Chapter 10
I sighed before walking back into Sarah’s room. She was still lying there, only her bed was propped up now.
“If it isn’t the famous Harry Styles?” she joked with me. I smiled back at her.
“Where are the others?” she looked behind me.
“They’re out in the hall.” I said as I took back my seat by her bed.
She raised an eyebrow at me, “Oh…Why?”
“They were going to give a minute with you first because we are so close.”
“Oh,” she smiled, “That’s nice of them.”
“Yeah,” I smiled for a moment before I looked down.
“Harry,” Sarah asked, “What is it?”
“I was scared that I was going to lose you, Sarah.”
“But you didn’t.” I could hear the smile in her voice. I shook my head as I looked up at her.
“But I could have. These last twelve hours have been torture for me. All I could do was think that you weren’t going to wake up and leave me. All of the memories of us together kept flashing through my mind and I couldn’t bear the thought of you not being by my side.”
“But I am Harry,” Sarah started, “I’m right here.”
I smiled at her, “I did a lot of thinking while you were out.”
She smiled back at me, “I can tell. But don’t worry Harry, I’m not going anywhere.”
“I know,” I smiled and looked down. We were holding hands again. I couldn’t remember when I had grabbed her hand, but I didn’t care either. I took a deep breath, “Sarah.”
“Yes?”
I looked up. She was looked at me, giving me her full attention. I took a deep breath as I looked into her beautiful brown eyes. I had to tell her. I would feel guilty for the rest of my life if this was the only secret that I ever kept from her.
“Harry?”
“Sarah…” I took another deep breath, “I…I … I love you.”
I watched her face to see her reaction. Her eyes began to glisten as she covered her mouth with her other hand. “Harry…”
“I just had to tell you.” I mumbled as I looked down at our hands. Then she squeezed my hand. I looked back up at her. She smiling at me.
“I was wondering if you felt the same.”
My eyes widened a little. “Wait…Sarah, you?”
“Yes, Harry.” She nodded at me, “I have for a long time.” Tears of joy began to come to her eyes.
“Then you won’t care if I make you my girlfriend will you?” I asked her with my signature cheeky grin. She giggled a little at my goofiness.
“I thought you would never ask.” A tear rolled down her cheek. I reached up and wiped it from her face. I stayed like that for a moment, my thumb stroking her cheek. I’m not sure when or how it happened, but the next moment my lips were on Sarah’s, our hands still entwined. It was a moment of pure bliss.
“Go Harry!”
Sarah and I broke apart. We looked over to the door, seeing Louis cheering. I saw Sarah look away and I could feel the blush on my face.
“I was wondering if that was going to happen on its own, or if we were going to have to put you two on a blind date or something?” Zayn said as they all walked into the room.
“Thanks, guys.” I said with slight sarcasm.
“Anytime.” Louis smiled as he slapped me on the back. I rolled my eyes at him, “I saw that.”
“Good,” I replied.
We all laughed at the hurt face that Louis made as he began to ramble on about how he thought that I loved him and I shouldn’t treat him like that. It was great. I gave Sarah’s a little squeeze as I looked up at her. I smiled as she looked back.
I mouthed, “I love you.”
She smiled before mouthing back, “I love you too.”
I turned back to the guys with a huge smile on my face. Everything was going to be fine. No, everything was going to be great.
