i've been a long time fiction reader, short term commenter and i read about all this drama months ago but i can't believe someone would dog you like that. how bloody rude!

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. At the time, I was beyond anger. I've cooled now. But to see something I created being published in someone else's name is sickening.

Yeah, I agree on that one. Directioner's were roosting her on Twitter a few weeks ago about it and stuff. They were also talking about how After should have stayed a fanfiction, which I agree.

I agree with you. That's all I have to say. People who don't are fucking idiots if they support her stories and the messages behind them. I don't support any kind of abuse period. Fanfictions should stay fanfictions.

That is exactly all she cares about. She's money hungry big time. A true author writes to entertain their readers, not for money or the spotlight.

I agree with you, but she should have based the story off of not the boys, but created characters that she has came up with by herself. She used the boys on purpose to get more reads and fame.

I don't care what or who it's about, I really don't think fan fiction needs to be published and made into a book >.> I love me some Guns N Roses fics but I don't really want to go to a Books A Million and pick up a collection of GNR based fics XD I'll keep that to the Internet. The only legit fan fiction made into a story I've read is Del James's Without You. His character Mane is based off of Axl Rose but they're real life friends

I agree with you all the way. Books can be fictional with made up characters. That is how most books are. No celebrity should have been involved in her books, period. Fanfictions need to stay fanfictions, any kind.

I hope no teenage boys are abusive like that. If so, they need to see a counselor right awau. Sorry, but no relationship should be like that. I know people who have committed suicide over abusive relationships. It's very serious.

I mean obviously when you write you have some idealistic person in your head and you give them qualities people you're familiar with have. I love Axl Rose-the dude has bipolar disorder. So in My Novel I'm Never Going To Write I gave my bad guy bipolar disorder and a couple other mental issues ;P did I make him an angry ginger who beats his girlfriends and host charity parties for sick kids? No he's a blood Mage who's bat shit crazy and mass murders people to seek vengeance for his girlfriend. Ah fantasy books.

It's funny because not_any_maryjane is writing a fanfiction exactly about this, how Harrys fanfictions, like After, have an influence on his image and his reputation. I'm sure you've read it, because it's very popular on this site. People might want to think fiction doesn't have a consequence. It has, especially when teens are the target and they use Harry to attract readers to crappy/toxic stories they sell as true love. But Harrys management knows they can't charge against fanfiction because it's a powerful way to get publicity for free. It's a risk but it's a two-way agreement. Too bad she stole your idea, but what could you expect from someone's who's using Harrys fame to get money?

I'm sure not everyone read my story, my friend, and certainly not everybody who started to do it gets the point of bringing a Fan Fiction's writer. Most people don't expect what I wrote, as Ph.D. defenses are not Fan Fiction material. I'm glad to get my point across though :) Fan Fiction tends to be all about bad boys and Mary Sues. That's what people want to read because that's what they tend to want in real life. Too bad life is nothing like Fan Fiction. Bad boys don't become good when they find love. They usually end up in prison. But I guess to realise that is everybody's journey to the real world, to get over Disney's expectations ;)
