Trying to move on.
Louis’s POV
“Hey Louis?” Alex said quietly from the other side of the bed.
“Yes Alex?”
“I want to get a tattoo.” She blurted it out as I rolled over to look at her. “I want to get a butterfly landing on a rose.”
“That sounds pretty, why do you want it though?” We hadn’t talked about tattoos since I got back so it was weird.
“A butterfly always has to look at the situation, the rose, and think of it from every aspect before landing or it could move it too much and make it unsteady. I have to do that now with almost everything in my life.” She looked right into my eyes as she spoke.
“That makes a lot of sense.” I nodded. “When do you want to go?”
“As soon as possible. He shrugged running her fingertips over my tattooed arms. “You have very odd tattoos.” She laughed stopping at the bird that’s just about my wrist.
“Yea, I know.” I chuckled. “I’ll call the place that I got my bird done at and make an appointment.”
“Sweet, thanks babe.” She pecked my cheek and rolled out of bed before walking to the bathroom.
I heard the shower turn on and then the door open again. She smiled at me as she looked for clothes. She walked back into the bathroom once she had her clothes. I decided to get back up and go downstairs again. I'd already gone downstairs and sat with my mom and sisters for breakfast.
Alex’s POV
"Here we go." I mumbled to Louis after I rang the doorbell to my moms house.
He rubbed my back and kissed my cheek before the door opened to reveal my mom standing in front of me. She looked excited to see me and Louis but all I noticed was her round belly.
"Hi honey." She smiled wrapping her arms around me.
"Hey mom." I wasn't excited to be here but I had to be polite so I hugged her back.
"As Louis, how have you been?" She asked hugging him.
"Great." He said in a happy tone.
"Lets go inside." My mom said letting go of him. "I want you to meet someone."
I looked up at Louis once her back was to me. He nodded, knowing exactly what I meant. We slowly followed her into the house. It was the same as when I left a couple years ago. She walked quickly to the kitchen where a man was sitting with a baby that looked 2-ish.
"Dave, they're here." My mom said with a smile as she stood next to me.
The man stood up with the baby in his arms. He was a tall man with dark brown hair and a scruffy look. I watched him walk over to us and hand the baby to my mom.
"Alex, this is Dave my husband." She introduced us while adjusting the baby in her arms.
"It's nice to finally meet you, she talks about you so much." He shook my hand with a warm smile.
"It's nice to meet you too." I let go of his hand and looked at Louis. "This is my boyfriend Louis."
They shook hands and then we looked at my moms surprised face. She smiled at us with her "aw how cute I knew it all along" face. I rolled my eyes and looked down at the baby. He had pretty green eyes and a toothless smile.
"This is Taylor." She started bouncing him a little bit. "Say hi, this is Alexandria."
He covered his face as a giggle slipped out of his gaping toothless mouth. I laughed too and poked his belly which made him laugh even more. When I stopped playing with him, I noticed that Louis and Dave were having a conversation about his "job".
"How old is he?" I asked while we walked over to the table.
"A year and 10 months." She smiled sitting down at the head of the table while Louis sat on my right. "His personality reminds me of you."
"That's a good thing right?" I asked with a laugh as she nodded. "Okay good. When're you due?" I asked pointing to her belly.
"In 3 months." She shrugged while Taylor sat on the table facing her but looking at me. "I'm having twins."
"Wow!" I said excitedly.
"Yea, a girl and a boy." She was really happy about it. "I think he likes you." She said looking down at Taylor. "Do you wanna play with him?"
"Sure." Babies usually make me nervous but not this one.
She handed him to me and I sat him in front of me. He held a toy in his hands loosely while he stared into my eyes and I stared back. His eyes were beautiful and they looked like they held so much. When he finally looked down at the toy, I poked his belly and made him giggle.
"Top it!" He giggled almost out of breath.
"What's the magic word?" I asked with a smile as he squirmed.
"Please!" He laughed out.
"Okay okay." I smiled pulling my hands back.
"I love you Ria." He leaped forward and hugged my neck tight.
"Aw I love you too bug." I laughed looking at my mom as I hugged him back.
"He's never done that to anyone before." My mom said with a surprised look.
"She's always been great with kids though." Louis said with a smile as he set his hand on my thigh.
"That's really true." My mom agreed as Dave stood up.
"Want a tour of the property?" He asked looking at Louis.
"Sure." Louis shrugged leaning over to kiss my cheek before following Dave out of the kitchen.
Once they were gone, my moms eyes landed on me again while I looked at Taylor. He was smiling and had his hand on my cheek.
"Pwetty." He said as he poked the edge of my nose.
"Handsome." I whispered poking his nose making him giggle and blush.
"So, you and Louis?" My mom asked breaking Taylor and I's eye contact.
"Yea, we aren't even "dating" yet because he wants to ask me right. But yea." I smiled at her.
"I knew it! I've always known it." She laughed.
"Yea I know. Everyone knew it." I rolled my eyes at her and then felt Taylor poke me cheek. "So, how long have you and Dave been together?"
"We were dating when you left but it wasn't serious enough yet to tell you. I didn't mean to keep it from you, I'm sorry for that." She seemed a little bit sad.
"I totally understand that. You know that isn't why I left." I looked into her blue eyes.
"I know. I wanted to apologize for that. We shouldn't have put you in the middle of us, I'm sorry for doing that to you." Her eyes were filling with tears. "I feel so bad for putting you I the middle of it, I never wanted to lose you."
"I forgive you mom but I still don't trust you completely, that will take some work." I was absent mindedly playing with Taylor's bare feet. "I love you but it will take some time for me to trust you completely."
"I understand that. And, I love you Alexandria Mae." She was the only person to call me by my full name. "I want to be back in your life and I will do anything for that to happen."
"Good, I want you back too but..." The conversation continued about all the bad stuff that happened.
