Isaac and I grabbed out the kayaks. We only had ten kayaks so we were going to have to share.
Luckily there is enough space for two even though it only has one seat. I grabbed my book and camera. I put them in the kayak and brought it to the water. I looked back. I went to help some people.
Anna and Eric were already in the water. Abbi and Quinn were close behind them. Sydney was sitting with Harry, Mara with Zayn, Taylor with Liam, Ellie with Louis, Brianna and Brady, and Jake with Stacy. Niall was the one that was going alone. I jumped in with Isaac and we started.
Isaac paddled first while I lounged around thinking of lyrics. I hummed the song, so far, in my head.
"B-b-b-baby c'mon over. I don't care if people find out," I sang out loud.
Everyone looked at me, clearly startled. I wrote it down quickly.
"Let's go through the tunnel," I said to Isaac. He started paddling over and everyone followed. When we got to the start of the tunnel, Isaac stopped.
I stood up carefully and grabbed a branch above me. I could hear a few sighs behind me. I usually did this. I pulled myself up onto the branch with Isaac below helping push my feet a little. I walked along it and climbed from branch to branch and followed the kayaks.
I am small for my age. I am only five feet three inches. I am the shortest here. For a while we thought Ellie would be the shortest but then she had a huge growth spurt. I am really skinny too. I don't starve myself and I don't over exercise. It also probably helps that I have an arm less than everyone else. I am just naturally skinny. My mom was really skinny too. I almost fit into some of her outfits already. I used to wear hers and my dad's shirts as dresses. I do have a lot of muscles so I'm not stick skinny. I have had lots of practice climbing trees. Isaac used to race me up a tree.
I followed them and watched them. I watched Harry and Sydney. She was flitting like crazy. It was actually very funny. I thought of a song lyric.
I sang under my breath as I ran to Isaac, it was more like leaping from branch to branch. I told him and he wrote it down. Everyone was farther back so he could stop. When everyone caught up he continued on and I sat on the branch for a while.
Niall was in the back of the line. I dropped down into his kayak. He jumped.
"Sorry," I said a little shyly.
"It's fine. I just didn't think you were going to drop into my kayak." He blushed a little. I made Niall blush?
"How's the song coming?"
"Good."
"Can I hear it?" I whispered the chorus.
"Why don't you sing with them?"
"Stage fright," I said simply. I have been afraid since the accident.
"Well you have a lovely voice."
"Thank you." I climbed back up into the tree and saw all of the girls except Stacy. Sydney was complaining a little. They motioned me over.
"Hey," I said as I sat on a branch.
"What were you guys talking about?" Ellie asked.
"The song."
"Did you sing it for him?" Abbi asked. I nodded my head. They squealed.
"How did it go?" Taylor asked.
"Good. He likes it."
"I think he likes you," Mara said. Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Me? No way," I said skeptically.
"Yes way. His eyes lit up when he saw you," Anna said dreamily. I felt bad that she thought that since she liked him.
"Does Harry look at me like that?" Sydney asked really anxiously. We all shrugged because we didn't want to say no.
"I'm totally going to set you guys up," Brianna said. I rolled my eyes at her.
"I'm going back to Isaac. I think I have another part of the song." I sang it in my head as I headed back to Isaac. I dropped down into the kayak and grabbed my book. I sang it out loud to him.
"'They say that we're no good together. And it's never going to work out.'" Isaac smiled and I grabbed the camera. I took a picture of both of us. Then we came out of the tunnel.
"Want to swim?" I ask him. He nodded. He put the paddle in the kayak and took off his shirt. I dove over the edge and heard a splash, which meant he was following me. I heard a few other splashes which meant others were following. I had the camera in my hand and took some pictures of the fish and coral. It wasn't that deep here. In some spots I could stand perfectly fine. I swam around a little and then we played keep away with a ball we brought.
