A More Comfortable Tour
A few years ago sitting on the bus was something so unfamiliar and uncomfortable. I never left to eat because I was worried if I did they'd leave without me. Too much confusion from Amy and Luke and how he treated me. I don't really think about that stuff too much. Now, it's mostly just the nights I spent curled up in Luke's bed talking to him. A completely innocent act, yet it's still the highlight of our story to me.
"Are you going to eat that?" Michael asks, pointing to my sandwich.
"Mike she literally just made it."
"I mean, like, can I have it or were you planning on eating it?" He asks again. Knowing if I do choose to eat it myself he'll just stare at me the whole time, I sigh, and hand it to him. I'll make something later when Michael isn't around. I scrape my bottom lip with my teeth and pull my sleeves over my hands, look to the left and see Luke come out of the bathroom, running his fingers through his now golden hair. First he ditches the lip ring, then he gets all huge and now his hair is gold. Bitch where's Lukeisapenguin damn it.
He looks up, and weirdly enough I blush. I don't usually do that with Luke anymore, but this whole tour bus thing is a real blast from the past situation. He smiles, like he just remembered I decided to come.
"Can you please be love birds elsewhere?" Calum speaks. "You're making Michael's sandwich uncomfortable."
"I think it's nice." Ashton says.
"I prefer pre-relationship Ruke." Calum states. "When it was all new and they were all blushy and just friends who loved each other. So fetus."
"Fetus?" Michael shouts. "Ew!"
"He means when we were all younger."
"As entertaining as all of that is," Luke says to them, "Riley?" Nodding towards his bed. I get up and yet again, we're lying in his bed, crammed in but still comfortable.
"I think I want to be a humanitarian." I tell Luke, listening to his heartbeat. His fingers glide along my hip, back and forth.
"Really?"
"Yeah. It's pretty late in the game and I don't even really know how to do it, but I kinda, I don't know, I want to save the world. Exist loudly. Journalism is fine, but I can't accomplish anything for mankind sitting at a desk figuring out which words go best together. I want to travel and help people."
"You're the best person I've ever met." He tells me.
"And I you." I grin.
