TWO GHOSTS

Chapter Six / Dance With Me Instead. (FINAL PART)

There was no need to dress up. You chose a casual outfit of a (flannel / tank top) matching with (black / washed out blue) skinny jeans and topped it all off with (converse / flats). You brushed out your hair before walking out the room. Harry was wearing a solar system black jumper, styling his hair in the middle of the living room. You smiled lightly as you walked toward him, "I like your jumper."

"Thanks, you wouldn't believe how much it cost." He chuckled. Harry's eyes scanned you, "You won't be cold?"

"We're going to be inside, I don't think so." You chuckled as he smirked. Harry said with a warm grin, "If you get cold, I'll let your wear my jumper."

A knock on the door alerted you two. You and Harry walked toward the door, opening it. Tyler asked, "Ready?" You took a quick glance. He was wearing a blue buttoned shirt, which wasn't buttoned up all the way and dark jeans. He had let his long curls rest on his shoulders. Tyler gestured you and Harry, "C'mon, we'll catch our death out here. The car's warm." Tyler casually held your hand, leading you down the steps. Harry watched before lowering his head and following behind.

Tyler led you in the front seat. Harry sat behind the driver's seat, just so he can view you.

Tyler drove as he spoke to you, "Do you remember the last party we went to?"

"You were so drunk you threw up on the carpet. I felt so bad for the owner who would have to clean it up." You laughed, filling the car. Tyler laughed with you, his nose scrunched up and a huge smile escaping him. You were too busy talking to Tyler, you didn't see Harry who somberly looked at you two. His fingers dancing on his lips, watching you smile. He looked away, staring out the window. He gave a weak sigh, and unwillingly had no choice but to hear you and Tyler recall memories Harry wasn't a part of.

You all finally made it. Just by parking outside the house, the music was blaring and lights were flashing from the inside.

You all walked out the car, entering the home. Tyler greeted the owner, hugging him. Your body hit strangers, making you feel uncomfortable. You could've sworn you only looked away for a second, and boom, Tyler disappeared in the crowd. He was your lifeline and he was gone. Before your heart started to race, Harry pulled you in by your waist. He said into your ear so you could hear him over the music, "I'm here (Y/N), it's okay." Your body begun to relax.

Harry was the one to lead you out of the tough crowd, taking you into the kitchen where less people were. You were backed up into a corner, but Harry stood in front of you.

You felt safe again.

He looked around, "I'm not sure where Tyler ran off to...does he always run off?"

Tyler's weaknesses included: art, parties, and the adrenaline of taking risks. So yes, he did often leave you strayed before finding you again.

You shrugged, "It's been a while, I guess I forgot he tends to."

Harry frowned, "You should speak up about it. It's rude to leave you at a party, and frightening." He spotted alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks on the counter, "You thirsty?"

"Parched." You said, watching him make his way to the counter. You quickly said before he could pour you some juice, "Alcohol is fine."

Harry hesitated to put down the juice, but eventually changed the drink. He handed you the cup. As you drank, Harry said, "If you get drunk, I'm right here--you know that right?" He watched you nod with the cup up to your lips. Harry smiled, "Okay." He admired you and with soft words said, "I'll make sure you don't make a fool of yourself too. I remember how you sang to a crowd with such confidence even if you knew how tone deaf you are."

You giggled, "You recorded it and showed me the next morning--it was terrible!"

"Lesson learned, right?" Harry laughed. His nose scrunched up just as Tyler's did. Harry glanced to the living room, "(Y/N), want to dance?"

You can feel the liquor kick in, "Sure."

Harry smiled. He took your hand and lead you into the living room with everyone else who drunkenly danced. Harry's hand rested on your hips, stirring you. Your arms rested over his shoulders, his forehead pressed against yours. It felt intense, sexual. You were smiling a lot as Harry spun you gently, his hands moving to your lower back. You moved your hands so your fingers could dig into his hair. Harry's eyes locked into yours. He was staring at you as you moved your hips close against him. Harry smiled lovingly to you. Harry leaned in his lips to your ear, "You feel amazing, babe--"

"Dance with me instead." Tyler grabbed your hand, reeling you away from Harry.

You caught a glimpse of the two dangerously making eye contact with a stern look.

Tyler's hands moved onto your waist, reeling you against his body. The music trembled through your body. You suddenly asked him, "Why do you always leave me during a party?"

Tyler looked at you, "Do I?"

You rolled your eyes.

Tyler smiled a bit, "Sorry, I didn't think you cared." He said, "I won't leave you again, I'm sorry." He knew you weren't easy to forgive. Tyler added in, "I just really like partying, you know that. I get lost into my own world when the music's loud." He stopped dancing, "Are you made at me?"

"How could I be?" You say softly.

Tyler teased, "So should we kiss and forgive?"

You snickered, "You're so lame."

"You know, we never did talk about the last time I did that to you...we just kind of forgot about it."

"I never forgot about it. It just never came up." You say, lowering your head.

"Well...how you feel?" His words sounded nervous.

You still didn't know. If you liked him back, you afraid to say.

You jokingly said, "Drunk."

Tyler didn't smile, but he nodded.

You let him go, "You go ahead and enjoy yourself, okay? We'll meet up later." You left Tyler, walking back to Harry who stood by the kitchen.

Tyler didn't reply, he walked off.

