Corrie's POV

The only positive about the shithole salon her mom was going to work in was that it was close to the beach.

"Hey babes!" her mom yelled as she entered the shop.

"Sandy! How are ya dawlin'" a woman that was heavily made up yelled back grasping Corrie's mom and giving her big bear hug.

"Doing good Candy" her mom said. "This is my daughter Corrie", her mom said gesturing over to her.

Corrie gave a shy wave.

"Well aren't you pretty. I got a daughter ya age. Here come met her. Anne, Karen, Ashley! C'mere and say ello to the new gals."

"Aye Candy what is all this noise about" a short, dark haired woman said coming from the back. with a blonde girl and another older blonde woman.

"Anne meet Sandy and Corrie. Sandy here is going to be working with us. She used to be a hairdressa' up in Jersey with me. We were called Sandy and Candy, the dream team. She's the best highlighter that I've ever met."

"Ah", Anne said. "Pleased to meet ya. Corrie I got a son ya age. Hangs out with Candy's daughter here Ashley."

"Hey", Ashley said flashing Corrie a big smile.

"Hi" Corrie said shyly.

Ashley looked like some of the girls in Summerville, but with a less reserved demeanor. She had short, chin length blonde hair and her makeup looked like she was one of those beauty tutorial girls on YouTube. She was so casually, wearing a dark blue tank top that matched her eyes, really short shorts and white flip flops.

"Why don't you show her around the area baby" Candy said waving her daughter off.

"Okay" Ashley said to her mom.

"Lets go" Ashley said bouncing on her toes and flashing a wide smile again.

Corrie assumed Ashley was one of those really happy people, that she DID NOT want to be around at the moment. Ashley reminded Corrie of Cameron Diaz.

"Soooooooooo", Ashley said smiling. "Aren't you glad you are going to be spending the rest of your summer's by the beach?"

"Yeah I guess" Corrie said.

"Rancho is really live in the summer let me tell you. The cutest boys come to vacation here and me and my surf crew spend like the whole day on the beach. Do you surf?"

"I took some lessons a couple of years ago" Corrie said. "I think I remember how to do it."

"You should come with me tomorrow at the beach?!"

"Yeah sure" Corrie said. There was nothing to lose and she had nothing better to do.

"Awesome! Its been awhile since I made a new bestie!"

We just met, Corrie thought, but instead, she forced a smile at the perky blonde.

"Okay sooooooo, we are going to stop a couple of places. I want you to meet some people before we hit the beach tomorrow. Do you got beach clothes or a bathing suit?"

"No" Corrie informed, noticing that Ashley had an annoying habit of dragging out her words.

"No problemo", Ashley said.

"We'll stop by Julian's and get some stuff. I want to look hot for tomorrow. Plus, I don't think that get up is going to work well for you around here."

Corrie looked down at her clothes. She was wearing her best flowy floral skirt and white button up. She admitted the high heeled loafers probably didn't match, but here outfit was pretty good.

"Whats wrong with my clothes" Corrie asked, slightly offended.

"I mean your outfits cute", Ashley said quickly. "Its just for church, not the beach."

Corrie sighed and shrugged.

"Oh look the bakery's just ahead!" Ashley exclaimed.

"Bakery?"

"Yeah the hottest guy works there. Anne's son Harry, he's apart of the crew. He's so hot and he's virgin. Like a good little church boy, he is waiting until marriage. But it gets to him. All a girl has to do is touch him and he's hard. It seriously makes the guys laugh."

"Who else is apart of your crew."

Lets see, Ashley said turning her blue eyes up to the sky. "There's Harry, Louis, Zayn - thats all the guys. Then there's me, Hazel, Estafania, and Brittany. Our crew used to be bigger, but Louis and Liam got into a fight so we split up. Whats so fucked up about it is that Louis and Calvin, who's apart of Liam's crew are cousins. And Calvin chose Liam over Louis. Like Louis was shattered about it."

"What happened?" Corrie asked curiously.

"What always happens - a girl got between them. A slutty one at that. Her name's Bria and she literally puts out to anyone who pays attention to her. Louis was trying to score an easy fuck and Liam cock blocked."

Corrie blushed at Ashley's choice of words. Jeez this girl needs to learn to express herself without so much profanity.

"Is Liam going out with Bria?"

"No thats the thing! Like Liam didn't even like Bria, it was like he was just trying to get at Louis or something. I always knew Liam was jealous of Louis."

"But if she was easy", Corrie said trying to avoid using Ashley's vernacular, "then whats the big deal?"

"Well I guess Louis was just trying to figure out why his best bud was cock blocking him. Liam is usually Louis' wingman."

"Oh look we're here" Ashley said as they stopped in front of the bakery.

Ashley opened the door letting Corrie through and came in herself.

"HAAAAARRY BEEERRRYY!"

"Is that Ash Bash I hear" a raspy, deep voice came out of no where.

A tall guy emerged from the back, and Corrie nearly started drooling. Ashley made an understatement when she talked about him being hot. Harry was absolutely GORGEOUS. Corrie didn't even know where to begin to look. His sparkling green eyes, those dimples, those perfectly pink and cupids bow shaped lips, the curly deep brown hair swept up into a man bun...he was sooooo sexy.

"Hey babes" Ashley said giving Harry a hug. " Meet my new friend Corrie. Her mom just started working at the salon. "

Harry's green eyes shifted from Ashley to Corrie.

"Hi, I'm Harry" he said to Corrie, extending his hand.

"H-hi" Corrie said weakly taking his hand. "C-Corrie...I mean yeah I guess Ashley already said that...um...yeah...thats name."

Harry threw his head back and laughed. It was so beautiful, such a deep rumbling sound, it ran through Corrie's soul it felt like.

"Your cute" he said, looking her up and down. "I just made these strawberry shortcake cookies. You want to test to see if it good enough to market?"

"Oooooh cookies" Ashley said skipping to the back.

Harry shook his head at her reaction.

"Is she always that cheerful?" Corrie asked.

"Ever since she was a baby" Harry said, signifying that him and Ashley had known each other for a long time. "Come on."

Corrie followed Harry into the back. Harry picked up a pink tinted cookie with pink sprinkles on it from a baking tray that looked like it was fresh out of the oven.

"Taste" Harry said handing the cookie to her.

Corrie took the cookie and bit into it. It was buttery, sugary goodness and it melted into her mouth. How delicious!

"This is delicious!" Corrie exclaimed. "Where do you learn to make something like this?!"

"Secret recipe" Harry said grinning from ear to ear. "Been baking since I was 8."

"Harry's dad owns this place" Ashley said scarfing down her second cookie.

"Tourist love it" Harry said shrugging. "So Corrie are you coming to Louis' party tonight?"

"Wait?! What?!" Ashley exclaimed.

Harry sighed and turned to Ashley, "Check your texts"

"Damn it Louis! Does everything at the last minute!"

"So?" Harry asked Corrie. "Do you wanna come?"

"Yeah sure" Corrie said.

"Good" Harry said. "Don't wear that though. Every guy in the party will be all over you. They like to destroy innocence."

Corrie gulped. "Duly noted."

"Ha ha" Harry said. "Here...can I take a pic of you eating the cookie. It will look perfect for marketing."

Corrie pretended to take a bite of the cookie as Harry snapped a picture with his phone.
