Patiently, I open the CD case and I take the DVD out. I press the button the side of my laptop and the little DVD try comes out. I sit the disc carefully on the tray and press the button once I was done.

It slides back in, and once its completely closed, I get a feeling of eagerness. I’m just eager to see, and to hear this girl.

I wonder what she thinks of me, personally you know. I mean don’t get me wrong, I love all of my fans for who they are.

But after reading that letter and figuring things out about her just by seeing her picture, I kind of think I might have found the winner of my contest.

Think though, but I’m not too sure. I have to see the video first.

After a few seconds of waiting, the video comes onto the screen and I don’t hesitate to press play. I roll my lips in as I focus on the girl. She was sitting in a chair in front of what seemed to be a hospital bed.

Her attire was simple, and modern. She had a short tank top on that revealed her toned and flat stomach to me.

She had a belly button ring that was round and white. She was wearing blue jean shorts and she had an oversized flannel shirt on. Her hair was curled and to be honest, she looked amazingly beautiful.

But then I noticed something, something that didn’t change her beauty, but changed the way I thought of her. I now think that this girl is strong, she’s able to withstand almost anything.. I think this because I see her leg was wrapped in bandages, from knee down to her ankle.

She was fiddling with her fingers as they sat in her lap, she was slightly smiling as she glanced up at the camera a few times.

‘’Hurry up.’’ I heard a voice laugh lightly in the background. She nods as she takes a deep breath and releases it.

“Hi.. I’m Dovie Hayward.. and I.. I um..’’ she sighs gently as she covers her face with her hands.

I lean back in my chair so that my back as against the leather cover of the chair. I watch closely as she shakes her head to side lightly as she moves her hands away.

“Okay.. sorry. Um.. I’m Dovie and I.. I just wanted to let you know, Harry.. that.. I love you so much.. and I love your music.. and it.. it just.. keeps me.. alive.. as you can see.. I’m not doing well, and I’m not like normal girls anymore.. all I wanted in life was to smile.. and thanks you to, I can. But.. I just can’t.. at the moment.. because of my situation.’’ She stops herself and sighs loudly.

‘’Dovie.. its okay..’’ I hear the same voice as before say in the background.

I wonder if that’s the guy that wrote the letter, probably. He did say he was all she had left, so yeah.. I assume it probably is.

She nods and gulps so loud that I could hear it. But like the strong girl I knew she must be, she keeps going.

‘’Harry.. you.. you mean so much to me.. and I just can’t ever imagine getting to meet you.. You probably want to meet a normal person.. I’m sorry.. I’m not.. normal.’’ She pauses once again.

She didn’t need to apologize for being herself, and for what happened to her. I bite my lip, holding back my emotions as I see she was crying now, constantly wiping at her eyes, messing her makeup up but I’m sure she didn’t care. I didn’t care, she was beautiful no matter what.

‘’I’m sorry.’’ She sighs loudly as she looks at the camera, almost in shame.

‘’I.. I love you Harry.. and I… couldn’t thank you enough for what you’ve done for me.. I know you don’t know me, and you probably never will.. but I love you. You keep the smile on my face.. even when there’s nothing to smile about.’’ She stops and gulps loudly again.

‘’I’m sorry if I’m wasting your time.. you probably have a lot of these to watch.. but I just.. I honestly can’t express.. how important you and your music are to me.. I had.. a ticket.. to your upcoming charity show in Nashville.. but I.. I..’’

And with that, the tears pour out of her beautiful eyes like rain from a storm cloud. I hear shuffling and soon a person was on display to me too. It was a guy, fit and toned body, dark hair, I couldn’t see his face though.

Quickly, he reaches her in the chair and he leans down so he can put his arms around her. He holds her like this for a little bit until I hear him begin to talk softly, but loud enough that I could here him.

‘’Shh..its okay.. calm down.’’ He says the comforting words I bet she’s heard over and over again before.

‘’Just.. keep going, you’re almost done.’’ He says as he leans up from her and walks out of the viewing range.

She nods as she looks up at the camera again.

‘’Unfortunately, I can’t.. I currently can’t walk by myself.. and I can’t.. leave this hospital.. and it hurts to know that I can’t see you. I thought it would be a blessing to breathe the same air as you for just one night… and to be in the same place.. but I guess… I’ll never know.. how it feels.’’ She sighs one last time.

‘’If you even watched it this far.. I am thankful. I really wish.. I could.. be more.. able to do things… and to go to the show next month.. but I can’t.. but I won’t give up, Harry. I’ll keep smiling and keep myself calm and collected, I promise.’’ She smiles gently before the camera shuts off, the video ends.

And as for me, I’m completely.. starstruck and speechless at the moment. This girl is amazing.

This girl is beautiful, inside and out. This girl is wonderful.. and I vow to make her keep on smiling. And I’m sure she’ll be happy once she sees me..

Because this girl..

Is the one I pick as the winner. Only because I want to meet her, I want to make her happy. I want to see her smile. I want her to assure herself that its okay to dream, and to wish, and to hope.

Because in the end, your dreams always come true. The wishes always come true. And the hope is never lost.

I just want to see her smile..
