The New Boy

I heard my phone ring but Harry answered it for me. "Hey Niall. It's Harry." He said. "Yeah she's fine. We just went out for lunch now we are at my place. She's sleeping right now. We watched her favorite movie and then she went to sleep." He smiled. "Yeah tangled. She's such a little kid." He laughed. "She's fine Niall. I really really like her. I don't want anything to her happen to her either. I want to protect her just as much as you do. I love her." He whispered. "I know but I asked her if it was okay first. I wouldn't do it if she didn't want me to do it. I would never do anything like that without her permission." He said. "I'm sorry." He apologized. "No we didn't but she's on her period now so she's not pregnant." He sighed. "It's fine I'll bring her home later." He said. "Okay. Do you want me to wake her up now then?" He asked. "Okay I'll wake her up tell her that you'll be here in a couple minutes." He said and hung up.

i opened my eyes and look up at him. "Hey." He smiled and kissed me. "Hey." I whispered. "Did I wake you up talking on the phone?" He asked. I nodded my head. "I'm sorry." He said and kissed me again. "Thank you." I smiled. "For what?" He asked. "For saving me." I smiled and hugged him. We heard a knock on the door. "Do you mind if I keep these clothes on for now? I'll give them back tomorrow." I wondered. He nodded his head. He put my shoes on and tied them. We went downstairs and answered the door. "Hey." Harry and I smiled. "Hey. Katie get in the car I want to talk to Harry." He said. I nodded my head. "Bye baby girl." He smiled and kissed me. "Bye." I said and walked to the car. I sat down and watched them talk. Harry and Niall were both smiling. They hugged each other before Niall walked over to the car.

"What did you say to him?" I wondered. "Nothing." He smiled. Harry waved to us as Niall backed up out of his drive way. We listened to music as he drove home. When we got in he pulled me into the kitchen.

"Okay listen. I am okay with you dating Harry and everything like that. Just please don't jump into anything okay? Cool it on all that stuff. Just get to know each other more for a month or two and then you can go back to whatever it is that you were doing. I already talked to Harry about it. He promised me that he wouldn't do anything. You better promise me too." He said. I nodded my head. "Thanks Ni." I smiled and hugged him. "Promise me something else?" He asked. I nodded my head. "I know you're depressed and things like that but please don't do anything without talking to someone." he whispered. I nodded my head. "Do you wanna go to a doctor and get medicine for it?" He asked. I shook my head. "I'm really fine." I lied but I guess I've said that enough times that it's believable. "Okay. What do you want for dinner?" He asked. I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't care. You pick." I mumbled. "Nandos!" He yelled and threw his arms up. Why did I not see this coming? "I'll go get some. I'll be back in a little bit." He smiled and grabbed his keys. He left.

I walked around the kitchen not knowing what to do. I laid down on the couch and turned on the tv. My phone started to ring. It was Niall again. "Hello." I sighed. "Hey this isn't Niall. He told me to call you. He just got hit by a car crossing the street. I called 911 and they're on their way. Come to nandos now." They said and hung up. I got up and ran outside.

I got in my moms old car that we never used. I drove right over. There were a bunch of people and paramedics surrounding him. I pushed passed everyone. He was laying down on a stretcher. "Niall." I cried. He moved his head a little to look at me. "Is he gonna be okay?" I asked one of the peramedics. "We need to take him down to the hospital to see. It isn't looking very good. He broke his back so he will be in a wheel chair for the rest of his life. He has a possible chance of....death." He whispered. "No Niall please don't leave me you can't! Your all I have left! Please." I sobbed. They put one of those masks that help him breath on him. "We need to get him there quickly or else he's not gonna make it!" Someone yelled. I got on the ambulance with him and everyone else. "Niall please. Please." I cried. His breathing got slower. He blinked slowly. Someone took the breathing mask off of him. "Katie please be carful. I love you. I'm so sorry. I love you so much. Tell Emma I love her. Tell everyone thank you for everything that they've done. Tell Harry to take car of you. I'm so sorry Katie." He whispered. "No Niall please!" I begged. He stopped breathing. "I'm sorry about your loss." One said.

I just sat there staring at my lifeless brother staring at me. I grabbed his hands and cried on him. When we got to the hospital I sat on a bench outside of it. I needed to get someone to drive me home. I didn't want to talk to anyone. I ended up texting Louis.

To lou:
Pick me up at the hospital. I'll explain when you get here.

I waited there for Louis. He drove and stopped when he saw me. He came running up to me. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Niall....he's d-d-dead." I cried and hugged him. "What?" He asked shocked. "Niall died. He got hit by a car." I sobbed into his chest. "Katie I'm so sorry." He whispered. "Drive me home please." I begged. He nodded his head.

The car ride was silent. A sniff every once in a while was it. When we got to my house I walked in without saying anything to Louis. He followed me in. "Leave me alone Louis." I whispered. "I can't." he said. "Why the fuck not? My brother just died! He was all I had left! I want to be alone so I can grieve the death of my family member! He's gone! He's fucking gone." I yelled. "katie im sorry. I know he ment a lot to you but he ment a lot to me too. You don't have to shut everyone else out cause you're upset." He whispered. I sat down on the ground and curled up in a ball. I buried my head in my hands and cried.

I dont know how long I was there for but when I looked up all the boys and their girlfriends. I got up and looked at all of them. Emma hugged me tight. She was crying too. When she pulled back she walked away from everyone. All the boys were crying but Danielle and Gigi weren't. The guys have me a group hug. When I pulled back I looked around for Harry. He came running in. "Katie I heard and I'm so sorry." He whispered and gave me a hug. "I'm going to bed. You guys can go home." I whispered and pushed past everyone.

I ended up walking into nialls room. I picked up a picture of him giving me a piggy back ride. I picked up some other pictures of us that we're on his desk. I picked up his favorite sweatshirt. I smelled it. It smelled just like him. He always smelled so good. I laid down on his bed. I started sobbing and during that time I fell asleep remembering all the memories of me and Niall, my best friend and the only person who has ever really stood by me my entire life that is now gone.