As the night went on, you weren't sure how many refills you had. All you knew was that you couldn't stand up straight anymore, your head became fuzzy, and your words slurred. Harry mumbled words toward you, but you didn't pay attention. He led you onto the couch, setting you to lay down. All you heard from Harry's mouth before he left was, "Stay...couch...water."

You weren't tired, you weren't going to stay. Your mentality was fucked up, so you got up from the couch and walked past the crowd. You spotted Tyler from a distance, so you stumbled over. Before you could call his name, another figure bumped you against the wall. A strange man around your age backed you against the wall. He smelt of cigarettes and whiskey. Even if you were drunk, it reeked. His words brushed against your ear, "Where you heading sweetheart?" His words made you tremble.

You words skipped, "Harry--water for--me." You tried moving past him, but he nudged you back.

His breathe was strong, "C'mon, don't be such a prude. Show me something."

You waved your arm, shaking your head, "Imma go outside..."

"God you're pretty." A creepy snickered escaped him, making you breath harder from fear.

His figure was pulled back abruptly. You looked up, catching Harry shoving him away. He said with a harsh tone, "Don't you dare speak to her like that."

Tyler seemed to have heard Harry because he rushed past the crowd, catching you against the wall on the brink of tears. He quickly looked over to the culprit. Tyler stood by Harry, facing the stranger. Tyler argued, "Did you fucking touch her?"

The stranger rolled his eyes, "You're giving me shit for hitting on a broad who is purposely wearing that outfit just to be noticed?"

Harry and Tyler looked at each other.

As if they read each other's minds, Harry crossed his arms across his chest and allowed Tyler to walk over and swing a fist against the man's jaw, knocking him onto the floor with a groan. Tyler shook his hand before spitting onto him. As Tyler made sure he was down, Harry walked by your side and led you out the front door. Tyler followed behind, taking a final sip of his cup before tossing it onto the lawn.

Tyler handed Harry the car keys. Harry sat in the driver's seat, watching Tyler put you in the backseat. Harry took off his jumper before leaning over, covering you with it. Tyler sat down in the passenger seat.

You snuggled against the jumper before shutting your eyes. You weren't asleep, but your eye lids were heavy. Even if so, you can still feel the engine running and the twins talking.

Harry said to Tyler, "You shouldn't have let her come."

Tyler whispered agressively, "You're saying it's my fault? Weren't you watching over her?"

"Quiet down, she's sleeping."

Sure you were.

Harry added in, "I was taking care of her while you left her. If you were there with me, one of could've stayed by her side. She was drunk, she wasn't going to listen and stay."

Tyler sounded annoyed, "Whatever."

After a moment of silence, Harry said, "It's both our faults, we both know that."

You wanted to argue "no, it isn't. I should've listened." and "you two were on each other's side back there, why not now?" but your body was drained, your lips couldn't move.

Tyler said to Harry, "I saw the way you were looking at her, touching her when you danced with her. You like her, don't you?"

"I do." Harry simply said.

Tyler replied, "Why now? Why all of a sudden?"

"I've always liked her. I just admitted it recently."

"I like her too."

"Then we have a problem." Harry said.

Tyler scoffed, "Why do you always do this to me? You're always taking everything from me. Your mum's favorite twin, you have a bright future, and now you're taking the one thing that could make me feel happy?"

"You're fucking ridiculous. You're no good for her." Harry said harshly, "You do stupid shit, you arsle. You jumped off buildings, got chased by police for tagging a building--"

"It was art."

"It was vandalism."

Tyler said with a stern voice, "That's another thing, you don't understand anything I do. You hate my paintings, you hate the way I make myself feel alive--"

"I hate it because to make yourself feel alive, you get in trouble with the law. Your art is great, Tyler but the way you present is mental."

Tyler sounded more angry, "You don't get it. You and mum never understood." His voice was rising, "She gets it. The way she looks at my art, the way her breath is taken away makes me feel alive--more alive than any mental stunt I've ever pulled. I may not be good for her, but she sure as hell is good for me."

Harry was quiet.

When the car came to a stop, Tyler was dropped off. You knew he left because it was silent. Harry's forehead rested on the steering wheel. He looked at you and whispered, "I'm sorry about tonight...you may be good for him, but you deserve better. I don't want you tangled into his mess...(Y/N)...you are everything to me. I might be falling for you." You convinced yourself he knew you were awake, but he scoffed, "If only I could tell you that when you're conscience."

He sighed, "Let's you get you home."

Ugh, this is soo hard. Harry feels like home. He's warm, a sense of familiarity and warmth. The person that's been right under your nose all this time. But Tyler is exciting, butterfly inducing, like a first crush. He's the guy you know you should probably stay away from but want to know everything about. After this chapter I would say Harry but that school dance ordeal was hella messed up. I know I'd still be angry about it all those years later. Tyler is always there when Harry isn't which is sweet but I think he's more of an after thought to her(me) which will probably cause problems later on. It's like she's asking him to fill H's shoes when he can't be there which is a pretty lofty request and probably makes him feel even worse. Harry could very well be selfish, manipulative in expressing his feelings and Tyler could be genuine. Who knows. I can't say either of them is the better twin at this point. I think we should get to know more about Tyler first. I really wish this sibling rivalry between Harry and Tyler would end though because this "I'm the better twin" stuff is making it hard to choose!
