Changing My Life

Amy's POV
It's been 5 months. I have been doing great and haven't cut since. I have performed in many parties and released a new album. Now Simon is organizing my tour. Me and Liam have gone on various dates and our relationship grows stronger everyday.
I'm currently looking through some paperwork, Emily's paperwork from the adoption center. It's about her past. It says that her father and mother both abused her physically, mentally and even sexually. Why would any one do that to a child ? To top it all off even the orphanage used to beat her and even starve her.
I can't help but shed a tear when reading this. I have been using some cream that the doctor recommended. Liam had called him after we saw her bruises and today we are taking her for her appointment. When looking at the papers I saw that she was born August 15 of 2013. Meaning she will be 3 very soon. Our birthday's are all close to one another. Ha ha weird coincidence I guess.
Liam entered the kitchen and sat next to me.
"Are you okay babe ?" He asked.
"Oh, um yeah. Just reading Emily's file. Her birthday is coming up soon. It's close to mine and yours. Funny coincidence huh ?" I said removing a tear from when I read about her past and slightly chuckling at the weird coincidence.
"Yeah, that's because we are meant to be a family" He said smiling to me and kissing my forehead. I smiled back.
"We should get ready for her doctors appointment. Maybe when I put her down for her nap later we'll discuss her birthday." I said and he nodded. I pecked his lips and went upstairs.
I put on a blouse and jeans. Did my hair in a french braid and put on some eyeliner and mascara. Not too much though it's just a doctor's appointment. But the paparazzi always find us so I have to look decent.
I got to Emily's room and woke her up.
"Hey, Em. Wake up baby." I said cooing her and rubbing her back gently. She stirred and opened her eyes. I sat on her bed and placed her on my chest, rubbing her back.
"Good morning mummy" She mumbled still sleepy.
"Good morning princess, you have to get up because we have to go to the doctors today." I said and she jolted up and started to whimper. This is not going to end well.
"Baby what's wrong ?" I asked knowing the answer.
"N-no d-doctor pwease mommy I-I be good pwomise" She said tears flowing down her face.
"It's okay baby, it's not going to hurt. Me and daddy will be with you the whole time. You played doctor with daddy many times. It won't hurt I promise." I said rocking her and cooing to her.
"Hey, what's wrong princess ?" Liam said coming next to us on the bed.
"She's scared of the doctor. Do you think she will need S-h-o-t-s ?" I said not wanting Emily to hear. He shrugged. This can't end well.
"Hey baby, girl. Come here." He took her from my arms and set her on his lap. "It's going to be okay, we'll be there for you. I won't let anyone hurt you okay ?" She sniffled and nodded in his chest.
"Otay daddy, will it huwt ?" She asked. We can't lie to her what if she needs flew shots or something.
"Only for a second baby, then it will make you feel better" I said. She winced but soon calmed down.
"Let's go get dressed yeah?" I said.
"Otay mommy." I picked her up and she cuddled with me, I got her ready and we ate breakfast. Soon we got in the car and made it to the doctor's office.
"Hi, I have an appointment at 10 for Emily Payne." I told the receptionist. She clicked on the computer and told us to take a seat.
I placed Emily at a small table with toys. There weren't much kids around so she played for a while with Liam and I with the small toys.
"Emily Payne" The doctor said. We got up and followed him to a small room with a desk and a small bed.
"Hello I'm doctor Turner I will be your doctor today. Hello Emily, how are you ?" He said shaking our hands and then bending down to talk to Emily.
"I'm otay" Then she hid behind Liam's legs, sucking her thumb.
"She's a bit scared" He nodded. He went to his desk and got a stuffed Elmo.
"How about you hold Elmo here, he likes cuddles" He said showing Emily the toy. She nodded and held Elmo close to her. Liam set her on the small bed and the doctor checked her out. Surprisingly she was calm. But the worst was yet to come, as I suspected the doctor mouthed '2 shots' after he finished her check up. Emily was too distracted with Elmo. He went out of the room and got the needles. He rubbed her arm with some cotton and put the needle in her arm. As she felt the needle she flinched but didn't pull back.
"Good job Emily, just one more and you're done okay ?" She nodded and held Elmo for dear life.
Soon enough the second shot was done. Emily watched in awe as he stuck the needle in. Me and Liam looked shocked considering she was scared, but I guess she knew how the first one felt so it didn't bother her knowing that she only had one more and then it's over. As soon as she was finished I picked her up and cleared away a tear that slipped to her cheek. What can I expect ?She did better than I thought she would.
"You're so brave Emily, you were a very good girl. You took care of Elmo for me" The doctor said and Emily smiled. Hugging Elmo one last time then giving it back to the doctor.
"You can keep him love, because you were very good. And for being super brave you get a sticker and a lollipop." Her eyes went huge when she heard lollipop. She smiled to him and hugged him.
"What do we say to the doctor Emily ?" Liam said.
