They Don't Know About Us

Chapter 14

*Justice's P.O.V*
I met Sophia at the elevator. She smiled at me and pressed the down button.
“Where do you want to go?” She asked.
I shrugged, “Anywhere is fine with me.”
“Yeah, but I know nothing about American restaurants.” Sophia pointed out.
I chuckled, “I know nothing about LA restaurants. We'll be able to find something.” The doors slid open and we stepped into the elevator. It was kind of strange being out with this girl who I had only conversed with a few times.
“Liam and I have a bet.” She suddenly spoke causing me to look at her. I cocked my head curiously. “He thinks that we will be fine going out and I think that we'll end up calling one of them for help within an hour.”
“I don't think so. We're not the important ones so to speak.” I commented as the elevator landed and we stepped out into the hotel lobby. We were able to get out of the hotel and to the taxi. After much speculation and debate we agreed on Italian. “This heat is crazy.” I whined fanning myself with my hand.
Sophia nodded, “It's never this hot in England. I'm sticking to the seat!” The male taxi driver glanced in the rear view mirror at us. We kept up small conversation until we arrived at the restaurant. Side by side we entered and smiled when the hostess led us to a table for two. “I'm so glad we're doing this.”
“I know right!” I agreed quickly. “I was worried about being stuck in the hotel while Harry was busy working.”
“I wouldn't have made it. There's nothing to do besides watch the telly.” Sophia added.
“And there's nothing on the TV!” We both laughed before picking up the menus off of the table and looking them over. A hush fell over our table as we decided what we wanted to eat. When the waiter came to take our drink orders, I had narrowed my choices down to three selections. When he returned with our drinks, I had finally made up my mind.
“Are you ready to order?” He asked politely waiting on our response. Sophia and I exchanged a look before nodding. We placed our orders and conversed until our food arrived. Even while eating we managed to keep up conversation. Everything was surprisingly going well until a dark haired pre-teen girl approached our table. Our chattered died off as we noticed her curious smile and eager eyes.
“My friend says that you're Sophia Smith and Justice Neloms, you know Liam and Harry's girlfriends, but I said that I don't think you are. So she told me to come over here and ask and now here I am. So are you?” The words rapidly left her mouth. It was nearly impossible to keep up.
“Uh, yeah, that's us.” I answered warily. This was my first time encountering something like this.
The girl squealed and looked back over her shoulder. “Harley it's them!” She yelled before turning back to us. “I don't know if you guys will do this, but can we get a picture with you? Eleanor does it and Danielle used to.” She asked throwing a glance towards Sophia. “I'm Nicole by the way.”
“I'm not sure...” Sophia trailed off. Confusion was written across her face.
“Please,” Nicole and Harley begged.
“Why us?” I asked not understanding her request.
Harley gave a genuine smile. “We love you. You're both so pretty and you make the guys happy.” Her words brought smiles to both of our faces.
“One picture won't hurt, right?” I asked rising from my seat. What harm could taking one picture have? The girls clapped and squealed excitedly as Sophia stood as well. A passing waitress offered to take the picture for us as we gathered together and posed.
“Thank you,” the first girl smiled looking at the picture on her phone.
“No, thank you.” Sophia shook her head.
“You were so nice to us.” I added. They walked away happily chattering as we took our seats. “Well that was interesting.” I spoke as I reached for my glass of lemon water.
Sophia nodded, “I didn't expect that to happen.” I could agree. That was definitely unexpected and strange. “Should we pay and leave?”
I nodded, “Yeah sounds good.” We looked around for our waiter to ask for the check. When he finally noticed it brought to us, we heard excited voices bubbling from the entrance of the restaurant.
“There they are.” A blonde girl pointed at us excitedly. Sophia and I exchanged wide eyed looks. The girls and her three friends quickly made their way over to us. “Can we get a picture?” She asked excitedly.
“Wh-where... Where did you come from?” I asked now confused. “How did you find us?”
The girls shrugged holding out her hand, “There's a picture on Instagram.” On her screen was a picture of us posing with Harley and Nicole. They had tagged the location.
“Oh no,” Sophia muttered. We quickly took a picture with four girls. Afterward we paid hoping to get out of the restaurant before anyone else showed up. Our plan didn't work. By the time we had paid, left a tip, and stood to leave there was a crowd building outside. “Maybe we should call-”
I cut her off. “Surely we can walk out without too much trouble.” I suggested continuing towards the door. The crowd size had increased and it was clear that they were restless. “Well fuck.”
“I'm calling Liam.” Sophia decided as I pulled out my own cell phone to text Harry. There was no way we were getting out of here by ourselves.
Me: So... Sophia and I have a problem.
Harry: What happened?
I looked up at the mass of people wondering how to explain it to him. Taking a chance I walked closer to the door only to see everyone suddenly press forward as just the thought that I was coming outside. My eyes widened in fear as I recorded a quick snippet of the chaos and sent it to Harry.
Harry: That is a problem. Stay inside and wait. I'll be there as soon as possible.
Me: No! If you show up it'll get worse.
Harry: … I'll send someone just stay inside please.
Me: Okay.
Sliding the phone in back pocket I turned to look at Sophia. She walked to me with her eyes focused on the crowd outside.
“Liam said he'll send someone.” She informed me.
“Harry said to stay inside.” I informed her looking around the restaurant. Other customers were looking outside in wonder as the staff attempted to pretend as if nothing was happening. I pulled my cell phone back up tapping the camera icon. “Picture?” Sophia smiled and moved closer. I held the iPhone out in front of us. The click was heard and I pulled the phone down to review the picture. It was cute so we agreed to keep it. I snapped a picture of the crowd outside as well. It wasn't extremely large like it would be if a celebrity was here, but it was about sixty of them and only two of us.
We waited no more than ten minutes before a familiar body guard was seen making his way through to the restaurant. We stood expectantly as he entered.
“Bloody girls,” he muttered shaking his head. “Alright ladies I was sent to rescue you.”
“Thanks.” We smiled as we linked arms while Mark led the way outside. Immediately we were attacked. Bodies pressed against us, questions were shouted, and demands were made. I kept my head down and eyes focused on Mark. If we lost sight of him this would not turn out well. Eventually we made it to the waiting black SUV. Mark opened the door nearly growling when a few girls tried to jump in. Sophia and I climbed inside breathing a sigh of relief when the door closed.
“Next time we should listen just bring someone.” She said while running a hand through her hair.
I scuffed, “Who said I was coming out in this craziness again?” She laughed as the car pulled away and we headed back to the hotel. Of course there were fans outside of the hotel but Mark got us inside without too much struggle. As soon as the elevator landed on our floor Harry and Liam were waiting.
“I was right.” Harry exclaimed while Liam pulled Sophia into a hug.
“It wasn't that bad.” I lied looking away.
Harry folded his arms, “Really?” He wore a humored expression. Oh no.
“No, it was horrible.” I confessed looking down in shame. I was the worse liar in history. I always fessed up. Harry chuckled pulling me into a hug.
“I really thought you would be fine.” Liam spoke.
“Did you really?” Harry asked looking at him astonishment. If anyone should have seen this coming, it should have been Liam. He nodded.
“You were wrong.” Sophia pointed out.
“Well I know that now.” We all laughed as we walked down the hall. Sophia and I told them about our encounter with their fans. We even reenacted the ones who had approached us.

