13. Beautiful
Niall’s POV
I tossed and turned like crazy last night. Poor Tiffany hardly slept because of my movement. I felt horrible for waking her up so many times, but yet I didn’t because I couldn’t go to sleep myself.
There’s been a lot of crazy things happen in my life, especially since I’ve been with Jana, but this is one of the top ten. I’m nervous and sweaty and just nervous, completely afraid of what will happen.
‘’Daddy!’’ Tinley’s loud beckoning for me snapped me out of my thoughts. ‘’What?’’ I ask as she climbs onto my bed, hurrying to me. ‘’Mommy said you have to put clothes on Tiffy.’’ She informs me. ‘’I know.. I will.’’ I nod in response as she smiles at me.
‘’Kay.’’ She shrugs before hoping off of the bed and running over to Tori, who I assume was helping her get dressed. ‘’Babe, you okay?’’ Jana asks as she reaches me, putting her hand on my cheek.
‘’Yeah.’’ I nod slightly. ‘’You sure?’’ She asks as she sits on my lap, I was at the edge of the bed so it didn’t take her long to sit down. ‘’Yeah.’’ I say, trying to assure her I’m fine, even though God knows I’m not.
‘’Are you in the mood for a kiss?’’ She whispers lightly as she puts her arm around my neck. ‘’You know I’m always in the mood to kiss you.’’ I smile lightly as I look up at her. Jana just smirks as she leans down to my face, giving me a nice, well deserved kiss.
‘’Okay, Mr. Horan, if you can just sign this last paper here.. we will get you on your way.’’ The lady smiles as she sits a piece of paper in front of me. I search for the line, not even caring to read over the material because I couldn’t care less, I’m just ready to hold this baby.
For months now I’ve been dreaming of this moment. We’ve been waiting for this baby since the month after it was made, and I honestly cannot wait for this to happen. I’m on the edge, nervous but excited.
I smile at the woman as I hand her the paper back. She sits in the stack of the other things involving our adoption process. ‘’Alright, well we can only let you two in for the greeting.’’ She says as she stands up.
Jana and I stand to, I grab her hand and squeeze it tight. ‘’Follow me.’’ The woman guides us out of the small waiting room, which was mostly taken up by the kids, Mom, Diana, and Carolina, to be honest with you.
‘’I’m nervous, baby.’’ I whisper softly to Jana. I look down at her, just to see those beautiful eyes staring up at me, her eyebrows slightly furrowed, but not much. ‘’Why?’’ She asks. ‘’What if she doesn’t.. like us?’’ I sigh, looking away from her, but still watching from the corner of my eye.
‘’Niall, she’s a baby… she’s going to love us.’’ Jana assures me with a tight squeeze of my hand. ‘’God, I hope so.’’ I mumble lightly as the woman opens the door and steps in. She turns to us and smiles as she holds her hands by her sides.
‘’Niall, Jana, I’d like for you to meet your daughter..’’ She smiles as she backs up, gesturing us with a big wave of her hand to come into the room. We step in, hand in hand still. My heart skips a beat as I see the most precious little baby, a woman holding her, swaying lightly.
‘’She’s been waiting.’’ The woman smiles sweetly as I let Jana’s hand go and step closer, afraid but yet.. amazed. ‘’By all means..’’ She nods lightly, understanding what I was mentally asking. I smile back as she hands her to me gently.
Jana steps beside me, her arm around my lower back, smiling as she stares at the little beauty in my arms. ‘’Ni…’’ she whispers lightly as she laughs a little, just out of joy that’s all though. ‘’Please tell me.. her name.. I’ve been wanting to know.’’ The woman smiles kindly as I glance up at her for a split second.
‘’Talya Claire Horan.’’ I whisper softly as I stare at my newest little princess. God.. she’s beautiful. ‘’That’s so beautiful.. I’m glad you will be able to give her a good life..’’ The woman says, sniffing a little.
‘’Are you..’’ Jana stops herself before saying something she could regret, I know. ‘’Yes.. I am.’’ The woman replies to Jana’s half asked question. ‘’Thank you..’’ I say as I look at the woman, ‘’Thank you for giving us the most amazing gift anyone could ever receive.’’ I tell her.
‘’I’m glad you are happy, and I am glad she will be too.’’ She nods a little. ‘’Niall, Jana.. would you like for the others to meet her? Or wait a few more minutes..’’ The other woman, whose name I didn’t even care to ask, asks us.
‘’Wait a few minutes.. can we be alone?’’ Jana tells her. ‘’Yes.. I’ll step out.’’ She nods, going towards the door. ‘’So will I. Once more, I’m so happy that you’re you two are happy.’’ The biological mother of my little girl tells us.
But she was no longer the mother, no matter what genetics says. She’s my daughter, and Jana’s daughter. No matter what.
‘’Can you believe this little beauty is ours?’’ I ask as Jana rocks lightly from side to side, Talya in her arms, almost asleep. ‘’No.. I can’t.’’ She laughs with a light smile. ‘’She fits in.. you know. Blue eyes.. blonde hair.. beautiful.’’ I say.
‘’Beautiful.’’ Jana whispers lightly. I lean in some, just so I can see her eyes. She was tearing up. ‘’Baby.. you okay?’’ I whisper lightly as I put my arm around my back, using my free hand to sit it on her thigh.
‘’I just.. can’t.. believe we.. have.. her.’’ Jana sighs, smiling happily at our little princess. ‘’I know.. it’s amazing.’’ I agree. She just nods lightly, a tear slipping from her eye. I use my thumb to wipe it away, getting her to blush a little as she glances at me.
‘’I need to get a picture of all of us together.. after the kids meet her that is.’’ I say. ‘’Yeah.. Um, go get them.. before she’s asleep.’’ Jana says. ‘’Alright, I will.’’ I reply as I get up, making my way across the normal sized room towards the door.
Talya is beautiful, just simply beautiful. Blue eyes, big and beautiful. Blonde hair, the perfect little cheeks. God, she’s beautiful. I truly believe that God made this baby for me and Jana, he wanted us to have her.. so he made her beautiful.. and trust me..
