Chapitre Six

I wake up the next morning with some strange guilt of the night before. The events of the night were those things that are so wrong, but feel so right. Yeah, I knew there were 5 years between us, but it didn't seem to matter at that moment.

We seemed infinite.

Somehow, I hoist myself out of bed and grab some clothes for the day. I sulk into the bathroom and close the door. As I set my clothes down on the counter, I glance up at the mirror and examine my face.

I have dark circles forming underneath my normally green/blue eyes. But today, my eyes seem to be taking on some flakes of gray. My dark brown hair is slightly disheveled, but it'll be fixed as soon as I run a brush through it.

My eyes travel down to check out the rest of me. I notice a blackish mark with spots of purple forming on the side of my neck. I bring my fingers up to touch, and it stings like hell. I Immediately remember the name for the bruise; love bite.

The whole instant replay of the night before comes rushing to my mind as I continue to stare at the love bite. I push the haunting, yet oddly pleasing, thoughts aside and turn on the shower. I didn't care about having showered last night; I had a whole lot of remorse to wash off.

I strip down as I piece every event together once again. Then I think of one possibility for his behavior last night.

Imprinting.

No. I think. No, no way in hell would that ever happen.

I must of been thinking too hard, because as I stepped into the shower, I banged my head against the soap and shampoo holder.

"Ow, shit." I mutter, rubbing my head.

I try to turn around to get my face wet, but I realize that my hair is stuck on the holder.

As I'm trying to untangle my hair (which was ultimately failing), someone knocks on the door.

"Yes?" I ask, still struggling with my knotted hair.

"Are you okay in there?" Luke asks from outside the door. "I heard a bang."

"I'm fine..wait..no I'm not." I say, fed up with my tangled hair. "Will you just come in here?"

"Excuse me?"

"Just come in here please!"

"Fine, but please don't flash me."

"I won't, I won't."

I hear the door open and Luke walk in.

"What do you need?" He asks.

"For you to unknot my hair from the shampoo holder." I explain.

"Now how am I supposed to do that?" He retorts.

"I'll cover everything up while you untie my damn hair." I spit.

"Okay, okay!"

I cover up everything (thank God my back was turned to him) as he untangles my half-soaked hair.

"Thanks," I say as he closes up the shower curtain again.

"No problem. One question, though, where'd you get the bruise on your neck from?"

"I'll explain when I get out." I respond.

"Great."

I hear the door open and close once again as I continue my peaceful shower.

But all pease is lost as I begin to think of ways to explain my bruise to not just Luke, but everyone else.

Including my mother.

Notes

Sorry for not updating on my regular schedule this week! I've just joined an after-school running program so I've been a bit busy lately (Mondays and Wednesdays for the next 10 weeks). Also, we switch between French, Gym, and Art every "trimester" at my school, so I've been busy preparing for art.

So, enjoy, and thank you for 7 votes! It means a lot!!