“And if you see Selena you have to call me because I need to establish a friendship before we even think about marriage.” Justice rattled while I stood by the door with an amused expression.
“Marriage?” I asked cocking my head in curiosity. We were leaving for the event soon and I should have been meeting everyone else at the lift.
She gave me a blank expression. “Um, duh, I am madly in love with her. Of course I'm willing to be Mrs. Selena Gomez.” A burst of laughter escaped my lips as my imaginative girlfriend rolled her eyes and folded her arms. “Shouldn't you be walking a red carpet or something?” Justice asked quickly changing the subject.
I chuckled, “I'm about to go.” I assured her. “I wish you were coming with me.” I added.
Justice sighed crossing folding her legs underneath her as she sat in the center of the bed. “I do too. I could meet Selena.” Her eyes lightened with excitement momentarily before she contained herself. “I mean, I could spend time with you while you work.” She quickly recovered.
“No you didn't.” I shook my head knowing her too well.
“No I didn't.” Justice agreed shaking her head as well. It was amazing how many of her traits I had figured out in the three months we had known each other. “But I'll be watching on TV.”
“Yeah, I've got to go.” I said in a rush while turning to the door.
“If you walk out that door without even attempting to give me a kiss, we are going to have some serious problems.” Justice's threat stopped me. She now stood with her arms folded and her eyebrows drawn together. With a sly expression I walked to her placing my hands carefully on my sides and smirking. She eyed me waiting.
“I'll see you tonight.” I finally spoke before pecking her lips and leaving the room. A grin spread across my face ear to ear. It was what typically happened these days even if I only got to hear her voice.
