09. Flaws
Plane ~ 10:15 a.m.
Niall’s POV
‘’Terra, baby, you okay?’’ I ask as I kneel down in the floor beside her. She nods lightly as she continues to fiddle with her fingers. ‘’You sure baby girl, you look upset.’’ I whisper lightly. ‘’I’m not okay, Daddy.’’ She shakes her head lightly from side to side.
We were on our private plane. I only have it for two reasons, one: I hate going on regular planes, and two: it’s better because of the kids.And at the moment, Tori was in her bunk sleeping, Taylor’s playing the Xbox with Tristan, Tinley and Tatum are coloring at the table, and Tanner and Tiffany are asleep. And Jana’s reading an book on my phone.
And Terra, well, she’s just sitting on the floor, surrounded by the Barbie dolls she brought with her. ‘’What’s wrong, baby?’’ I mumble as I sit down in front of her, crossing my legs so I can lean a little closer and not be so loud.
‘’I just want to play.’’ She whispers back. ‘’You are playing.’’ I say, furrowing my eyebrows lightly. ‘’No.. I mean I want to play.. like Tristan does.. and Tinley.. I want to be.. normal.’’ She sighs lightly.
My heart.. breaks.
‘’Baby.. it’s okay. Do you want to play the game with Taylor and Tristan? Do you want to color with Tinley and Tate?’’ I ask, hoping that she’ll be okay with everything. ‘’I want to color.’’ She mumbles lightly as she glances up at me. ‘’Okay baby, Daddy’ll take you over there.’’ I say as I go to stand up.
‘’See.. I’m not normal.. you have to take me everywhere.’’ She whines lightly. ‘’Terra, don’t say that baby. You are normal, you just have flaws.’’ I say as I sit back down, getting back in my previous position.
‘’What’s a flaw?’’ She asks. ‘’It’s something that’s not perfect about someone. You see, God made no one perfect, everybody has flaws.’’ I tell her. ‘’What are your flaws, Daddy?’’ She asks me.
‘’Well, you see.. I don’t really know. But I bet if you ask Mommy, she’ll tell you.’’ I smile lightly. ‘’Okay.’’ She nods a little. ‘’Mommy!’’ Terra says a little loud, just to Jana will be able to hear her clearly.
‘’Yes baby?’’ She replies. ‘’Can you c’mere?’’ Terra asks as she looks at me, a smile on her beautiful face. ‘’Sure.’’ I heard Jana’s voice say and soon felt her presence near me. She joins me in the floor, sitting beside Terra.
‘’What is it?’’ Jana asks her as she looks down at her. ‘’What are Daddy’s flaws?’’ Terra asks curiously. Jana looks at me and smiles a little. ‘’Well, let’s see here.. Daddy snores.. and he has weird ears.’’ Jana says. Terra laughs a little before looking at me again.
‘’Daddy, what’s Mommy’s flaws?’’ She asks me. ‘’Yeah, Daddy.’’ Jana gives me the face, the ‘watch what you say’ face that she usually pulls mostly on me. ‘’Well.. Mommy doesn’t have a toenail on her little toe, right foot.’’ I say, checking that off the list.
‘’And, Mommy’s a chip one of her teeth, that we haven’t gotten fixed yet.’’ I say, ‘’And well.. Mommy’s just.. Mommy.’’ I smirk lightly. ‘’Oh.. Well.. what are my flaws?’’ She asks us both. I gulp lightly, just lightly though.
‘’The accident..’’ I whisper lightly. She nods a little. ‘’But.. God wanted me like this, right?’’ She asks, raising her eyebrows at me. ‘’Yes. And he wanted Daddy to be the way he is, too.’’ Jana assures her.
‘’Okay.’’ Terra just smiles a little. My beautiful little girl, I love her so much. She’ll never understand how much I truly love her. None of them will actually..
Later that night..
Jana’s POV
‘’It’s quiet.’’ Niall whispers as I cuddle up next to him. ‘’They’re all asleep.’’ I whisper back, slightly smiling as he puts his arm around my torso and slides the other one under me.
‘’You know.. I might not be able to see you right now.. but I know you’re still beautiful.’’ He mumbles to me as he rubs his nose against mine, getting a light laugh from me in response. ‘’I love you Jana.’’ He softly says.
‘’I love you too, Niall.’’ I assure him as I get as close as I can. ‘’When can we tell them?’’ He asks curiously, still in a hushed tone. ‘’Soon, babe.. soon.’’
