Chapter Three - Interruptions
I picked out an outfit and scooped up my phone and Bluetooth speaker. I turned on Spotify and, thank the lord, my favorite song began to play. I warmed up the water for my shower as Sympathy for the Devil blasted out my speaker.
I hopped in the shower and began singing along. I was in the middle of conditioning when I heard the door open. Whoever opened the door turned down my music. Uhrg. It was playing Good Girls, one of the best songs by me favorite band.
“Uh, Jordan.” Liam seemed scared as he spoke.
“What!” I screamed. I may not be helping with his fear.
“Well, is just that, um... “ he seemed reluctant and fearful. “It's just, that you've been in the shower for about a half an hour, and, well, Niall is hungry and Harry is bored, and since, you know, this isn't our house, I don't know how to keep them from complaining. So… basically, help.”
I took a deep breath to calm myself.
“Okay,” I said, rinsing the conditioner out of my hair. “I’ll be out in five minutes. There's some food in the fridge to feed Niall for now. When I get out I will make lunch. If you go in the basement the first closet at the end of the stairs there are some board games you guys can play. Just don't go in any other closets.”
“Got it,” he said rushing out of the bathroom closing the door behind him.
I quickly finished up my shower and wrapped my hair in a towel before getting dressed. Like always, I did my 30 eleves. At eleve number 27, I got interrupted, again. This time, it was Harry. Before he could even speak I cut him off.
“What do you want?” I said, a little more forceful than I probably should have.
He took a few steps back.
“Um well,” He had the same fearful tone that Liam had, “we were just wondering if you wanted to go out for lunch so we can all get to know each other better.”
“Sure I’ll be down in a bit.”
I did the last three eleves as Harry stood there. All he did was stand there. What was wrong with HIM! Why was he just STANDING there! No, you won't get mad, breath, breath. I turned on my heel and looked Harry dead in the eyes and said,
“What the HELL are you looking at!”
He didn't answer, but he sure did snap back to reality when I slapped him across the face and walked away with my head held high.
