Chapter 12: Campfire bonding
Harry’s POV
“I got a great tan yesterday.” Sage smiled looking down at her body as she got dressed in our tent.
“You look hot.” I said as my eyes wandered over her body.
“Whatever.” She chuckled while shaking her head.
She bent over to dig in her bag which made her naturally curly hair fall off her shoulder. I smiled at her and finished tying my running shoes before standing up again. She walked over to me and started putting sunblock on me.
“I’m so ready to hike here.” She whispered while rubbing the sunblock on my back.
“Me too.” I moaned as she massaged my muscles.
Sage’s POV
“I’m actually ready to go home. My body hurts so bad.” Louis complained while we sat around the campfire.
“Mine too. Let’s take each other home.” I looked down at him as his head rested in my lap.
“Only one more night.” He sighed looking across the fire at Liam, Zayn and Harry who were attempting to make s’mores. “I worry about them because they don’t know how to make s’mores.” He laughed.
“I do too.” I laughed running my fingers over the edge of his beanie that covered his disheveled hair. “Can I ask you something Lou?”
“Of course.”
“Out of all of us here, who do you see yourself being old with?” It wasn’t exactly how I wanted to ask it but it made sense.
“I don’t know if I understood that but I think I did. I can see my older self laughing and joking with Harry. He’s the one person that can make me feel better no matter what because he knows me better than anyone else.” That showed me just how close they were, I’m used to them being really close but that really showed me.
“I heard my name?” Harry interrupted our conversation.
“Yep you did but we weren’t talking to you.” Louis had so much sass that it was hard not to laugh at his smartass remarks.
“Wow, okay boobear I understand.” Harry acted hurt but I knew he really wasn’t.
“Aww, I’m sorry Hazz.” Louis stood up quickly and jogged over to Harry before sitting down on his lap. “I love you Harry.”
“I love you too Louis.” Harry laughed while they hugged each other.
“I just lost my boyfriend and my leg warmer. Cool.” I sighed making them stop laughing.
“I’m here for you!” Liam was the first person to me.
“Aww thanks Batman.” I laughed as he rested his head in my lap gently.
“You're welcome Robin, I’m here for you even when everybody else leaves.” He whispered so only I could hear him.
“Thank you, I’m here for you too.” I rubbed his forehead and looked across the fire at Louis and Harry who were huddling together.
