IMPRINT

Chapter Sept

I walk out of the bathroom and sit down on the edge of Luke's bed. He looks up at me from his phone screen.

"You wanted to know about the mark on my neck, right?" I ask him.

"Yes, yes I did." He replies.

"Alright then, the answer is simple." I say, taking a deep breath. "You."

His eyes grow wide. "Are you messing with me?"

"Not at all, I speak on terms of last night's events." I respond. "Or do you not remember?"

"What the hell happened last night?" His questions were never ending.

"Let's just say someone on this bed got a little bit handsy." I state.

His eyes remained wide, his whole face wearing a shocked expression.

With no idea wear the cockiness came from, I smirked.

"And, honestly, I could do it again." I state, biting my lip. "Is now a good time?"

The words shocked me. It was almost like it wasn't me saying them, but someone else possessing me.

But that wasn't the party I was concerned about. I was concerned about my next actions.

I stood up and walked over to the other side of the bed. I lean over a bit, kiss Luke on the lips for about five minutes then stop, smirking once again.

"Too bad I have to go somewhere." I say.

And with that, I strutted out of the room to go have the same conversation with my mother.

"You did what with him last night?"

"Made out with him."

"And why did you do that?"

"That's the thing I'm wondering too."

The conversation with my mother was going better than I had planned. She wasn't exactly care-free on the subject, but wasn't exactly bat-shit crazy on it either.

"Do you think maybe..?"

"Jade, how many times do.i have to tell that imprinting shit isn't real!"

"You don't know that!"

My mother grabs my hand.

"You're right. I don't know a thing. But what I'm trying to say is that it was all probably a drunken mistake." My mom says in an almost pleading way. "Just forget about it okay?"

"I shall attempt." I reply. "For you."

"Great."

Forgetting the subject works for the rest of the day. Neither Luke or my mother try to speak of the subject again, so it's easy to pretend it never happened. It seems like we all silently agreed to not tell anyone else about the subject also.

But the cockiness from the morning wasn't going away. It's like everytime I'm with Luke, I play this kind of come-get-me game. It's like I'll tease him about staring at me while I swayed my hips as I walked, even though it was my fault he was. And when h looked away, I'd do anything to grabs his attention back.

Honestly, this game better have a prize.
