asked.

‘’Don’t know pal, but it’s not weird coming from him.” Niall replied.

I sat down in my previous seat and Niall sat down next to Eleanor. We discussed while eating. Louis had finished, so he stood up and looked over to Eleanor and smiled. Her cheeks changed color to a soft pink. I knew what was happening between these two: it went all summer! After Louis was gone, I leaned on the table, whispering: ‘’Is there something official now?’’ The pink on her cheeks was gone, and she was now showing a sad face. ‘’No… He’s probably not interested…’’

‘’Come on, El.’’

‘’Anyway, I’ll see you guys later’’ El said before standing up and left in a rush. I looked at Perrie, eyes full of questions. Perrie got up, running after her. She turned her head and mouthed ‘’in math.’’ What was that, Eleanor? Harry placed his hand on my shoulder.

‘’Is it too much if I ask you to show me around the school?’’ he questioned me.

‘’Yes, it is.’’ I looked at his face. I bit my hamburger, preventing me from smiling.

‘’Oh… Okay. I-I underst-’’

‘’I’m teasing you Harry! Of course I’ll show you around!’’ I said, releasing my grin.

‘’Hey, hey, hey!’’ shouted Niall. ‘’Where do you think you’re going, uh? Finish your plate. Don’t waste that beautiful burger.’’

Ah, Niall and his love for food… I pushed my tray. ‘’You can have it. No waste.’’

‘’Problem solved.’’ Niall replied, attacking my plate. Harry and I got up.

Like you can see, well, if you saw, I put ALL my characters. Stupid me -.- So I just put the character we saw for so far, and I will update the characters when a new one arrived.
Hope some of you did not see all of them! That would have ruin a bit the story :P
