Niall’s POV
I’m in the Ovarian doctor’s office with Tori in my lap, waiting on the lab results. They shouldn’t take long at all. The door opens and it’s the doctor, Dr. Jacobs.


She smiles sweetly as she sits down behind her desk and sits a large, white folder with Tori’s name on the front of it on her desk.

She opens it and rummages through the papers until she finds what she needs.

“Well, Mr. Horan. The situation Tori has been in.. has jeopardized her.. vaginal area.. and I’m, um, very sorry to have to tell you this.. With her being so young, the canal wasn’t as harmed as much as the internal parts.’’ She sighs, glancing up at me.

Tori’s head is lying against my chest. My baby’s so tired. They’ve been doing tests after tests for hours now. She should be asleep by now. Its almost 11pm.

What this doctor is telling me scares me. I’m worried to find out the rest, but yet, I listen closely.

‘’The test results show that her hormones are increasing faster, despite her age. And its not very common, except for in sexually abused children, that the menstruation cycle starts in a very early age… But with Tori, I’m afraid it will start soon. Nevertheless, in days to come.’’ Dr. Jacob’s deep brown eyes stare into mine as I feel a tear trickle down my cheek.

‘’So.. you’re saying.. she’s gonna.. start soon?’’ I ask.

‘’Yes,’’ She nods to me.

‘’Does that mean.. all of the aspects of puberty will come too?’’ I ask, very, very concerned for my daughter.

“Not that we no of. Some girls can begin the cycle at a later age, such as sixteen, but have the other parts of puberty completed by age thirteen. Every girl’s body is different. But I assure you that Tori’s body functions, despite the cycle, will be normal.’’ She tells me.

‘’So.. when she does.. start.. do we.. do the same.. as.. older girls do?’’

‘’Well, yes. But of course, you’ll have to help her out and explain that’s all okay. It might scare her at first, its common in the younger ages. But she’ll soon get used to it happening every month.’’ Dr. Jacobs says.

‘’Okay, so. I’m sorry I kept asking questions. But, will it be a regular five to seven days, or longer?’’ I ask her.

‘’Oh, you’re no bother to me. And probably seven days or six, depending on her body at the time.’’ She tells me with a light smile.

‘’Okay. Thank you. You don’t understand how much I appreciate your help, Dr. Jacobs.’’ I mumble, looking away from her.

‘’Its my job to help children, so I don’t mind one little bit. All I want is for Tori to be heathy and safe. And for you and her mother to understand all of this.’’

‘’Well, I am very glad you care so much.’’

It wasn’t long until the nurse had moved us back to the orginal ER room. I open the door and almost get the living Hell scared out of me as I see Jana and Harry sitting there.

‘’Niall, oh my god.’’ Jana jumps up as I put Tori on the ground.

She wraps her arms around my neck, squeezing me tight as she presses her body against mine.

I don’t hesitate to put mine around her lower back, holding her just as tight and close.

‘’I was so scared.’’ She whispers to me.

‘’Its okay.. we have answers.’’ I promise her as I slightly kiss the skin under her ear.

She doesn’t flinch, or move away, or even protest. She holds me for a little bit longer.

‘’What did the Doctor say?’’ Harry asks.

Jana and I let each other go. I sit down on the bed with Tori since Harry stole my seat, which is okay with me.

‘’Well.. its.. difficult to take.. but she said that Tori has a 99% chance to start her period soon. Like, really soon. The least is days. The doctor told me exactly how to go through with her and explain as much as we can.’’ I say, mainly trying to keep my focus on Jana.

‘’What caused that, though?’’ Harry asks. His concern and support is nice to have.

‘’She said the sexual… pene-…penetration..’’ I sigh out, not even wanting to say that about Tori, ‘’.. caused it. And the force internally. She said that other than that part, Tori’s puberty will come at a normal age.’’

‘’Her.. period?’’ Jana mumbles under her breath.

‘’Wow.. that’s… a lot.’’ Harry shakes his head gently, in disbelief.

‘’Its.. fucking stupid.’’ Jana sighs.

‘’We need to be prepared, Jana. And I think that if we do this.. together, and you know what I mean, then it will be better for both of us.’’ I say aloud.

‘’No. I’m not.. moving back in, if that’s what you’re trying to get me to do.’’ She says, quickly looking up at me.

‘’It would be better though.’’ I insist.

‘’No it wouldn’t. Don’t you want me to be happy, Niall? I’m more happy alone than I am when I’m surrounded by another person.’’ Jana tells me, coldly and harshly.

‘’Look, you two. I’m not gonna listen to this fucking shit right now. Tori’s in the fucking hospital ‘cus some motherfucker raped her and you two fucking idiots only care about where Jana’s gonna live!’’ Harry says, his voice raising some.

I don’t say anything, neither does Jana.

‘’Its stupid. You two should care about Tori right now. You and figure out when you can fuck on some other time. But right now, I don’t care what your excuses are, Tori’s the most important thing. She’s going to need you two more than ever. She’s… she’s going to need.. the assurance that you two can go about your own business just for one day.. in order to care for her.. together.’’

Harry’s words echo in my mind for hours and hours. I was horrified that he was right. I was focused too much on mine and Jana’s relationship than I was Tori’s situations.

But at the same time, I’m more concerned about Tori.
