Changing My Life

Amy's POV
Tonight's the first concert I will perform at. I'm a bit nervous having to handle a crowd. I was lucky at the X factor when the music just started and then I left the stage after one song. Now I have to interact with fans. What will they think of me ? I have clearly gotten hate on social media so I'm scared to face 1D fans who claim that I stole Liam from them and ruined his life with a child.
I'm getting ready to go to rehearsals this morning. I got dressed in some jeans and a shirt and got Emily ready. I packed her some toys and a coloring book just in case she gets bored. We took off. It was 10am and Liam had woken up early because he had rehearsals before me. Mine starts at 11 but I wanted to watch the boys first.
We made our way to the lobby, Mark took us to the arena. I love watching Niall's Instagram videos where he says 'Where are we going today Mark ?' It's funnier in Niall's accent. 1D's crew is very nice and friendly. They seem to get along with Emily and me considering we met them this week. They're the boys second family.
We found the boys in the middle of singing 'Infinity'. Me and Emily sat in front row watching them. When they saw us they waved and of course Emily screamed 'Hi Daddy and uncles' it was so loud considering it's an empty arena, it echoed. They chuckled but finished the song.
Emily loves watching them perform or listening to their music. Whenever she couldn't sleep one of the boys would sing to her. I haven't done it yet because she hasn't asked me. I don't mind though, she likes their voices. I don't blame her because I do too. I find comfort in their voices, I always have.
Liam sang to me to sleep last time and I slept like a baby. His voice is so warm and loving. I always try to sleep with headphones when I didn't have him and couldn't sleep but having him sing to me in person while holding me felt ... different. Good different. I forget all my worries and focus on his voice, you can hear love and passion.
I was snapped out of my thoughts by Emily,
"Mommy can I have Elmo and Cuddles please, I want them to see daddy and uncles." She has been dying down the baby talk lately, which is great but kinda sucks cause I found it adorable. She still has a cute baby voice though and has difficulty pronouncing some 'r' words but she's improving. Me and Liam discussed cutting her habit of sucking her thumb because it's creating a bruise on her thumb plus we don't want her to have crooked teeth. It's cute when she does it though.
"Here you go" I said after grabbing her stuffed toys from her bag. We are going to try pacifiers to see if we can get her to stop the habit of sucking her thumb. Soon enough we will get rid of that too. But I doubt that it will be easy.
"Hey Ams, I'll watch her you go rehearse"
"Thanks Ni" I gave him Emily and pecked them both on the forehead before skipping off towards my manager and choreographer so see the list of songs for tonight.
"Hey Amy, here are your numbers for tonight what do you think ? Anything you don't like or don't feel comfortable with just tell me and we'll change it. Once you confirm it we will notify the band." He said giving me a reassuring smile.
I took the paper he handed me and scanned it.

I loved the songs, they're all my type. I have a choreography for most of them and I guess I will just sing normally for the rest. The only thing on mind now is how to interact with the fans.
"I love the songs, but there's something on my mind I'm going to talk to Simon about it."
"Okay, can't you tell me ? That's what I'm here for you know. To help." I gave in and told him.
"Well you can start off by introducing yourself, then you can express your love for the song you will be performing. Come on let's practice now." I nodded and went on stage after being handed a mic. Alex went to the seats and started talking to me.
"Okay Amy, lets try it. Go back and walk on stage and just enter and wave." I did as told and stopped where he pointed.
"Okay now introduce yourself and the song and express a little bit of how you feel about it."
"Umm okay, Hi I'm Amy and I will be singing a few songs for you tonight. First one is 'In Case'. It's the song I auditioned with and first recorded. I feel very confident with it I hope you like it." I said and Alex clapped and smiled.
"See you got it, now pretend you sang that and move on to 'For The Love Of A Daughter.'" He said.
"Okay, umm. For the next song I'm going to sing 'For The Love Of A Daughter'. Demi Lovato is my favourite female singer and she's also my idol. Her songs are amazing and I'm going to be singing a few of them today, hope you like it."
"Good good. See you got it. Think you'll manage ?" I nodded shrugging. "Okay, rehearse the songs and go over choreography and you should be good." He said, I nodded again and the dancers joined me on stage. We rehearsed exactly how the concert will go with me introducing each song. It went well.
For lunch we went to Nando's and then went back to the hotel room and hung out a bit before the concert. I put Emily and Freddie down for a nap while we were playing truth or dare.
"Okay Niall, truth or dare ?" I asked.
"Truth."
"Okay, be really honest about this one." He nodded. "Which is better Nando's or my cooking."
"I have to say Ams you cook a mean dish." I blushed. Wow. I thanked him and moved on.
"Okay Niall your turn." Louis said. "Okay Harry truth or dare ?"
"Dare" Niall smirked, these boys are really crazy. So far they have pranked the hotel staff and did dumb stuff like trying to scream bloody murder while having there faces stuffed with marshmallows.
