12. Love and Care
That Evening… 7:51 p.m.
Jana’s POV
Niall nervously holds my hand as we lean against the wall of the hotel room. All eyes on us. Maura, Carolina, and Diana were in here too, so perhaps Niall’s a little bit more nervous than I am.
I hear Niall gulp loudly, a true sign that he was nervous. I lean my head against his bicep, I loved that I was shorter than him. He clears his throat with a croaky cough and takes a deep, deep breath, letting it exhale slowly out.
‘’Well.. everyone.. Mommy and I.. have something to tell you.’’ Niall says, mostly focused towards the kids though. ‘’Okay, so you know how we have a big family right?’’ He asks.
A few of them nod, but mostly just the older ones. ‘’Well, Mommy and I realized all the love our family has, and all the care. So, we decided that we needed to show that love to someone else, someone who doesn’t have that.’’ Niall tells them.
‘’For the last few months, Mommy and Daddy have been looking at some orphanages and foster homes, trying to find us the perfect one. Does everyone know what a foster home or an orphanage is?’’ Niall asks them.
Tori, Taylor, Tristan, and Terra nod, but Tinley and Tatum are clueless. Maura was holding Tanner, Diana had Tiffany, but they still wouldn’t now anyways. ‘’Well, it’s a place for children who don’t have a Mommy or a Daddy.’’ Niall explains.
‘’But.. everyone has a Mommy and Daddy.’’ Tinley states, correct she is though. ‘’You’re right, but sometimes the Mommy and Daddy don’t want their baby.. because they don’t care, or they can’t provide it with what it needs.’’ I say, just assuring Niall that he wasn’t on his own with this.
‘’Mommy found this orphanage online, she read the things on the website, and it turns out that they had a Mommy that was going to have her baby really soon, but she couldn’t keep it.’’ Niall says to them.
‘’So, Mommy and Daddy decided that we have enough love and care to give to the little baby.’’ I add in. ‘’And tomorrow, we’re going to meet our new little baby. Okay?’’ Niall says to them.
A few of them nod, but once again, Tinley and Tatum are completely clueless and lost. ‘’Are we taking the baby home?’’ Tinley asks curiously as she stares at us, confusion on her face. ‘’Yep.’’ Niall nods a little.
‘’Why?’’ Tatum blurts out. I smile lightly, my little angels. ‘’Because Tate, we have to take care of the baby. We have to love it.’’ Terra tells him. I was shocked by that, she’s usually more quiet than those two.
‘’You’re right, Terra. We have to love the baby.’’ Niall nods to her. ‘’How old is it?’’ Tori asks as she stares at us from her spot on the bed. ‘’Um, a few weeks, not many though.’’ I tell her, not too sure of this.
‘’Is everybody okay with this? Do we all understand?’’ Niall asks as he releases my hand, stepping away from the wall. ‘’What’s the baby’s name!’’ Tinley says loudly as Niall walks over to her and Tatum, probably to make sure they know what’s going on.
‘’You’ll find out tomorrow.’’ He smiles as he joins them in the floor and began starting a conversation with the two of them. Niall has scheduled a designer to come to the house tomorrow and begin on the Nursery, one of our unused rooms that wasn’t far from our bedroom.
Harry will be the next to know, because he has to let the guy in the gate anyways and stay there while he’s at in the house. And then Selena will know, because I’m sure Harry will tell her. I’ll make sure Sophia and Liam know, and so forth.
And the world… well.. they’ll know soon. Very soon.

Niall’s POV
I gulp lightly as I begin to type the post to put on Facebook and link on Twitter and Instagram and all that stuff, and my website too. This is a very important thing for me and Jana, we spent long, long hours debating on whether or not to go through with this.
And thankfully, we decided to. I continue with the message after getting a little bit more nervous. Telling my kids was one thing, but telling the world was a completely different one.
My family and I would like for everyone to know that we are welcoming a new member into our family very, very soon. And no, we’re not expecting a baby. But we are going to bring one home with us. All we ask is for your complete respect for our decision. This wasn’t easy, but it will be worth it. You might think we are only doing this to expand our family, that’s not the case. We’re doing this because there are children in the world that have no love, no family, and no care, and we would love to change that for one of those children. Please support us for what we are doing, and I please ask to not overreact or cause a disturbance. Thank you.
My finger hovers over the submit button, I was nervous and afraid that something will go wrong. Someone will post something negative, and God knows what all would happen after that. At times, I just wish there was no social media.. because I might be a little bit more relaxed and normal, but clearly.. I’m not.
‘’Aye baby, you want me to give Tiffany a bath?’’ I ask curiously as I see Jana looking stressed out. ‘’Please.’’ She sighs with a nod as she glances at me. I nod in return after hitting the button and sitting my phone on the bed, getting up from my spot and making my way towards Tori.
‘’C’mere love.’’ I mumble as I take Tiffany from her lap. ‘’Daddy.’’ Tori sighs lightly. ‘’Yes, love?’’ I ask as I hold Tiffany in my arms. ‘’Nevermind.’’ She shakes her head lightly as she looks down at her lap.
‘’You alright, baby?’’ I ask, curious to know if she’s okay or not. ‘’Yeah.’’ She nods, assuring me she’s okay. But yet.. I don’t believe it. I sigh lightly as I spin on my heel and make my way towards the bathroom with Tiffany.
I know something’s up with Tori, but I just don’t know what.
