Niall’s POV
I stand close to the restaurant entrance door, my back to the actual door though. I was shifting my weight as I was trying to keep patience, but it was hard because I was worried Jana was having a hard time with the kids at the table.

The wonderful, amazing owner of this place allowed us to be as private as we could today, and I appreciated that so very much. All my little babies were bundled up back there in scarves and about two to three coats or jackets a piece, Jana didn’t risk them getting cold, trust me.

She even made me bundle up, this scarf is getting on my nervous, it was a little thing, but it still was driving me crazy. Usually I don’t have to get this cozy for the winter. Memphis is cold, but it rarely snows.

‘’Long time.. no see, Horan.’’ I heard that high pitched, all too familiar voice say behind me. I turn around my hands behind my back. I tilt my head lightly as I narrow my eyes, trying to take in his changed appearance.

The way he wears his hair is the same as he did ‘back in the day’, but so is mine, you know the whole ‘hair on my forehead’ thing, yeah… Jana likes it best like this because it doesn’t take as long to do.

‘’A very long time.’’ I reply. ‘’I heard you made six more since I left.’’ Louis mumbles as he steps a little closer, a slight grin on his face. ‘’Yeah. I heard you tied the knot and cut it about four times since you left.’’ I shrug lightly.

‘’Yeah, can’t get happy I guess.’’ He sighs as he glances away from my eyes and to the floor. ‘’Why’d you want to do this?’’ I ask, curious to know exactly why he wanted to meet with me.

You see, about a week ago I posted on Twitter that we were going to take our first family trip of the year, to London and all, and I guess he saw it because he called my record label and asked to speak to me.. so yeah, from there and stuff.

‘’I told you.. Three reasons. One, I’m tired of being distant. I’ve missed a lot, things we swore we’d experience together you know. Kids and wives.. weddings and birthday parties.’’ He shrugs, sighing lightly.

I clear my throat before talking, ‘’And the other reasons?’’ Louis eyes return to mine and he blinks slowly before continuing on. ‘’Two, I thought I might come see where’s life gotten ya.’’ He stops, looking away from me again.

‘’And three.. the one I didn’t tell you over the phone..’’ He pauses as he looks back at me once more, keeping his gaze steady on mine. ‘’I’m sorry.’’ He sighs, shaking his head lightly.

‘’I don’t know what got into me.. I.. I didn’t realize.. the things I missed. Having to see it on the internet.. not being there to experience it all with you.. it hurt, and I’m just sorry.’’ He simply says, nothing more and nothing less.

‘’Well I’m sorry that you weren’t here. Because trust me, a lot has happened. But I can say this.. I’ve missed you, Lou. I have. And I wish my children would have grew up around you, it would’ve been a good vibe to have.’’ I sigh out, letting my arms fall to my sides.

‘’You got four little ones.. Let me start from there.’’ He smiles lightly as I glance at him. ‘’One condition.’’ I smile slightly. ‘’Anything.’’ He nods a little. ‘’Don’t be at my house everyday.. Harry’s already there all the time.’’ I laugh a little.

He chuckles as he nods, ‘’Don’t worry. I’m not going to. Besides, London’s my home. But I’ll visit as much as I can.’’ He assures me. ‘’Alright, it’s a plan then.’’ I nod in return. ‘’Now.. I want to meet your kids…’’ Louis says. ‘’Okay.. c’mon.’’ I motion him to follow me as I spin on my heel.


Well.. it’s worth a shot, right?
