Chapter Nine - Attack
I stood up and left. Some babysitter.
I walked out of the room and straight into the studio down the hall. I had to decline babysitting. I mean I would love to, but I think I would ‘accidentally’ kill them. I mean we had nothing in common. I like punk rock, they haven't heard of it. I'm a vegetarian, their favorite food is Nando's chicken wings. We couldn't be more of polar opposites.
“Jordan I’m sorry but - Are you okay?” I walked into a crying Jordan, curled up in a ball on the floor.
“He - never- Ashton - why? - here - perfect - giggle - hugs” She was stammering in between sobs. I crouched down beside her and pulled her into a soft hug. I whispered comforting words to her. I was just about done getting her to calm down when Mr.not-the-guy-I-need stolles on in.
“Are you guys okay we heard crying so I came to see if everything was alright,” So far he had said nothing to trigger another attack.
“Niall, you need to leave,”
“Why?” Just leave.
“She is just recovering from a er… moment, and needs to left alone.” I think I did a good job of not just blurting out ‘She obsessed with Ashton Irwin, AKA your friend, and is dieing because she knows she will never meet him.’ Yeah, I did a great job.
Then he did it. Just as he said an understanding ‘okay’ and was turning to leave, he giggled. Not just any giggle. The same fucking giggle that Ashton has. The same giggle that Jordan has listened to a million times. Jordan had another attack and Niall quickly spun around with the ‘shit what did I do’ look on his face. I pointed to the door and went back to comforting Jordan.
Niall’s POV
I walked out of there confused as hell. One moment she seems fine, the next I giggle and she starts balling her eyes out. Something was wrong with Jordan, and we need to find out what it is so we can help. We have been researching her ever since Harry brought it up, but have found nothing. Nothing. How can she do such a good job of hiding her past and any other important information about herself? HOW? How ever she does it, I hope we find a slip up soon.
Then it hit me. Her room. We need to search her room. I broke into a run down the hall, yanked the door open and nearly slammed it closed.
“Start searching, “ I told the boys as I opened the closet doors. Liam grabbed my shoulder and turned me to face him.
“Niall, You need to calm down and stop breaking rules.”
“What rules?” Shit we had rules.
“Do you not remember the six rules she gave us on our first day?”
“Nope,” Oh god.
“Rule one. Don't touch her stuff. Rule two. Don't touch her food. Rule three. Don't disturb her when she is practicing or recording. Rule four. Don't ask about her past. Rule five. Don't try and lure Tiger out. And finally, rule six. Treat her how you want her to treat you.”
How did Liam remember all that. Like props to him. Never mind that, I need-we need to find out more about her.
“Liam,” I looked him dead in the eyes, “I know you're a real life Hermione, but even she broke a couple rules for the greater good.” It was mean, but true.
I turned back to the closet. It was so organized. The shirts in one area, pants in another. Even I could figure out where anything would go. There was a shelf about mid-way up. I started moving clothes out of the way. Then I saw it, the most helpful thing to our research.
Her diary.