"Fank yuw" She said.
"You're welcome, little one" He soon sat down at his desk and typed something on the computer then turned to me.
"How has the cream worked on her bruises ?" He asked.
"Great, they're healing and she doesn't flinch that much when I touch them" I said.
He nodded and typed again on the computer, then pulled out a sticker and a lollipop for Emily, she thanked him. We shook hands and then left the office. When we got to the car I turned to Emily
"You were such a good girl today Emily, I have a surprise for you now" I said and Liam looked at me confused. I mouthed 'mall' and he started the car.
"Yuw wewe wight mommy, it only huwt fow a second." She said.
"You're daddy's brave princess, now lets go and get to your surprise since you were such a good girl today." Liam said. I turned around and snapped a picture of her in her car seat with Elmo, a sticker and the lollipop the doctor gave her. I uploaded it and captioned it saying 'Mummy and Daddy's brave princess after her first doctor's appointment. #braveprincess #proudparents.'
We got to the mall and I whispered to Liam my plan to go to Toys R Us and then get ice-cream he agreed and we got out of the car. We walked through the mall and got in front of Toys R Us.
"Now, Emily. Since you were a good girl we are going to buy you a toy and then go for ice-cream. Okay ?" I explained to her. She jumped and clapped screaming 'Yay' for the whole mall to hear. We chuckled at her cuteness.
When we entered the store, she eyed many toys. I nudged Liam and told him to keep an eye out for what she's interested in so we can get it for her birthday which is in a couple of days. She has been asking for a pony lately so I pictured what to get her but I haven't decided yet. She picked out a stuffed Sponge bob and came running to us.
"Can I have this one mommy pweeeeese" How can I say no to her.
"Of course princess, now that is from mommy now go pick out something from daddy" He said winking, I chuckled at how we spoil her so much.
"Do you think I spoil her too much ?" He asked as if reading my thoughts.
"Nooooo" I said sarcastically. We laughed and followed Emily still keeping a distance so we can look around for her birthday gift. I spotted a huge rocking unicorn. The one you can ride on, I just knew it was perfect for her. I pointed it out to Liam he grinned widely agreeing with me that she will love it. We paid for it to be delivered at our house later so Emily won't see it and it will be wrapped as well.
We found Emily at the soft toys section. I swear she has a million soft toys, but I guess they're like her friends and if she's happy then why not. She finally picked out a Peppa Pig one and we paid and left.
Then we went for ice-cream, I got vanilla, she got strawberry and Liam got chocolate. We ate it and then went home.
--------2 days later---------
Today is Emily's birthday. I woke up and showered then went downstairs to make Emily a special birthday breakfast while everyone was asleep. By special I mean pink cupcakes. Sugar means a lot to a kid so yeah. When I was done Liam and the boys came downstairs and I gave them their pancakes and ate with them. When we were done I did the dishes then Louis went to get Freddie. She hasn't met him yet so it's a surprise. When he got back we went to Emily's room and crept in. Niall and Harry had party poppers, Louis had Freddie and Me and Liam had her princess dress and a tiara.
They all sat around the bed and I cooed to her and rubbed circles on her back like I always do to wake her up. When she stirred I picked her up gently and took her spot. I placed her on my lap.
"Good morning birthday girl" I said. Her eyes grew wide as she realized it's her birthday.
"Yay, I'm thwee mommy, I'm thwee." She said jumping up and down on her bed. That's when Niall and Harry popped the party poppers.
"My, baby is growing up so fast, can't you just stay 2 forever ?" I said whining whilst me and Liam tickled her.
"No mummy, I'm big guwl now." We all laughed and me and Liam kept tickling her.
"Hey Emily, do you want to meet your cousin ?" Louis said.
"Yes Yes Yes" She jumped on her bed. "Okay, okay calm down. This is Freddie." He said. She grinned and kissed Freddie's forehead. "Hello Fweddie. I'm Emily and I'm your big cousin because I'm thwee today." We all awed at her adorableness. "Do you want to hold him ?" Louis asked her. She nodded while smiling excitedly. He placed him on her lap. She just stared in awe. We took many photos of them.
"How about we dress you up princess Emily, and then you can have your special birthday breakfast." I said.
"Otay mommy, I'm so happy I newer had a biwtday befow." That made me shed a happy tear. I saved her from her horrible life. This is probably her first birthday ever celebrated like this.
I dressed her up in her pink puffy princess dress with her Tiara once I bathed her and curled her hair.
Then I took her downstairs and she ate her cupcakes with pancakes. Raising her with Niall around gave her an appetite. Better than being in that orphanage eating nothing. I love seeing her eat. Knowing I can make her happy even with just food.
I then let her watch some Sponge bob and Dora until me and Liam got ready to take her to the park. I got dressed in a casual dress and flat ironed my hair. Liam was wearing pants and a nice shirt. Why so fancy you ask ? Well until the boys are setting up for the surprise party we are going to the park to take family photos.
