The Hipsters and The Girl
Late night talk.
Alex’s POV
When we got to my apartment, everyone rushed out of my car and into the apartment. I opened the door and let them all in.
“Louis, you can stay in my room if you want. I don’t care who sleeps where, all I know is I get my room and nobody gets the other rooms. The living room and upstairs loft are open, blankets are in the closet upstairs and food’s in the kitchen. Don’t eat everything please.” I headed toward the stairs.
“Sweet! I get to sleep in a bed.” Louis cheered running up the stairs. “Goodnight guys.”
“Night.” They all mumbled setting their bags down.
“I’ll be up in a minute.” I walked back down the stairs toward the kitchen where Niall was standing. “Who’s sleeping upstairs?”
“Harry and I.” Zayn was already headed up the stairs slowly.
“Okay, I’ll go grab you blankets and through them down.” I yawned.
Zayn was already trying to find a blanket in the closet, but was just making a huge mess. I laughed at him and walked over to him.
“Here, I’ll help you.” I poked his back.
He moved over so I could get to the closet. I reached for the top shelf and grabbed a few blankets for everyone.
“Can you throw these downstairs?” I handed him to blankets.
“Sure.” He took them and threw them over the bannister while Harry climbed up the stairs.
“These are for you and Harry.” I set 2 more blankets on the pull out couch before walking over to the bannister. “Goodnight guys.”
“Goodnight Lexi.” Niall mumbled with a mouth full of food.
“Goodnight Alex.” Liam stretched from the couch bed.
I turned around and came face to face with Zayn. He tried to step back but tripped oer his bag so I reached out and grabbed his hand. Some how he caught most of his weight and what he didn't get, I did.
“You okay?” I asked touching his biceps.
“Uh, yea. I’m gonna go change.” He walked away in a strained voice.
“Okay?” I shook my head and looked at Harry who wasn’t wearing a shirt now. “I’m gonna go to bed.”
“Okay. Hey, I’m sorry for earlier. I didn't realize that you and Lou were so close. I shouldn’t have said it like that.” He looked so sad.
“I forgive you, it’s really okay.” I walked over to him and looked into his intensely green eyes. “Goodnight Harry.”
“Goodnight Alex.” He smiled as I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him into a hug.
When we pulled out of it, I turned aroun and headed for my room until I saw Zayn walk out of the bathroom. He looked at me, smiled shyly and then looked at the floor.
“Goodnight.” I mumbled in passing.
“Night.” His eyes never left the floor again.
Louis was standing against the doorframe when I walked toward my room. He moved out of my way with a smile.
“You okay?” He asked shyly as I closed the door.
“Yea.” I mumbled.
“You sure?”
“Lou, just drop it. I’m fine.” I looked into his blue eyes making sure he understood I wasn’t kidding. “Now do you mind sharing a bed with me?”
“Not at all.” He picked up his bag and set it on the edge of the bed. “Can I change in here?”
“Go ahead.” I turned around to my dresser and pulled out a white shirt and my batgirl shorts.
When I turned back around he was only in his boxers and looking at me. I shook my head as I unbuttoned my pants and slipped them off. He pulled on his pajama pants and I finished getting into my pajamas. We threw our clothes on the floor and got into bed.
We were facing each other, his arm under his head, while we just laid there. I had so many questions for him but I didn't know how to ask them, we hadn’t talked in 2 ½ years and now we’re laying next to each other.
“So…?” He said awkwardly. “Alex, I’m sorry for not talking to you for so long. Management cut us off from everyone, including our families. I really am sorry, you were the hardest person to lose.”
“It’s okay, I understand.” I reached over and touched his arm. “Can we get past this awkward stage and get on to a normal conversation?”
“Yea, I have so many questions for you. Why’d you move all the way to the U.S.? I thought you loved it in Doncaster.” He seemed so genuine.
“My parents got a divorce and I didn't want to live with either of them so I moved out but then they kept putting me in the middle of the arguments saying that I spent too much time with one of them. The only way to stay out of the fights was to make a drastic move.” Thinking about my parents made me angry. “So I moved out here.”
“Wow, I’m sorry to hear that.” His eyes were full of sympathy.
“It’s okay, I really like it out here.” I saw him smile. “So, what's new with you besides being famous and all?”
“Nothing really. I haven't been home in a while though. How’s my mom?” Him and his mom were close before he left.
“She’s good, I talk to her more than I talk to my parents. She’s really proud of you.” I mumbled out. “Okay enough with the gushy stuff.”
“Okay.” He laughed.
“What’re your band mates like?” I just wanted to get to know them since they were so close.
“Who do you want to know about first?” I shrugged. “Uhm, Niall is super sweet and funny but always hungry. Liam is the nicest guy you’ll ever meet and Danielle is amazing.” He took a dep breath before continuing. “Harry is a flirt, but underneath all the flirting he’s really nice. And Zayn, he is really shy and sometimes hard to understand cause he doesn’t say how he feels until you get close to him.”
“They all seem nice. Liam and Danielle are really together. What about you and Eleanor or Zayn and Perrie?” Louis’s never been one for lying but fame changes people.
“Eleanor and I dated for a while but it didn't feel right so now we’re just friends but sometimes the press likes to make it seem like we're still together. And Zayn is single, he’s only “with” Perrie to help out Little Mix’s publicity.” He yawned and rolled onto his back.
“Oh.” I snuggled into the blanket a little more.