"I dare you to prank call Mark, saying Amy is sick and can't perform." Oh no. I don't want any trouble.
Surely enough Harry dialed Mark.
"Heeeeeeeeeey Markey this is Lou. Yes Lou Teasdale. I'm calling to say that Amy is sick and can't perform tonight. Oopsey Daisy. Girly stuff can't say more. Tihihiii Bye Markey Poo Love you." He said in a high pitche voice. He hung up after we heard, 'HARRRYYYYYYY'. We were all laughing uncontrollably and surprisingly enough Harry kept a straight face. I have to say being on that movie got him some acting skills.
"Okay Harry your turn." I said. "Liam, truth or dare ?" "Truth" "How do you think you are managing being a boyfriend and a father at the same time ?" "I think I'm doing pretty good if I do say so myself. Emily seems happy and Amy hasn't broken up with me yet, despite forgetting her birthday and almost drowning her." I laughed when he said that. He's so sweet that he keeps bringing them up. I really don't mind.
"Awe babe, stop beating yourself up for those. I told you I forgive you." He smiled and I pecked his lips.
"Okay love birds, Liam your turn" Louis said causing me to blush.
"Okay Louis truth or dare ?" "Dare" "I dare you to run around the stage shirtless for the last two songs tonight." "Okay" Louis said shrugging as if he didn't mind.
"Okay Amy truth or dare ?" I decided to risk it since I took truth like 5 times already plus I wonder what they will make me do. "Dare" I got a bunch of ooooohhh she's brave and I rolled my eyes. "Okay Amy since you took the challenge, I dare you to go one day without talking to Liam you can only look at him, no texting, no hugging nothing." Okay what the fuck just happened. "But, no fair." I whined trying to get out of it. "Uh Uh Uh, you picked dare now stick with it." I pouted and sat on Liam's lap. "Fine, when does it start ?" "Right now, now off of him woman." I pouted at Liam and blew me a kiss which I pretended to catch. "That's more like punishment rather than a dare lou, you're really low." "Okay, okay if you really can't get enough of each other, I dare you to scream I love Liam's ass on stage tonight before closing your leg on the show." I was shocked. "Better than the other one, yay now I can talk to Liam." I jumped on his lap again and kissed him. Of course Louis had to interrupt. "PDA" We groaned and pouted. "you're mean" I said pointing at him like a 2 year old.
Soon enough we had to leave for soundcheck and then getting ready for the show.
We made it to the lobby where Mark was waiting for us.
"Hey Amy how are you feeling ?" I looked at him confused then blushed remembering Harry's dare.
"I'm good how are you ?" He laughed.
"Good good, Lou called saying you were sick." Mark said laughing but glaring at Harry as well.
"Oh sush it Markey poo, It was girley stuff I told ya. Ooopsey Daisy." Harry said in his woman voice again. We all cracked up laughing even Mark and soon enough even Harry, even Emily laughed.
"Do it again uncle Harry." She said through laughs.
"It's Aunty Harriet sweety." He said] flicking his hair behind him like a sassy woman.
We were laughing the whole ride to the arena.
The boys were doing sound check, Freddie was napping and I was in my dressing room with Emily.
"Okay Emily let's do this." I said grabbing her hand as she sat on my lap. I put a pencil in her hand and I grabbed hers and I lead her hand to write a 1. "That's 1. Now can you do it on your own ?" She nodded and drew an almost straight line. " Good, do it again." She did as I told her and did it better then her first attempt. "Good job, now lets do 2" I picked her hand again and scribbled 2. Then repeated the same process until number 10. "Good job Emily, I'm proud of you. You're a smart girl." "Thank you mommy." She hugged me. "Tomorrow we'll do letters." "Otay mommy, Can I show daddy ?" She asked picking up her paper. "Sure, let me give you a sticker first." "Yay" She cheered and then picked a smiley sticker.
Liam and the boys came in the dressing room and she ran in his arms. "Daddy look, I did numbers." Liam gave her a surprised gasp and so did the boys. "You are a smart girl, princess. Well done." The boys told her 'good job' as she showed them the paper. She was telling them that we are going to do letters tomorrow. I love how excited she got. "I'm proud of you princess, let's get a picture. Amy come here !" He said wanting me to join in on the selfie. Emily held up her paper sitting on Liam's lap as we all smiled at the picture.
My phone dinged as I got a mention. 'Learning numbers with@Amy_Rodriguez #proud parents.' I liked it and re tweeted it saying '#proud parents with @LiamPayne. #goodjobEmily.' Soon enough many people liked the photo and were commenting. I posed for another photo with Liam and one of me alone saying 'preparing for the first show of the tour #excited' Truth is I was nervous and Liam noticed.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and whispered "You'll do great babe, you got this far you can make it further. I believe in you." I turned to face him and kissed him. "Thanks Liam, I'm just nervous about the fans you know ? I got hate before, what if they hate the fact that I'm intruding on your show. They waited this long to see you and they'll have to see me first. Apart from the fact that and I quote 'stole you and ruined your life with a child'. I'm just scared to face them you know ?"
