Always the Bestfriend

You’re in your dressing room, you just finished getting ready and were lounging around looking for snacks to calm your nerves. “Not one bag of chips. Damn it.”You say to yourself. Suddenly, you hear a knock on your dressing room door. You look in the mirror to see if you were presentable. You were wearing a black strapless sequined dress, that was kind of short to be honest and showed your body’s curves in ways you were sure you never got to back when you were a Disney star. Not that you had any curves whatsoever back then. Your hair was done so that they had bombshell curls in them, and you were wearing a very seductive looking shade of red lipstick.

You were snapped back into reality when Jake, your bodyguard, asked if you would want to see your guests. “Bunch of boys out here asking if they could wish you goodluck, should i let them in?” You hear voices of the boys from One Direction from outside the door.
“Yes of course, let them in.” You smile, this would be good for the nerves and if you were being honest you were excited about seeing them again. It was always nice to talk to someone your age, especially since after Superhero in Training ended it seems like you were always only surrounded by adults these days. And of course it didn’t hurt that the boys were cute as well.

“Wow, so this is what it looks like after 3 years of superhero training” Louis’ reference to your old TV show got you and the other boys laughing.

“I hope you mean that as a compliment” you say with a smile

“Oh definitely, aint that right Niall?” Louis replies

You notice Niall was staring at you the whole time and was caught off guard by Louis’ question. “Lou’s right, Y/N. You look absolutely stunning” he says with his thick irish accent you found quite endearing. He was blushing which you found even more adorable.

“Thank you, boys. You’re not looking bad yourselves.” It was nice to see them dressed up for their performance with their boyish charm in tact and you notice they were quite jumpy so you offer them a goodluck.

“You’re going to do great, boys. They’re going to love you. I hear you’re going to be a fan favorite”

“Thanks Y/N. You really think so? To be honest we’re going out of our minds here worrying about tonight. I’m struggling with timing as well” Zayn replies.

“Definitely. I mean you guys are my favorites already.” You say encouragingly. “Don’t worry about the nerves, it comes with every performance. It’s good sometimes, you can channel that into something positive and give the best show you can.”
The boys visibly calm down at your comment and flash their adorable smiles at you.

“Will you be watching?” Harry asks in a hopeful tone.

“Oh, for sure.” You smile.

You and the boys say your goodbyes for now as you start warming up for your number, and them for their performance.

You sing the final few lyrics to your song and you hear the crowd explode with cheer and applause. You listen to the judges congratulate you and praise your performance. Simon, who knew you from before your Disney career back when you were auditioning for supporting roles in movies as a child actress, even commented “You know what Y/N, I’ve known you for quite a while now, and I couldn’t be anymore prouder than I am of you. We all know it’s a difficult transition, but I am glad you are making the right choices. Well done!”

After your performance, you change into something a bit more casual and make your way to your seat behind the judges’ table. You were excited to watch all the performances, but again you already knew you were going to be rooting for One Direction this season.
Finally it was time for the boys’ performance. You hear the X Factor announcer introduce them and the first melody to Viva La Vida played. “Wow, i love this song.” you think to yourself.

“Never an honest word, but that was when I ruled the world” Liam sang the final lyrics to their song

It was now time for judges to comment on their performance. It was a bit rocky towards the end but you’re glad they finished strong, and the judges seemed to agree. “The next big boyband.” You smile to yourself.

After the show, you went backstage to talk to Simon some more. You caught up with each other’s lives and he again congratulated you for a job well done. Out of the corner of your eye, you see the boys with their families celebrating. You decide to go over there and congratulate them as well.

“Congratulations boys! Told you they were going to love you” you say.

The boys hugged you all at the same time, and you joined their celebration. They introduced you to their families, and you found out Louis and Harry’s sisters were fans of yours as well. They took turns taking pictures with you, and ofcourse at the end you had your picture taken with the boys before saying your goodbyes and hugging each one of them.

The boys were saying their goodbyes to their families when you get a text from your manager, “Dinner with Simon and others tonight. Up for it?” “Another ‘adult’ dinner” you sigh to yourself, but ofcourse who were you to decline. Not like you knew anyone here besides Simon and the lot to have dinner with, you were just about to hit send on your phone replying a confirmation when an idea struck. You change your reply from “Sure.” to “Sure. Bringing some friends as well, will that be okay?” When Chris, your manager, replied that it’d be fine you decide to go with your out of the blue idea and make your back to the boys.

Their families had just gone and they were about to go back to where the contestants were staying for the duration of the competition. Harry spotted you and started to walk towards you

“Hey! Back so soon?” Harry grinned.

“Yeah, I was wondering if you boys might be hungry. A bunch of us are going to dinner and are probably going out after that? Interested in taking the night off?” You smile.
The boys exchanged excited looks and agreed to a night out with you.
