Louis’s POV
“What are we doing today beautiful?” Niall slid up onto the counter next to Alex.
“It’s up to you guys. I’m off for the next 3 days so I don’t care.” She shrugged looking around at the rest of us. “What do you guys have planned for today or how ever long you're staying here?”
“After tonight, we’re off for 2 weeks.” I pointed out, reminded everyone that after tonight we were done with America.
“And we have a signing today.” Liam added looking down at his phone screen. “They just set it up.”
“Great.” I said sarcastically.
“How long do signings usually take?” Alex asked resting her head on Niall’s shoulder.
“Like 4 hours and then we go straight from there to the concert. Paul is blowing up my phone with info about today.” Liam frowned.
“Will you come to the concert tonight?” I asked Alex, hoping she would said yes.
“Of course.” She smiled at me.
“Why don’t we all go to the signing today and then go to the concert? All the girls will be there today so you wont be alone.” I was almost pleading with Alex.
“Okay…” She was hesitant but willing. “Wait, what am I supposed to wear?”
“Clothes…?” Zayn said it like a smartass.
“No shit, but am I supposed to dress up or just normal? I sound so girly.” She laughed at herself.
“Just wear something like yesterday.” Zayn was the only one engaging in the conversation besides me.
“Alex, you should go get dressed. Don’t worry about your hair or makeup, they’ll do all of that for you. Guys, let’s get our stuff so we can go.” Liam directed us in an annoyed voice.
“Okay.” She got off the counter and walked toward the stairs.
Alex’s POV
“Wow, thank you so much. I love it.” I looked at myself in the mirror.
“You’re welcome sweetie.” The nice woman who did my hair smiled at me as I got out of the chair.
Louis was waiting at the door for me; he hadn’t really left me alone since last night. His eyes wandered over my body and then to my face with a smile. I felt his arm wrap around my shoulders, pulling me closer to his body as we started walking toward the open area.
“You look great.” He said cheerfully.
“Thanks. You do too.” His bad-boy look was coming out and I have to say, it was pretty cute. “So, what now?”
“Well, you’ve already met the girls and gotten your hair and makeup done. So I guess its time to relax for a little bit.” We turned the corner to the rest area where everyone was sitting.
Danielle was curled up on Liam’s lap while he played with her curly hair that was going down her back, Perrie was sitting between Zayn and Niall with reddened cheeks like she was just laughing and Harry was looking down at his phone from the other chair. Louis took a seat on the floor, leaning his back against Harry’s shins so I took the armrest next to Niall.
“You look nice.” He whispered up to me.
“Thank you.” I whispered back to him while I pulled out my phone.
“So, what are we going to do today ladies?” Danielle asked looking around at each of us girls.
“Shopping?” An innocent voice offered from the door.
She was a brunette girl with gentle features and a petite body. I recognized her from somewhere but couldn’t place it so I just looked to the other girls.
“Hey El.” Danielle smiled shyly.
“Hey. Uhm, Louis can we talk?” The look in her eyes when she said his name was anything but innocent but I ignored it.
“Sure.” He almost whimpered standing up. Once he was on his feet, he looked at me. “You gonna be okay with them?”
“We’ll take care of her Lou.” Niall said in a protective tone while I nodded at him.
He turned around and followed Eleanor out of the room and down the hallway. I decided to move so I went to sit where Louis sat just a minute ago but before I could sit, Harry stood up.
“You can have my seat.” He offered.
“It’s okay, I’ll take the floor.” I mumbled and gestured for him to sit back down. “Actually, I’ll just sit here.” I sat down on his right armrest.
“Has he talked to you about her?” His voice was almost a whisper.
“Not really, he just said that it didn't work out so they're just friends.” I shrugged leaning closer to him.
“That’s not what happened. It was a terrible breakup. She cheated on him and then tried to say it was rape. Louis ended things with her less than a month ago and hasn’t talked about it since.” I could tell that he didn't want to be saying any of it but he was. “No matter how much we pried and pleaded, he never said anything.”
“Wow, he used to be really vocal about stuff.” My voice was caught in my throat but I knew he heard me.
“He is, just not about her. If he’ll say anything to anyone, it’ll be you.” His piercing eyes looked into mine. “You should try.”
“I don’t know…”
“Alex, you're his best friend, you’re like a sister. Just try.” He was begging.
“Fine.” I finally gave up feeling eyes land on me; I turned around and saw Zayn looking at me with a confused expression. “What's up?”
“You okay?” His confusion seemed to grow.
“Yea…?” I didn't get why he was asking.
“Okay.” He raised his eyebrows and looked away.
“She didn't know about it.” I guess Harry got why he was confused.
“Oh” Was all Zayn could say before Eleanor walked into the room.
“It was nice to see you guys.” She smiled politely with a shy voice. “You’re Alex right?”
“Yes.” I stood up.
“Louis wants you and Harry.” Tears filled her eyes before she turned away.
I looked at Harry and saw him stand up. He set his hand in the middle of my back and led the way down the hallway. Confusion filled my head as we walked into a dressing room. Louis was sitting on the couch holding his head in his hands. I took a seat next to him while Harry closed the door.
“Lou, do you wanna talk about it…?” I asked quietly.
“No, I just don’t want to be alone.” He mumbled through his hands.
I looked at Harry for help but he just shrugged. He sat down on the other side and just looked at him. Instinctively, I touched his cheeks and gently pulled his face away from his hands to reveal a teary eyed Louis. He sniffled and looked into my eyes with desperation. All I could do was wrap my arms around him. We sat like that for a few minutes until he pulled back.
“I’m sorry.” He sniffled wiping his cheeks.
“Don’t apologize, are you okay?” I whispered.
“I will be.” He sighed.
“Harry, can you give us a minute please?” I asked looking at him, he nodded and stood up. Once the door was closed and he was gone I looked at Louis again. “Louis, I’m sorry all of this happened. You don’t deserve it.”
“I’m sorry I didn't tell you last night.”
“No, I get why you didn't. Now that I know, all I want to do it smack her. You deserve so much better, you’re great.” He looked at me in disbelief. “Okay, I want to do more than smack her.”
“I know.” He chuckled.
“But Lou, you're funny, sweet, sassy, adorable and cute. You need to find someone that sees the real you.” It was cheesy but I meant every word of it.
“Thank you.” He smiled taking my hands off of his cheeks.
“I love you Louis.” I leaned forward and kissed his cheek.
“I love you too.” His arms snaked around me again and pulled me toward him.
I hugged him back for a few seconds and then pulled back. He wiped his cheeks again and stood up. Holding out a hand for me, he smiled so I took it and stood next to him.
