Fangirl

A Normal Day on Tour

I sit on the tour bus couch, only slightly tearing up at Sounds Good Feels Good. Haha, kidding. I'm fucking bawling. WHAT NICE ASS POETRY. THE LAST DAMN THING THEY SING IS, "You know it's gonna get better." LIKE FUCK.

You know, as stupid as it sounds, it did get better. It always gets better for people once they start getting out of the habit of it. Which is weird to say now, because a couple years ago I was comfortable in the depression. I'd gotten used to it and made it my safe place. But damn, does it feel good to admit I don't have it anymore.

"We're back!" Michael yells, walking in with the still small-sized Max on his back. I swear that girl is going to stay five foot five her whole life. "Luke wanted to talk to you outside." He mentions, completely uninterested in about what.

Already slightly worried it's about me being on tour, I get off the bus and walk over to where Luke is. Okay Riley, even if he's gotten sick of you, you're still going to be grateful for the time you got. Who else does this kind of thing happen to? I was lucky.

"Hey," His smooth, ever so calming voice speaks. Quickly the reassuring break up speech ends.

"Hi," I smile, "What's up?"

"I just wanted to see you away from a bunch of yelling dorks." Shrugging, he holds my hand. "Wanna go somewhere?"

"Like?"

"Babe, we're in a different country. Literally anywhere we go will be interesting." He laughs.

"Right, right."

A couple hours later, we've found a pretty, tiny cliff that hangs over a meadow from about ten feet.

"Remember when you got lost in Paris?" Luke snorts.

I groan, "We talk about this like, every day."

"It was a great day!" He laughs.

I sit up and little and look over at him, "In what possible way was me being potentially lost in Paris for the rest of my life great, Lucas?" I'm trying so hard not to smile.

"I mean, I found you so, like, no. But also, I don't know, I feel like that was kind of when I realised I loved you." Shyly, he says it. He won't look straight at me, he's just looking at my arm smiling a little bit. God, how cute.

"Really?"

"Yeah. like, I had told the guys I loved you before then, but I think it was really just a heavy like. Then we were on the beach and laughing a lot and you just looked so good and perfect."

"You're good and perfect." I grin.

"O-M-G," Valley girl Luke smiles, tapping my shoulder, "No, you!"

"O-M-G, no, girl you are like the bestest person ever!"

"Oh, my gosh, no shut up!" He gasps, "You are!"

"Girl, no! You!"

"Gurl please," He's about to laugh before I kiss him. Then for the next hour, we're lying in grass kissing each other. Could anything be more perfect? No.

"Oh my god," He says, pulling away a little bit, "you're really good at that."

"Thanks." I laugh.

"Also, we have a little bit of an issue. " Luke glances down at my watch, so I look and scream. He screams too, and then we're both lying there screaming. After a few seconds, we come to our seconds and start running back.

"They can't just leave without you, right?" I ask.

"I mean no, but think of the trouble I'll be in if the trip is slightly delayed because of me! We might not have time to brush our teeth before the show!"

"Right, the ultimate consequence!"

"See, you get it!"

We ran onto the city bus and took it back to where the tour bus was parked. Fans were out there screaming, as Dave stood at the entrance. Luke starts waving at Dave, he sees him, and then basically all the girls move for Dave to walk past them. Of course, once this happens all of them see Luke. Holding my hand. Great. Dave escorts us through the mob of angry little fangirls, most of them touching my arm- no sorry, grabbing at my arm, only some of them complimenting me and keeping their distance. Luke doesn't let go of my hand, of course.

Eventually, we get on the bus, and we start driving.

"Sorry about that," Luke says, as we get into his bunk. You know they added two extra beds for Max and me? Like we'd use them. "I know how you feel about all the fan stuff."

"God, yeah," I sigh. "Fuckin' fans, blowing my hair in my face, cooling me off on hot days. Bastards." Clearly seeing the joke, Luke chuckles.

"But really, though, you're okay?"

"Yes." I smile. "I'm starting to get used to it, actually. Basically, anything I do is immediately who I am as a person, which I get. It's not like I'm new to the fangirl situation."

"I just feel bad. There's so much pressure on you because of me."

"There was pressure on me more before with having to hide us all the time. It's better to have it all out in the open. It's not like people online know it's me, and I don't really ever look at the Instagram Modest made for me so hate doesn't really matter."

"You're so great." Luke smiles, his bottom lip looking soft and smooth.

"I know." I sigh, flipping my hair over my shoulder. "You're so lucky to have me."

"I am." He smiles, leaning over to kiss me.
