It’s been almost a week since Ms. Donner told me she didn’t trust me with her kids anymore. I haven’t seen them in a week and a half, and I never got to tell them good bye.

Ms. Donner told me she saw pictures of me drinking, and doing drugs when I was supposed to be watching the kids- the party.

I don’t know who took those pictures of me and totally ruined the one of the only good things in my life.

Oh yeah, I also lost my job because Harry got in touch with the store owner and told them that I slapped him, when they didn’t believe him they watched the cameras and at that point I was fucked.

I got a job yesterday at a book store. Doesn’t pay too much, but it’s going to have to work out.

I’ve started online school now, and decided to work every day except for Sundays.

I haven’t had a run in with the boys since Niall and never figured out who paid the bail.

My schedule has been so different, working every day, caring for no one but my-self and doing a class or two here and there.

I’m going to Mr. Newman’s house tonight, his wife wants to get caught up and Mr. Newman wants me to meet some old friends of his.

I’ve got to leave in a bout thirty minutes, in throw on a black dress and sandals with a tan shawl on top of the dress. My hair is naturally straight so I leave it be. The Newman’s are one of those families that dress up to go to McDonalds.

I make my way up the long drive way, blooming trees aligning the entrance.

The front door is opened so, I knock and walk in. I immediately smell sweet potatoes, and some kind of grilled food.

I walk into the living area and find a boy that looks about my age texting on his phone. –He looks awfully familiar.

I start to make my way to the kitchen, when I little girl shoots pass me- where have I seen her from?

I turn the corner and see Karla- Ms. Newman, putting asparagus on a vibrant tray.

“Well my my! Let’s have a look-see at what just walked in! You still look as beautiful as ever!” she pulled me in for a bear hug, engulfing me completely.

“Thank you! It smells wonderful in here!” I start looking for the source of the delicious smell.

“Well, if you would ever come and see me you could be smelling a lot more of where that came from.” Her eyebrows went up waiting for me to make an excuse for why I haven’t been stopping by. I don’t have a valid one, so I keep my mouth shut.

“Grab those two trays and head outside, I’m going to run and grab the kids.” Softly, she patted me on my shoulder and walked down the hallway.

I carried the trays to the patio and set them down and the pre-set table.

“Sam! You made it!” Newman threw is arms into the air excitedly.

I look over to Newman’s left and almost faint at the voice that is filling my ears.

My eyes start to well up, and the man looks at me with bulging eyes.

“D-dad?”

His eyes flash in pain, hurt, sadness, happiness, but I think he is mostly amazed to see me standing here in front of him.

A wave of anger hits me as his wife comes out of the house with the kids, she’s laughing with Karla, but stops when she sees me.

Mr. and Mrs. Newman stare confused at one another.

“Dad?” I say the word again, more confident this time around than the last.

He shakes his head, probably having thought I went dead after he left me, or never thought he would have to see me again.

I look at him filled with range, then his wife and back to him.

“That’s what I thought.” I walk off of the patio’s deck, make my way through the house and to my car to leave.

Driving back down the road, I look in the rearview mirror to see my dad and Mrs. Newman standing on the front porch.
