Chapter 8
Previously on Effie's Destiny:
“Liam… Liam… You’re hurting me” she shrieked almost shouted.
Realising what he had done Liam let go of her wrist, put his trousers back and rushed to the main door. He only stopped when he felt a soft hand on his back.
“Don’t go. I’m sorry I shouldn’t have” whispered Effie.
“Don’t… I should have warned you. Only the guys know I can’t stand being touched there. Sorry Effie” he turned facing the young girl. She was soothing and scaring him at the same time. He had never opened to a girl since his girlfriend’s death. He is quite happy with one night stands or short, meaningless stories. This girl had a weird power on him. No wonder why Louis was head over heel for her.
“Come… Let me tell you embarrassing things about Louis.” She took his hand leading him to the sofa. Liam smiled mesmerised by this strong, independent and beautiful girl. Tonight had only made his fascination go stronger…

Effie’s loft
When Effie woke up she was in her bed under her warm covers. She was confused because she remembered falling asleep on her sofa with Liam and now she’s in her bed and no sign of Liam. She definitely wasn’t drunk last night so how come she doesn’t remember going to her bed? Her phone buzzed on her bedside table telling her she has received a text. “your favourite coach”. Duh?
From your favourite coach:
Rise and shine sleepy head. I’ll be waiting for you at 2pm. Your favourite trainer x
Effie guessed it was Liam but she still couldn’t fill in the blanks. Getting out of her bed she went to her kitchen and started preparing some coffee. While she was waiting for it she took her phone and hit “reply”.
From Effie:
I’ll be there but you owe me some explanations x

What do you need to know?
From Effie:
How did you get my phone number? How did I end up in my bed when I fell asleep on my couch?
From your favourite coach:
1: you left your phone near me, too tempting. Hope you like my new nickname ;) 2: I took you to your bed before leaving this morning. We slept together by the way JAs Effie was taking a sip of her now ready coffee she almost chocked on it reading the end.
From Effie:
What????

We slept together.
From Effie:
Impossible. I told you I wouldn’t.
From your favourite coach:
We slept together – as in sleeping not having sex you crazy thing.
Effie let out a huge sigh of relief. Not that she would have minded but for several reasons she was quite relieved. To start with she just met him, he is her boxing coach, he is Louis’ best friend and she doesn’t remember him taking her to her bed, she likes to remember if she has sex with a man.
From Effie:
You idiot. I burnt my tongue because of you.
From your favourite coach:
Poor little thing. Be ready to suffer today. You have been drinking today!!
From Effie:
2 small glasses only. You did drink too!
From your favourite coach:
But I AM the coach so I can and you are my trainee. Louis says hi by the way.
Was he already at the studio? Effie checked the time, it was 9am. They talked until 3am, he must be exhausted. She always works on little sleeping hours so she’s fine but she doesn’t know about Liam.
From Effie:
That’s so unfair. Do I get to kick Harry’s ass today? Say hi back to Louis.
From your favourite coach:
He’s badly hangover, he would destroy you today so no. You are stuck with me.
From Effie:
I thought you didn’t fight?!
From your favourite coach:
Who talked about fighting? You’re on gloves duty today J
Even if Liam couldn’t hear her she groaned unhappy. She’s to be so sore tonight if he makes her do that.
From Effie:
I hate you. You are a party pooper Payne.
From your favourite coach:
My pleasure Elisabeth Una Parks.
From Effie:
How do you know my full name?
From your favourite coach:
Ah ah
From Effie:
I give up. I’m going to get ready for a run then some food. I’ll see you at 2.
From your favourite coach:
Easy on the running. Go get a green smoothie at the Lounge opposite the studio. It will do you some good for this afternoon. On me J
From Effie:
I take it back, you rock Payne!

I never doubted my awesomeness
Smiling and shaking her head the young girl finished her coffee, washed her cup and as she went to clean her lounge area she noticed Liam had already done it. She made a mental note to thank him later. Once it was all tidy she went to her bedroom to change, slipping a pair of shorts, a sports bra, her running shoes and her Ipod that she wrapped around her biceps. It was sunny again outside so she could run for a good hour if possible. She didn’t bother taking any food knowing she would not be able to run very well with food in her stomach.
One hour and 30 minutes later Effie was back to her flat. She has run longer than planned but felt amazing. She grabbed a bottle of water and a banana in her fridge. Putting a toast in the toaster she started cutting the banana in slices. Her stomach was growling and she could no longer ignore it. If Liam was going to kick her ass she needed energy and nothing better than a brown toast with a banana.

Effie read the text and shook her head smiling.
From Effie
How was Harry? X
From Ella:
Busted. We just talked. He was too drunk :s
Effie laughed. Ella had just confirmed what Liam said earlier.
From Effie:
Did Liam give you my number?
From Ella:
Actually no. I asked Lou. Are you coming later?
From Effie:
Yep. 2pm. Liam is going to kick my ass.
From Ella:
I bet you’ll enjoy it naughty girl ;)
From Effie:
I wish but my ass might not like this type of kicking.
From Ella:
You’ll see he’ll go easy on you.
From Effie:
Not so sure but I just have to wait and see.
From Ella:
Trust me J I have my break at 1pm, wanna meet?
From Effie:
Actually I was ordered to get a green smoothie at Niall’s shop so I can meet you there?
From Ella:
Fab. See you later alligator x
God this girl is crazy. Effie still couldn’t believe how welcoming she had been. They had a common point: being girls in this group but still she met her the day before. Ever since she had lost all her weight Effie was finding hard to make friends. Girls were often either jealous or suspicious she might steal their boyfriends or both. Boys were only interesting in getting in her knickers. Even Louis when we think about it. But this time it was different, they had sport as a passion and it was the perfect neutral environment to bond.
Finishing her toast she went to take a long shower letting her body soak the heat. As the weather was nice and because she was meeting Ella before her training she decided to dress with normal clothes and put her gym stuff in a bag. As a consequence she selected a lovely black skirt with a coral tank tip and sandals. Who would have thought that Effie Parks would wear skirts one day. She remembered that time she freaked out after her mum had bought her dresses but now she has embraced this style and loves dressing as girly as possible. Not bothering to put make up she checked the time: 12pm. She had one hour to kill. That’s when she saw her drawing pad. She was going to be back at uni in less than a week so it was the perfect opportunity to get back on track. Grabbing her pad she went to one of her spare room that she had turned into an office/sewing room and did what she knows best.
