I have the same problem. My notifications nearly never show up. On the other hand it also says I have 12 notifications but I don't have a single one. They should fix the problem.

Oh my gosh yes. Oh my toolbar it says I have 4 alerts. But when I click on alerts, it says I don't have any. I hate that! And you're right, they seriously need to fix it.
