Head splitting noises are happening all around me. I have the worst headache in the world to date I believe. My eyes burn to open them, and my arms are numb.

When I can actually address where I’m at, I see I’m handcuffed to a hospital bed. I try to sit up so I can relieve the numb feeling on my lower back, but fail miserably.

As I move, I guess my hand or elbow hits a button because a blistering sound rings throughout my entire room. A nurse comes into my room with a tall police officer directly behind her. Well then.

“Well I see you’re awake! How are you feeling? Any headaches, stomach pains?”

“My head is pounding profusely, and no, should I have stomach pains or whatever.” The light seems to grow brighter by the second, I squint my eyes and bring my right hand to shield my eyes.

“The headaches are understandable, your alcohol level was impressionably high, your stomach was pumped early this morning, and when you were brought to us, you’re ankle was twisted.”

She looks at the officer, I guess waiting for him to explain furthermore, or she’s just uncomfortable to be in the same room as a “criminal”.

“Ms. Walker, a party you attended last night was called into the station for noise control, when we arrived, we found underage teens and adults -like yourself- alcohol, and drugs. As we were arresting people, the majority escaped before we could catch them. When I, personally, approached you, you looked as if you were sleeping, but as I tapped you, you woke.” During his extra-long speech, that may I mention I don’t give two flying fucks about because I can barely think, he pulled a chair up to my bed and started playing with the side bar.

“Sir, with all due respect, I can hardly think, and if you could get to the point where I ended up here, arrested, because that would be phenomenal.” The words a whisper coming from me.

“Sorry ma’am. As I was saying, as I tapped you, you awoke and seemed dazed, I explained that you would have to come with me, because you were reeking of alcohol, your eyes were also blood-shot. I asked you to stand and when you did, you fell, as I picked you back up, you kicked me in my knee cap. I then restrained you. As I was putting you into my car, you were giggling and calling for someone named ‘Marc’ and ‘Harrison’- if I recall properly. That’s when I told you to watch your head on the roof of the car and you stomped your right foot, very hard I must say, on the ground, and made a sharp turn. That’s when you fell to the ground complaining about your ankle hurting. Oh! And you cursed a lot ma’am.” The officer smiled a toothy grin at the end, as if he were happy about explaining the events that took place.

“Oh my gosh” my head held shamefully in my hands, when he said Marc and Harrison, i knew he meant Marc Marc and Harry- not Harrison. “I am so sorry- about everything. What’s going to happen to me?” my eyes peek out from my hands protection.

“Someone that is friends with the party thrower said if anyone was put into jail because of getting arrested, he would generously pay for their release, because they weren’t fully aware of everything that was going on during the party.”

The officer now had my full attention.

“When can I go? How many people were arrested? Who is he?” The questions flow out of me, my headache subsiding at the relief.

“You may leave as soon as the paper work has been completed. Only three people were arrested- including you because of the state you were in. I cannot release who he is and that’s about it. I’ve gotta get uptown now, lots of finishing up to do.” He placed his hat on his head and tipped it.

“Thank you!”

“No problem, you stay outta trouble now.”

I nodded just as the door was shut.

Hours later, my ankle was wrapped, and I was being released. Currently, I am walking to the house I was at last night to retrieve my car. I had about a forty-five minute walk ahead of me, and my ankle was no doubt going to slow me down.

I start walking along the main road as a car stops in front of me. Recognizing the car, I turn in the opposite direction and ‘book-it’ away from the car.

“Sam! Don’t run! Come on! I’m just trying to help- really!”

I hear footsteps behind me, I try to speed up, but a hand wraps around my bicep. I take a deep breathe in and turn towards Niall.

“What? Can’t you see I have some where I need to be going?”

“Let me give you a ride. Please? I really need to talk to you, it’s about something important.”

I huff and push past him, obviously needing a ride and curious as to what he has to tell me. We hop into the truck, Niall, cheekily smiling at me before putting the vehicle in motion.

“So, I wanted to talk to you about the kids.- Weston, and Hunter.”

“Yea? What about them?”

“I know I bully you and all, but I adore the kids, I really do, and I wanted to know if I could watch them for you sometimes.”

“Hell no! You might have watched them before, but trust me, it wasn’t by my free fucking will!” I slam my hand on the dashboard, bewildered that he would even ask something so ridiculous.

He growls at me, furious, he stops his truck and tells me to get out. I look at him in shock. He reaches over the gear and pushes me out, I land on my twisted ankle with an agonizing thud.

Groaning, I look up at him. “I’ll see you at school you dumb bitch.”

His words slightly stung, but nevertheless, I get up and limp down the street to the ‘party house’ wishing for a passing car to hit me and take the pain away.
