All Is Not As It Seems (Harry Styles Fanfiction)

The next day something different happened. I got to school and my eyes widened as saw police all around the area. They were turning students away. I quickly ran up, a rush of emotions inside of me. What had happened? I ran up to the police, stopping one man to demand what had happened.

The cop looked grim as he was about to tell me go leave. After checking if there were any other people around, pulled out my agent badge from inside my bag, hidden in a pocket that looked just like the bags material.

He stiffened when he saw it. I demanded again, straitening up “What happened?”

He said seriously, not asking any questions “Mrs Williamson. Ruth Williamson has been murdered. She was shot within the school grounds, last night”

Suddenly Niall came running up to be from behind. Looking desperate “Whats going on?”
I told him quickly, before the policemen did.

Niall paled but his expression turned blank, not giving anything away. I hid a smile, perfect agent.

“Can you give us permission to enter the crime scene?” I asked the cop.

He looked a little hesitant but his eyes went to our badges that Niall had brought out then reluctantly he nodded “Sure, go in”

He called out to us as we entered the school “Don’t contaminate the evidence! She's in the headmasters office”

Niall snorted when he was out of hearing range “Bet the headmaster will love that when he comes to work”

“Niall” I warned him, shaking my head, he always did have a dark sense of humour.

Niall rolled his eyes at me and said smirking “What? She’s dead, she won’t mind”

I pulled a face “You’re disgusting”

Niall said, giving me a playful nudge as we arrived the crime scene "But you love it"

I opened the headmasters door, then wrinkled my nose as the smell of blood hit me. Then I saw her, she was lying against the headmasters chair. Her eyes blank but her expression looked terrified. I saw the shot was in the head..must have been up close I thought grimly.

Niall said “At least we have one mystery on her hands, her office right way down the other end of school, what was she doing here?”

We both looked around a bit then I noticed something, something lying in front of my nose.
A phone was on the floor, next to a few things the teacher must of knocked on the floor when she fell.

Though the phone was not a wireless phone, a wire came of it, going to a plug, well it should of come to a plug but the wire was cut of, literally, so clean, like someone had cut it with scissors…

The same cop that we had talked to peaked in, he was about to ask us something but I wouldn’t allow him to, practically waving the cut wires of the phone in front of his face.
“Answer me this, its very important, at night, when all the students have gone and the teachers are meant to of gone home, if you needed a phone, which phone doesn’t stop working?” I asked him.

The cop said, scratching his head “Its usually the headmasters office but-“

Niall got what I was asking and said hurriedly “And this is common knowledge? Right? For most teachers?”

The cop stammered “Yes, I-”

Niall asked me, ignoring the cop “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”

I walked out of the crime scene, Niall following me “That someone killed her because she knew, or saw something they didn’t want her to talk about? She tried to tell someone on the phone that she knew would still be working at night” I then added grimly “But she was to late”

Niall agreed, looking grim like me.

Niall asked urgently “You reckon it was the spy?”

“Maybe” I said softly, thinking, what if..?

“Maybe…"