"Look at me babe, Fuck what haters say. Haters are gonna hate, it's their 'job'. Don't give a damn what they say. I have you, not them. They're just jealous. I chose you and no else. You are a great mother. You didn't ruin my life with Emily. If anything you made it better. And if I recall I was the one who suggested adopting her. You didn't steal me from anyone, I was the one who asked you out. But you are the one who stole my heart." He always knows what to say. Damn it. God I love him.
"Thanks Liam, I love you"
"I love you too."
After that I was called for sound check. It went great, it was just a boring process. I took off to find Ashley after that and we started with make up and hair after choosing my outfit.
Me and Ashley had decided on my look, for performing I always go for black, gold and white outfits and smoky eyes for make up. It will be kinda my signature look. Then for popular events I would go a little colorful, like pink and white and gold. But never bright colors either black or light colors. I never like to draw attention so bright colors are not my thing.
My hair was in a pony tail and I had smoky eyes for makeup. Before I knew it I was done.
"You look beautiful." Liam said from behind me. I turned and hugged him. "You know I love you right ?" I nodded and kissed him. Once they were done with makeup and stuff it was time for me to go on stage.
"I will be watching the whole time, no need to be nervous. Look at me if it helps calm you down. They will love you I know it." I hugged him and the boys. They wished me luck and I kissed Emily and Liam. Before I knew it I was given a mic and heard my name being called out.
"Good evening L.A." I shouted in the mic. "My name is Amy and I will be entertaining you with a couple of songs tonight. First one is called 'In Case'. It's one of my personal favorites and decided to start with it tonight because it's the first song I ever recorded and also the songs which I auditioned with. I hope you like it." The music started and the lights dimmed with a spotlight shining on me. I felt a little insecure because I hate being the center of attention. But what do I expect ? I'm performing. I quickly shook that thought out of my mind and got lost in the music.
The audience was amazing, everyone was singing along.
"For my next song I'm going to be singing 'For The Love Of A Daughter'. Demi Lovato is my idol and I love her music. I will be singing a couple of her songs tonight. I hope you like it."
Again the audience interacted with me while I made my way down the isle of the stage to the very front. I waved to a couple of people and they fan-girled hard making me smile proudly. I guess I have fans since I released my album of cover versions and my performance since the X factor. Maybe the thousands of followers I got on twitter where not all because of dating Liam.
"Okay, now we are going to take it up a notch and do a fun song. I hope you like this one, it's called 'Hit The Lights' by the amazing and very talented Selena Gomez."
That was a fun song to sing, everyone jumped around and sang along and had a blast. I waved to a couple more people and took a few photos from the stage with fans once the song was over. They were really nice. I had a couple of glares probably Liam fans who loath the fact that I have him, but luckily remembering Liam's advice and getting lost in the music helped me shrug it off.
After a couple of songs it was about to be over. "Okay this is the last song for tonight, then I leave you with the wonderful One Direction." They cheered loud and hard when I mentioned them. I don't blame them though because I'm the one keeping them from seeing them. I'm surprised they didn't push me out of the way so that they get to see them. But I guess I put up a show so. "This one is called 'Lion Heart'" I sang it with all the energy I had left running up and down the isle of the stage and making sure to wave to everyone possible.
"Before I go, I have to say something because I was dared by the one and only Louis The Tommo Tomlinson." The crowed laughed as I screamed 'I love Liam's ass'. "I will get you later Tomlinson but I guess you will see my revenge for him and treat for you at the end of their concert because Liam gave him a nice dare." The crowed screamed and I laughed. "Thank you so much, I love you all. Good night L.A. Enjoy the rest of the show" I waved, the lights dimmed and I made my way back stage.
Liam hugged me and everyone said I did great. "Yeah I have to admit, it felt great" The boys got mics and I took Emily from Liam. "Oh and Tomlinson" He turned facing me before leaving for the stage " I will get my payback" He laughed and they got out as 'What makes you beautiful' started playing. The crowd was wild. Before the last two songs Liam smirked at me and then turned to the crowd.
"As Amy told you earlier, I gave Louis a dare. The dare was that he has to sing shirtless for the last two songs." The crowd went crazy and I laughed as Louis took off his shirt and threw it at the audience. There was practically a chicken fight for it. Louis and Liam had water fights the whole show so it was bound to come off any ways.
The concert ended and they came running off the stage sweating and heavily breathing. The crew gave them water and they devoured it in a second.
"I-I for-got what - it was like - performing like that" Niall said out of breath. They all nodded in agreement.
"Hey Tomlinson, loose a shirt ?" They all laughed even Louis.
We made our way to the dressing room and chilled for a few minutes before returning to the hotel.
When we did we packed everything and put it in the tour bus since tonight we begin our journey to the next venue.