I got Emily and changed her Minnie Mouse outfit.
We got to the park 30 minutes later and met the photographer which was scheduled to meet us there at 11. Emily was way to excited today but not too much, she obeyed the whole time. She just couldn't take her smile off of her face. I loved seeing her like that and I could tell that Liam did too. After 2 hours of shooting and posing and smiling we were done. The photographer left and we went to McDonald's as Emily requested.
The boys had texted saying they were done and then met us at McDonald's.
"I love seeing her smile like that, I'm so glad we found her and saved her life". Liam whispered. I smiled and nodded. He kissed me until Louis shouted PDA for the whole restaurant to hear. I giggled and blushed. True we are raising a kid but we have also been dating for 3 months.
When we were done we still had one surprise for Emily until the party, we were taking her to watch Finding Dory since she was obsessed with Finding Nemo.
We got to the movies and went to pay for our tickets. She had no clue what we were going to watch. After paying for food and stuff we settled in the theater. We had like 15 minutes before the movie started so I decided to make her guess.
"So, Emily. What's your favorite movie ?" I asked.
"Nemo. Nemo." She hasn't stopped being excited since I told her it was her birthday this morning. I just love it.
"Yes, now can you guess what we are going to watch ?" She made her cute thinking face and then her eyes widened.
"Nemo two Nemo two" She said very and I mean VERY excitedly.
"Yes, it's called Finding Dory. Are you excited ?" As if I had to ask.
"Yes, thank you mommy." She said hugging me.
"You're welcome princess. We still have more surprises waiting for you at home after we finish this." Liam was video taping this the whole time. She will love it when she's older. And we can watch it to remember her first birthday with us.
"Yay, Best.Birthday.Ever." She screamed.
"Haha, okay baby. Calm down. The movie is starting please no more screaming." She nodded and settled in her seat while me and Liam cuddled while watching the movie. I couldn't help but laugh and keep a smile on my face during the whole movie. She liked every minute of it. She almost cried when Dory lost her parents. Hey even I got emotional. She kept singing 'Just keep swimming' the whole ride home. But we didn't mind, I love seeing her happy.
When we got home, everything was dark. We knew Simon, 5SOS, Little Mix and our friends were there hiding. I flicked on the lights and everyone screamed 'Surprise'. Emily was in awe. Everywhere was covered in pink. There was a huge number 3 balloon next to a table filled with presents. A sign that said 'Happy Birthday Emily', purple and pink cake and lots and I mean LOTS of pink and purple balloons to think that this girl was spoiled would be an understatement. The boys did a great job at decorating.
Emily screamed and hugged me saying 'Thank you' like a billion times. She hugged Liam and the boys doing the same. Me and Liam hugged and thanked the boys as well for putting it all up. We haven't introduced her yet to 5SOS and Little Mix but she loved their music. They came over and introduced themselves after I told her that they sang her favorite songs 'She looks so perfect' and 'Magic' she screamed for the billionth time today and hugged them. God she's a screamer.
The party consisted of everyone singing Emily's favorite songs and playing some party games. After 2 hours we cut the cake.
Then everyone left, Emily was finally exhausted. But she got over that really quick when I mentioned presents.
"Oh my goodness mommy look" She said pointing to the mountain full of presents.
"Who's do you want to open first ?" I asked her. She made her adorable thinking face I swear I could kill me watching her do that due to the amount of adorableness.
"Uncle Ni's" she said. Niall brought her 5 wrapped gifts. She tore open all of them.
"Mommy look" She had Dora and Sponge bob games and 2 dolls.
"Thank you Uncle Ni" They hugged and then moved on to Harry.
She got some shoes with a little heel, dresses with Dora and Peppa Pig on them and jewelry. She almost died when she saw those.
"Now I be big like mommy" We all laughed at her adorableness. She hugged and thanked Harry as well.
"Now Uncle Lou's" He said putting a big box in front of her.
"That big" She said her eyes huge with a grin. "Open it" She died when she saw a tricycle.
"Thank you Thank you Thank you" She hugged him big. She loved that thing.
The other presents she got were swimsuits, toys, more toys, soft toys and some DvD's. We saved our's for last because she was going to freak when she sees them. Which she did.
"Oh my goodness." Her mouth opened and eyes wide. We gave her the rocking unicorn and then a huge doll's house followed by a kitchen set. She hugged us to death when she saw them.
"It's time for bed sweetie, it's been a full day" I said. She nodded her eyes almost closing. I picked her up after everyone told her 'Happy Birthday' one last time and kissed her fore head.
When she was asleep, me and the boys cleared all the toys and wrapping. And left the party stuff for tomorrow because we were like dead zombies. It was only 10pm but we looked like hell. Me and Liam thanked the boys again for their gifts and helping out during the day then went upstairs and cuddled and instantly fell asleep.
