10. Paparazzi
London Heathrow Airport ~ London 12:56 a.m.
Niall’s POV
The paparazzi tick me off bad. Here I am trying to get my kids in a limo to get them out of the freezing cold snow, and what are those bastards doing, or nothing but surrounding me and throwing millions of questions at me.
‘’Why are you in London!’’ ‘’Are the break up rumors true!’’ ‘’Are you going to be a dad again!’’ ‘’Are the rumors true!’’
I roll my eyes as I try to get into the limo, but of course there’s always that one snobby one that likes to get in the way of shutting the door. ‘’Is it true-‘’ ‘’Go fuck yourself.’’ I yell randomly, ignoring whatever it he’s trying to answer.
Scott, one of our body guards was trying to get them to move, but they wouldn’t bulge. ‘’C’mon now! I got fucking places to me!’’ I yell as I try to shut the door once more, but they won’t get out of the damn way.
But finally, Scott pulls the guy away and I slam the door shut. Scott, Alex, and Ken will get a cab because there isn’t any time to waste, the paparazzi don’t hold themselves back you know.
I sigh in relief as the limo driver pulls off, beginning the journey to our hotel. ‘’Daddy.. why do those guys do that?’’ Tinley asks me curiously as she jumps onto my lap. ‘’Oh what little do you know babe.’’ I sigh lightly before beginning to attempt to tell her.
‘’They want to talk to me, but I don’t want to talk to them.’’ I say and she just nods as she gets situated onto my lap good. ‘’Niall..’’ Jana says from the other side of the seating arrangement. ‘’Yeah baby?’’ I ask, raising my eyebrows.
She motions her head to the right, telling me to look over at whatever it is I was supposed to be seeing. I look over and see Tori, Taylor and Terra sitting on the back seat. I look back at Jana and shrug my shoulders, silently telling her that I didn’t see whatever was wrong.
She widens her eyes and raises her eyebrows, telling me to look closer. We’ve got the whole silent talking down to a zip, we’re good at that shit. I look back over and try to see the expressions on my kids’ faces.
Tori looked okay, her eyes were glued to her phone. Taylor was fine, he had his earbuds in, his music probably blaring too loud for his ears. And then I look at Terra. She was staring at me, a light pout on her face. Almost, sad looking.
I glance down at Tinley, then back to Jana. Jana nods lightly. Terra doesn’t usually like to be not in my lap, because of what happened to me and her. But if we’re in a regular car she’d be in a car seat, like Tinley, Tatum, Tanner, and Tiffany would be too. But since we’re just going to the hotel it didn’t matter, besides we didn’t have any here.
I lean down to Tinley’s ear, hoping this will work. ‘’Hey Tin.. how ‘bout you go sit with Mommy and Tiffy, okay? Daddy’s gotta do something.’’ I whisper lightly. ‘’Okay Daddy.’’ She smiles as I lean up.
‘’Alright babe.’’ I smile back as I lean to kiss her lips, she returns the favor before smiling once more and hoping off of my lap and running over to Jana. I stand up with a sigh as I try to ‘walk’ over to Terra.
Now, let me around you, you can only walk in a limo if you’re about four foot tall, maybe not even that much. So basically, I was hunched over, and it didn’t feel too good.
As I reach Terra, her eyes light up and she smiles at me, holding her arms out. ‘’Daddy.’’ She whispers as I turn slightly, having to pick her up bridal style because of the height boundaries and all that shit.
‘’Baby, you okay?’’ I whisper back. She nods lightly as I make my way back to my seat. I sit down, thanking God that that didn’t last as long as I thought it would have. I get Terra situated on my lap so that her back was against my chest and the back of her head was leaning against my shoulder.
‘’Daddy loves you baby girl.’’ I mumble into her ear. ‘’I love you too, Daddy.’’ She says softly in return as she grabs my hand and laces her fingers with mine. I still wish it would have been me, and not her.
‘’Alright, Mom.. Set your alarm for 9 a.m.’’ I tell her as she goes to the door. ‘’Okay love, go to sleep.’’ She demands with a smile as she opens the door, stepping into the hallway. ‘’Alright, love you.’’ I say. ‘’Love you too.’’ She replies before shutting the door.
Mom’s room was the left of ours. Carolina and Diana are in the same room, the right of ours. Two beds though, of course. And as for us, where there’s four twin sized beds and a couch. Hotels are always a hassle with us, especially long distance trips like this. The ones to New York or to L.A. don’t bother me as much.
Well, the sleeping arrangement went like this.. Me and Tiffany in one bed, she has to sleep with me since we have no form of a crib or whatever with us, there’s one on the plane, but yeah.. so.
Jana, Tanner, and Tatum in another. Tori and Terra in the other. And finally, Taylor and Tristan in the last one. None of them minded at all though, besides, even if they didn’t want to they were going to.
It felt weird not having Jana with me, but it was okay for a few nights I guess. She has to tend to Tanner and I have to tend to Tiff, so those are both very good reasons anyhow. We have a very, very big day planned tomorrow.
First, we’re going to have lunch with a very, very, very, very, very old friend of mine, someone I never thought I’d speak to again. And then.. well.. I guess you’ll just have to wait like everyone else to find out..
