Few Hours Later

Niall’s POV
‘’Go, Niall.’’ Jana whisper yells as she pushes me towards Taylor’s bedroom door. ‘’No, he doesn’t deserve my apology.’’ I mumble in return. ‘’You get him to say it first, that’s what he needs to do. Now go.’’ She sighs, annoyed at me for not wanting to make up with my son, who started this anyways.

I turn the handle of the door, pushing it open. My eyes wonder over to the bed, where he sat, staring at his lap. I sigh to myself, feeling a pain of guilt hit me. I knew I done the right thing by punishing him, but perhaps I went a tad too far.

I knew I did.

‘’Taylor.’’ I mumble lightly as I go over to the bed, shutting the door behind me just to keep the privacy. I sit on the foot of the bed, not closet to him, but close enough. ‘’Leave me alone.’’ He sighs under his breath. ‘’Listen.. I didn’t mean to be.. so.. harsh earlier. You were just.. not coping with me, and it was ticking me off.’’ I tell him, hoping he’ll be okay.

He doesn’t say anything, he doesn’t even glance my way. ‘’I’m going to tell you what I told everyone else.. Terra has to be treated differently. She isn’t the same person as she was before. Her emotions are much more sensitive, you can’t be so rude to her. She’s already insecure, and doing mean things doesn’t help her.’’ I tell him exactly what I told the others, well the ones that could understand.

But of course, I get no answer from him. Nothing at all. ‘’Why.. why have you been so mean to her lately? You two used to be really close..’’ I sigh, realizing this. ‘’Because.. she’s different.’’ He mumbles lightly. I felt a little better, just knowing that he was listening to me was enough.

‘’Different is better. If we were all the same.. the world would be such a boring place.’’ I say. ‘’You even said it.. you wish it didn’t happen to her.’’ He says, changing the topic. ‘’That’s not.. what I meant. I mean, yeah I wish it would have been me.. not her.. but God wanted her that way, and there’s nothing we can do about it.’’ I tell him.

‘’Well maybe God was wrong.’’ He sighs, shrugging lightly. ‘’Taylor, don’t say that.’’ I reply, trying to keep my emotions straight and on the right path. I refuse to let myself lash out like I done again, it hurt me to say those things, and I know he’s hurt.. even if he won’t tell me.

‘’Everyone else has a normal family.. no drama.. no weird things.. no accidents.. no nothing. Nothing but normal.’’ Taylor mumbles with a huff. ‘’What do you mean.. everyone else?’’ I ask, sorta confused by that one. ‘’The people down the road.. my friends and stuff. Even Harry’s life is better than mine.’’ He tells me.

‘’No, Harry’s life isn’t too perfect either.’’ I remind him of the truth, none of us were perfect, and that’s what makes us unique. ‘’What do you mean?’’ He laughs in shock. ‘’He has a wife and a house and a normal family.’’

‘’You’re right, he has a wife, who he loves, and a house to support them. But Harry’s family.. aren’t what they used to be. Do you know the last time Harry say any of his close relatives was?’’ I ask, knowing he won’t know the answer anyways.

Taylor just shrugs, glancing up at me, but then back to his hands. ‘’Six years ago. Harry hasn’t seen his parents in almost a year. Harry and Selena take the time they could spend with their family to spend it with us. Do you know why?’’ I ask, also knowing he won’t know this either.

‘’No.’’ He simply states. ‘’Harry has been here for me since the beginning. When me and your mother first meet, Harry was the first person to know about her. He was the first of my friends to meet her. He got really close, and he’s always been really close. Let me tell you a story, you might not remember it..’’ I sigh, wiping my palms on my jeans, I was a little nervous from the start anyways.

‘’Alright.’’ Taylor nods a little. ‘’When your uncle Greg got married, I was his best man. But when me and your mom got married.. do you know who my best man was?’’ I ask, staring at him just to assure myself that he was listening, he actually was. This was a complete first.

“I know, Harry. I see the pictures all the time, Dad.’’ He sighs, rolling his eyes lightly. ‘’Ever since then.. my family sorta um, cut ties with me, you know.. left me out of stuff.’’ I sigh, the truth hurts… really bad. Taylor just sits there, probably confused on why the hell we decided to talk about this instead of the important thing before.

‘’Listen son, all I’m saying is that you need to cherish what you have while you have it. I didn’t do that, and that ended up with me losing very close friends and family. Alright?’’ I stand up with a sigh. He looks up at me, nodding as I turn on my heel, turning towards his door.

‘’Aye, Dad.’’ He calls out as I go to step out of the room. I look over my shoulder at him, ‘’Yeah?’’ I raise my eyebrows lightly. ‘’I.. I uh, I love you.’’ He smiles, rolling his eyes lightly at himself. ‘’Love you, too.’’

Jana’s POV
‘’How’d it go?’’ I ask as I feel Niall wrapping his arms around my waist, resting his chin on my shoulder. ‘’Fine.. perfectly okay.’’ He sighs lightly. I continue to do as I was before, snapping the buttons on Talya’s onesie as she lied on the changing table.

‘’Have you checked on Tori yet?’’ He asks me, his warm breath fanning my ear. ‘’Um, not any time lately, why?” I ask as I sit my hand gently on Talya’s stomach, just to keep her still while we stood here just talking, some ‘’alone’’ time I guess you could call it.

‘’Just wonderin’.. She’s probably nearing that time, you know.’’ Niall insists. ‘’Yeah, but don’t be sorry for her babe, she done it to herself.. she wants to do this, so she has to do what everyone else has to do.’’ I remind him of what he told me. ‘’I know, I’m just worried that she’s not okay.’’ He says.

‘’Niall, she’s pregnant, I assure you she’s not okay.’’ I laugh a little as I put my hands on top of his, leaning back on him a little. ‘’How would you know?” He asks, I could hear the smirk in his voice though. ‘’Very funny joke, Ni. But I’m sure I know what it feels like being preg-‘’

‘’Hey Mom?’’ I heard the door open with Tristan’s voice following it. He steps into the room, Niall lets me go and steps back some, joining me by my side, his arm around the small of my back though. He didn’t like to show too much display of affection infront of them, but minor things were okay.

‘’Yes?’’ I ask as he reaches me, his hands at his sides. ‘’What does Baby Mama mean?’’ He asks. Niall chuckles lightly beside me. I nudge him with my elbow, getting a grunt in return. He was so immature at times. ‘’Um, well, where’d you here that?” I ask him curious to know myself actually.

‘’Taylor says it, so does Tori.’’ He tells me. ‘’Oh, well it just means.. like.. the mother of someone’s baby.’’ I say, hoping he will just go with it and leave me alone. This was too awkward, this is the stuff Niall needs to explain, not me.

‘’But.. why don’t you just say Mother of the baby?’’ He asks, furrowing his eyebrows. ‘’Listen, Tris, it’s a short way of saying that. That’s what most younger people say.’’ Niall steps in, thank the Lord. ‘’But you’re not young, you say it to.’’ He says.

I smirk, holding in my laugh. ‘’I’m not old, for one. And for two, it’s just a joke type thing.’’ Niall tells him. ‘’Oh, so who’s your Baby Mama?’’ Tristan seriously asks. I laugh a little as I step away from them, just so I can laugh without having to hold it in.

‘’Well, the mother of my kids is your Mom, so.. yeah.’’ Niall replies. I watch from the opposite side of the room, my hand covering my mouth. ‘’Oh.. Dad?’’ Tristan sighs as he loosens his eyebrows and shifts his weight, still looking up at Niall.

‘’Yeah?’’ Niall asks in response. ‘’What’s sex?’’
