Chapter 11

Chapter 11

“Come on, Zayn.” I whined as I shook the boy. He just groaned and pulled his cover higher over his head. “Come on.”

I barely heard him mumble, “Harry, just go on without me.”

“Fine,” I sighed as I headed back out into the living room. The other boys were still in bed too. None of them were ready to get out of bed this morning, they were all too tired. I could understand why though, we had been out late last night. I hadn’t wanted to leave the hospital, but they finally convinced me to.

“Guess I’ll go by myself,” I sighed to myself as I grabbed my keys. I headed out the door and jumped in my car before heading out to the hospital. I growled at the traffic as I went, stopping at nearly every stop light. It had seemed to be like this for the last week. Every time I wanted to go see Sarah the traffic would pick up and give me problems all the way to the hospital.

My car was filled with a familiar sound as I eased to a stop again. I picked my phone up from the console and answered the call, “Hello.”

“Hey,” a voice sounded. “Who is coming today?”

I smiled as I heard her voice, “Just me. The others are still asleep.”

“Oh,” she said, “Lucky people.”

I frowned as the light turned green and I began to move with the traffic. “Do you not sleep well last night?”

“I would sleep better if it weren’t in this hospital bed.” She mumbled. I couldn’t blame her, that thing was uncomfortable. Even from the few times I had laid with her and watched TV, I had noticed how uncomfortable it was to lay in that thing for a long time.

“I’m sorry,” I apologized, “But at least it’s almost over.”

“Yeah,” I could hear her smile through the phone. “I can’t wait.”

“Neither can I.” I smiled too.

I felt my smile break as the light in front of me turned red, “Oh come on.”

“What?”

“I swear I am being stopped by every damn light in the city.” I groaned.

I heard Sarah giggled lightly, “Is someone anxious to get here?”

I nodded my head, “Yes, I am.”

“And why is that?” I could tell that she was leading this conversation on. It just made me smile.

“So I can take you home and let you sleep in a real bed and not that piece of shit you are laying in right now.”

“Oh,” she started, “Isn’t that sweet?”

The light finally turned green, allowing me to go forward. I could see the hospital now and there was only one more stop light on the way and that was the one that lead into the hospital.

“How long do you think you’ll be then?”

“A few minutes,” I replied as I flipped on my turn signal. “I’m turning into the parking lot now.”

“Okay,” she exclaimed. “I’ll see you in a few then. Love you.”

“Love you too.” I smiled as I hung up my phone.

I had to scope the parking lot for a good five minutes before I was able to find a parking space. I was afraid I wasn’t going to find one, but was saved by some little old lady who was leaving. It took her forever to back out of the space, but I took it as soon as she had moved. I shifted the car into park before shutting it off and grabbing my phone.

I walked quickly toward the elevators, wanting nothing but to get upstairs to see Sarah. The boys and I had been trying to avoid the paparazzi while we visited Sarah. It was becoming harder though, because we had taken some time off so that we could see her. The paparazzi was the only thing that I could think about as I waited for the elevator. I was really hoping that we would pull this whole secretive mission off without getting caught. My hopes seemed to be granted as I boarded the elevator and headed for Sarah’s room.

“Hey,” I smiled as I walked into her room.

She smiled back, “Hey.”

She was sitting up in her bed in one of the outfits I had brought her from her place. It was a pair of blue jeans with a loose dark red tank top with a large black smiley face. She was currently brushing her hair.

“What do you think you’re doing?” I asked as I walked over and sat on the side of the bed with her.

“Trying to brush my hair,” she gave me a cheesy grin.

I sighed, “Give it here.” I held my hand out for the brush. She sighed as she handed it to me. “You know the doctor said that you shouldn't be brushing your hair a lot.”

“Sorry,” she apologized, “I just couldn’t stand the tangles anymore.”

“Move up,” I motioned as I stood up. Sarah slid down in the bed and I slid in behind her. I gently began to pull the brush through her hair. “I can do it.”

“Thank you,” I could hear the smile in her voice.

“It’s no problem,” I replied as I continued slowly run the brush through her hair. We just sat there and watched the TV. I didn’t stop brushing her hair because I knew that Sarah liked it when her hair was brushed.

“Harry,” she said after a while.

“Yes?”

“If you keep that up,” she started, “I’m going to fall asleep.”

“Then fall asleep,” I whispered to her as I continued to brush. She sighed at me.

I shook my head as I stopped and leaned back on the bed. Sarah followed suit and leaned back on me as we continued to watch the movie that was on. It was The Forbidden Kingdom, one of Sarah’s favorite movies. It was really funny and I am sure that we must have seen it at least ten times after she had learned of its existence.

“Ms. Collins?” a voice spoke from the door. It was her doctor. He walked into the room and smiled at the two of us. “How are you feeling?”

“Good,” Sarah said, “Would be better if I was out of here.” She was hinting.

The doctor smiled back, “That is almost ready. You just have to wait a few more minutes, but I need to do one more check on your vitals before you get packed up.”

I got out of his way and headed over to Sarah’s closet. I began to pack all of her things as he recorded her vitals and headed out. This was the reason why I wanted to get over here this morning, Sarah was getting discharged today.

“Did you get everything?” she asked me as I moved back over toward the bed. I nodded my head and she sighed, “I can’t wait to be out of here.”

“I know.” I said as I sat down and pulled her into a hug. We sat like that until my phone began going off. I sighed as I pulled it out of my pocket to see an incoming call from Louis.

“Hello?”

“Why didn’t you get me up?!” he practically screamed through the phone.

I moved it away from my ear before answering, “I tried.”

“Yeah, but you didn’t mention that today was the day she was getting discharged!”

“Not my fault you didn’t want to get out of bed this morning.” I reasoned. “None of you wanted to move this morning.”

Louis replied, “I would have if you had mentioned that.”

“Sorry,” I shrugged my shoulders, “But you’ll get to see her soon. We are waiting on her papers now.”

“Fine,” he pouted.

“It’s not fair, Harry!” I heard an Irish accent in the background of the call.

“Get over it Niall.” I called back. I could hear laughter in the background.

“Harry,” Sarah said, “Be nice.”

I smiled at her and she chuckled as she held her hand out for the phone. I handed it to her and watched as she moved it up to her face.

“You guys shouldn’t have been so lazy.”

I loved how she was so blunt with the guys. She knew that there was so reason to try and beat the bush with them, and she usually played along with the stupid jokes that would always happen.

“I’m sorry about your relationship problems with your bed, Louis,” Sarah was trying not to smile, “But I was hoping to see you guys before I left today.”

I was trying not to laugh myself, I could only imagine what Louis was saying on the other end.

“Okay, Louis. I’ll see you later. Yeah, love you too.”

I raised an eyebrow at her as she handed my phone back, “Love you too?”

“What?” she smirked, “Are you jealous?”

“Yeah,” I smirked back as I leaned in and stole a kiss. It was just a quick peck on the lips, but I still liked it.

“Don’t worry,” she smiled, “You’re my only one.”

“Good.”

“Ms. Collins.” A voice nearly sang as the nurse named Victoria came into the room with a smile on her face. “I believe these are for you.” She held out a stack of papers for Sarah. Sarah smiled back to her as she reached up and took them.

“Thank you.”

“Just be careful, okay?”

“I will, Victoria.” Sarah replied, “Thanks for taking care of me.”

“It wasn’t a problem. Bye dear, and you too Harry.” She waved to us as she turned and headed back out of the room.

Sarah smiled at me, “I can finally leave.”

I stood to my feet, going over and grabbing her bag of things. When I turned back around, she was on her feet. I walked over and took her hand.

“Let’s get out of here.”
