*Zayn's POV*

I parked behind her sleek, red Corvette nervously gnawing on my lip as she exited the car. When we made eye contact, I hid my anxiety with a provocative hand gesture and another wink.

We entered the building, and rode silently up the elevator. I followed Carter's angry footsteps down the congested hall to Ron's office. She slammed open the door and let it shut behind her into my face.

"Ahh! Carter! Zayn! What's new?" Ron's face broke out in a cheery smile and he clapped me on the back. Carter let out a groan and slammed into a chair, slapping a small notebook on Ron's desk.

"How did last night go? What did you find out? Anything new? Knowing you Carter, you've most likely solved the whole case. " Ron inquired excitedly.

"We've got nothing. No leads. No suspects. Absolutely nothing. All because of this moron you have me on case with." Her voice was shrill and angry as she jabbed her thumb in my side.

"You mean to tell me you don't have any suspects?" Carter rolled her eyes and looked over at me. Ron let his eyes travel to me too.

I shrugged.

"I talked to a few people. Not my fault she didn't do her job. She wanted to kiss me the whole night instead. Quite the crappy spy you've got here. "

"What! You've done nothing for this case except fuck that slut at the mall!"

I shrugged again.

"How else are we going to get a ticket into the offices? You are jealous I wasn't feeling you up instead."

Carter jumped up causing her seat to fall over, and my head fell to the side from the force of her small hand. I licked the metallic blood taste from my bottom lip and smirked at her .

"That all you got sweetheart?"

She gave me a twisted grin and smirked.

"You can't handle this Malik."

When Carter turned to walk away I caught her arm, twisting it to the left enough to make her wince.

"Bring it cutie."

*Carter's POV*

I completely forgot my surroundings as I sent the first spiraling punch towards Zayn's gut. He pushed it away and sent his other hand chopping into my side, bruising my rib cage.

"Carter, Zayn...."

I could barely make out Ron's hushed warning as I clutched my sore side and stared into Zayn's hardened eyes.

He shook his head, gesturing to my side, and in a split second, I had pulled back my clenched fist sending it flying toward Zayn with a with a tremendous amount of force, sending him stumbling backwards when they connected.

The dull thud and sharp gasp that escaped his lips confirmed that I'd winded him. He doubled over, from the impact of my hit that had caught him off guard. I was relentless and angered and swung another punch towards his head.

Zayn however countered it, deflecting my arm and sending a jab to my stomach. I could feel his eyes watching mine as I backed away holding my hand to the pain in my middle.

"Why are you so mad at me Carter?! Is it because I joked around one night??? We have three months to work on this!" His voice was a hurt growl and I could tell him hitting me pained him as well. I lunged at him again, yet this time I was snatched back by the floor watchguards.

I could feel tears brimming at my eyes but I held them back with the self control of a woman that had spent five years of her life in training. I clawed at the man's arms and tried to rocket to Zayn.

"Four years Zayn! You and me for four fucking years! There was Amy, Jolie, Rachel, Carly, Perrie, and this Danicka! I hate you! I never want to see you again!" I shouted, wrestling free of guy's arms.

"I hurt you, didn't I?" Zayn whispered.

"What do you think?" I shouldered past him on my way out, embarrassed more than anything.

I needed a drink. Fast.

Eek! So tell me what you think because I LOVED writing this. Although it took ny awhile I think it was an okay chapter update!
