As Effie was taking a sip of her now ready coffee she almost chocked on it reading the end.

Impossible. I told you I wouldn’t.

We slept together – as in sleeping not having sex you crazy thing.

The Lounge, Niall’s smoothie bar

“Sorry I’m late. My lesson finished late and Harry wanted me to talk to a new customer. I could have killed him” almost screamed Ella as she rushed to Effie who was sat waiting for her smoothie. “The usual Nialler” she told the blond boy behind the bar. He nodded before preparing a salad and a red berry smoothie. “You’re not eating?”

“I’m waiting for my smoothie. I had a very late breakfast” replied Effie who had ordered a green smoothie like Liam asked her to. “Do you want me to kick Harry’s ass? Because I could easily do it you know!?”

“I know babe, I know. He is aware of that and not too happy about it. I threatened him when I left” laughed the blond girl as Niall came with their orders.

“I’ll put your lunch on Harry’s tab Ella” said Niall with a wink.

“You are an angel. Thank you”.

“Anytime. Effie, on Harry’s too?”

“No. On Liam’s actually. He’s going to kick my ass for drinking yesterday when he was the one serving me so it’s just a fair payback.”

“Liam’s ass kicking sessions are painful. I suffered way too many of them for my liking. Good thing Lou is now in charge of my training” laughed Niall making his Irish accent stand out.

“How come Liam was supervising your fight yesterday then?” asked Effie out of curiosity.

“Oh… He likes to check from time to time” stuttered Niall. You could tell he was holding something back and when Effie saw Ella’s look it confirmed her doubts. She decided not to try to find out the truth. She might know it later, when she knows them more.

“Oh alright” she simply said with a smile.

“Enjoy girls and good luck Effie, you’re going to need it” said Niall going back to the counter.

“Now I’m scared!” said the brunette turning to Ella who was now eating her salad.

“Don’t worry you will be just fine babe. If not I will beat him up” she replied showing her fists and laughing.

“Right. Well… I feel so much better now…not” Effie mocked Ella’s fists.

“I’m very flexible so that you know”.

“Not that I would doubt that. However you Not sure the fists will work though. You will have to work your flexibility on Harry.” Ella chocked on her smoothie making her cough loudly sending Effie to a fit of laughter. She had hit a nerve and she was going to play on it.

“Damn girl! I barely know you but you are just like Louis. I’m gonna love you if you continue!”

“Who do you think taught him everything? Of course if you ask him he will swear he is the sass master but we all know I’m the boss” joked the brunette taking a sip of her smoothie. God it was good.

“Ah ah ah I have no doubts about that. So tell me more about you I heard you are quite special” Ella giggled when she say Effie’s big surprised eyes.

“Who said…? Oh whatever… Well… I’m new to London, I’m from Doncaster but I spent the last two years of my life in Newcastle in the north. I’m in my third year of fashion studies specialising in underwear design…”

“Right up my alley. We are going to get on just fine.” Ella high fived Effie with a big smile. “I now understand your accent. You are a Geordie… like Perrie!”

“No no I’m not. I just lived in Newcastle for two years. Be careful they wouldn’t agree with you, you are only a Geordie if you were born there. I just picked up their accent” corrected Effie. It wasn’t important but she remembered her university friends going mental about that. She didn’t quite get the deal but she just went along with it finding it funnier than anything else.

“Alright alright. So underwear… No other clothing?” continued Ella.

“Hey girls!! Niall can I have a green smoothie please?”

“Perrie! We were just talking about you Effie used to live in Newcastle!”said Ella greeting her friend with a hug.

“No way! Where about? God I miss it there even if I love London” Perrie quickly hugged Effie. She looked really pretty, she was wearing a little blue summer dress.

“I had a flat on Quayside. I was studying fashion at university. I’m here to do my third year.”

“Wow cool. That explains your style. I loved your dress yesterday and that necklace was divine!”

“Thank you. So Liam said you are a nurse. That’s really cool. Are you working today?” Effie was curious to get to know that two girls. They were so friendly and very funny by the look of it.

“Nope. I have the day off. I just dropped Zayn for his training with Louis. He will be done in an hour I think.” Niall brought her smoothie. “Ni, Zayn said he will meet you at 10 at the club tonight. Make sure you’re on time.”

“Uh… Yeah… No worries” said Niall clearly not comfortable in front of Effie. Now that was definitely odd.

“What’s his deal?” asked Perrie when he left.

“He’s just very tired” answered Ella who gave a knowing look to Perrie. Effie ignored it but now she was curious about this whole deal.

“So Effie, you and Liam uh?!” Ella and Perrie were experts at changing subjects and even better at mentioning Liam randomly.

“What’s wrong with you girls? He took me home, we talked and that’s it. He says I’m a mystery and fascinating” said Effie with a smile.

“Oh come on girl! Don’t you get it? He thinks you are mysterious and fascinating…” said Perrie.

“And? I’m a girl, I’m boxing, I nearly kicked Harry’s ass I’ve lost more than 110 points in less than 2 years. No wonder why I’m fascinating”. Effie knew there wasn’t any attraction, just curiosity. Liam wants to know more but that’s it. She wouldn’t let anything happen, not when her training is more important and she seems to have found the perfect coach.

“If you say so. We know the boy and we haven’t seen him like this since…” realising she might have said too much Ella suddenly shut up and finished eating her salad.

“Since his girlfriend’s got killed? He told me girls. I think he is just curious about my story and I don’t want to ruin a possible good friendship and partnership.” Ella and Perrie looked at the brunette shocked. Liam had never told anybody apart from them. They haven’t had new members in their group since Louis, 2 years ago and even then Liam didn’t tell him, Harry did. Maybe Liam felt he could trust her and just told her. They smiled and moved on from the awkward conversation.

“It’s almost quarter to 2 Effie. We might need to go, I have a class at 2:15” said Ella starting to stand up. “Per, you coming with us?”

“Yes why not. I haven’t seen Zayn train in a while. We need to do this again soon” said the nurse pointing at them three girls.

“Definitely, I see shopping. You, miss Effie, will be our advisor. You don’t have the choice by the way” smiled Ella. The 3 girls giggled before getting their stuff. Perrie paid for her smoothie and met the girls outside before making their way to the studio.
