Through The Dark(Niall Horan)
Nap Time Is Over
I was sat on the bed, aimlessly flipping through channels. I glanced down at the sleeping beauty next to me. Her hair was over her face, her mouth open. I brushed her hair out of her face, revealing a pretty decent cut on her cheek and a very purple eye. She was still beautiful. I hated seeing her in pain.
She was so lovely. Every little thing about her, I loved. Her green eyes that sparkled when she smiled, her perfectly straight teeth that made me extremely self conscious when I first met her. I loved her extremely high pitched laugh, and her freakishly girly sneezes. I loved how she snorted if you made her laugh hard enough. I loved how red her face got if you tickled her in the right places. I loved how peaceful she looked when she slept.
I know, I shouldn't feel this way about my best friend, but I do. She was beautiful, smart, funny. She was far from perfect, but she was perfect for me. I think everyone noticed it too, except her. Even her father knew. He pulled me aside before he passed, making me promise to take care of her. Now look where we are. She was laying in my bed, battered and broken. How did I let this happen?
I heard a click and then the door opened. I looked over to see Harry and his girlfriend Alis walk through the door.
“Where is she?!” Alis practically yelled, looking around.
“Shhh!!!” I sighed and pointed to her. “She's sleeping.”
“Oh...sorry. How is she doing?” Alis asked, making herself comfortable on Harry's lap.
“She says she's fine...but I know better.” I looked down at her again. “I think she'll be okay though.”
Alis nodded. “I can't believe this happened to her. What a fucking twat. Like who does that? And what kind of mother just lets it happen?” She shook her head, beginning to ramble in Welsh.
Harry patted her arm. “Simmer down, Watkins.”
“Would all of you just shut the fuck up?” Teagan huffed sitting up and going to the bathroom.
Wonderful, they've awoken the beast. “Good job, Alis.”
“It's not like she wasn't going to wake up in a shitty mood anyways, Niall.” Alis spat back at me.
I stuck my tongue out and turned to see Teagan standing against the door frame of the bathroom. “I don't have any clothes.” was all she said.
Alis stood up. “I'll go get you something from my room, then we can go shopping!”
Teagan nodded. “Thanks Al...Harry.” She gave each of them a small smile as they left.
I went through my wallet and pulled out my credit card, going over and handing it to her. “Go ahead and get whatever you need. I've got to go do some interviews soon, so I'll let you have the room so you and Alis can get ready and have girl time or whatever.”
Teagan laughed and hugged me. “Thank you, Niall.”
I smiled and squeezed her once before letting go. “Anything for you.”
Not long after Niall left, Alis came knocking. I opened the door and there she was standing with her arms piled up almost over her head. I moved out of the way as she waddled into the room and threw everything in her arms onto the bed. “Phew!” She laughed, “I almost didn't think I could make it.”
I chuckled. “Did you bring your entire suitcase over here?” Alis was my best girl friend. I was so glad she started dating Harry, I needed another girl in my life. She was also one of the most amazing people I had ever met.
“We're going shopping, in New York.” She gave me one of her 'do you know what that means?' looks. “Besides, I figured I'd help you cover up that mess your step dad gave you.”
Oh Alis. “Can I at least shower first?”
“Oh God yes, please do. I can smell you from here.” Alis joked.
I shook my head and went towards the bathroom. “I missed you too, Alis.”
I undressed and showered. Alis put the clothes she brought for me on the counter in the bathroom. A pair of gray skinny jeans, a white tank top with a navy blue jumper to go on top. She knew me all too well. I walked out of the bathroom to see her setting her makeup up on the desk.
She turned to look at me. “Sit.” She pointed to the chair and I sat down.
“Just try not to make me look like Snooki with all of that foundation okay?” I sighed, knowing it would take a whole bottle to cover up the deep purple bruise around my eye.
Alis gasped. “Don't you have any faith in me at all?” She put her hand over her heart. “I am hurt.”
I laughed. “You know what I mean, Alis. Just hurry up so we can go shopping.”
“You don't have to tell me twice!” Alis laughed and began doing her best to cover up the mess that was my face.
Twenty minutes and a lot of “Ows!” later, she was finished. I had to admit, the girl did good. You could barely see the bruise around my eye. The cut on my cheek however, was very visible, but also easier to lie about. I did a few last minute checks on my makeup and pulled a beanie on top of my head. Who knew New York was no different than London when it came to rain in April?
Basically a filler chapter when it comes to Teagan's POV, but it worked out for showing Niall's feelings for the first time.
As always, I hope you enjoyed!
