Where Do Broken Hearts Go (Sequel to You and I)

Niall’s POV

I had fallen asleep on Connie’s bed. My head was leaning against the bedframe. I looked over and Connie wasn’t there anymore. She probably went downstairs because she smelled food because I sure do.

I walked downstairs still in my pajamas and surprise, surprise. I saw Connie in the kitchen eating.

“Good morning.” She said with a small smile.

My mom told me good morning as well.

I sat next to Connie for breakfast. She seemed a bit better, but I could tell she was still upset.

My mom could tell too.Breakfast was a bit quiet.

Connie’s POV

After breakfast, Niall went upstairs to get ready. I helped Maura clean up the table and wash the dishes. I didn’t really have much to say, but I had a lot going on in my mind.

“Connie, are you alright? You seem a bit upset.” Maura asked.

“Oh, yeah. There’s just a lot going on in my life right now.” I said.

“Well, tell me what’s wrong.” Maura said.

I feel like Maura is like my second mom. I feel comfortable telling her about my problems and things that go on.

I told her about what happened with Evan.

“You certainly didn’t deserve any of that.” She said.

I nodded at her.

“I know things seem bad right now, but it always passes. Soon, everything will be okay.” She said.

I smiled at her.

“I’m happy to have Niall as a friend to comfort me as well.” I said.

“He certainly cares for you more than you think.” She said.

I smiled back at her.

After we were done with the dishes, I went back upstairs to get ready. On the way up, I bumped into Niall.

“Oh, hey Connie.” Niall said.

“Hey.”I said.

It got kind of awkward because yesterday I was the one who asked him to stay with me.

He nodded and continued to walk downstairs until I said, “Thank you for comforting me yesterday.” I said.

“No problem. Maybe today we can do something to get your mind off everything? And today is also your last day here.” He said.

“Sure, I’ll be down in 15 minutes.” I said.

After I finished getting ready, Niall and I headed out the door.

He wanted to go to this festival that was happening in town.

When we got there, it looked really cute. They were rides, food, live events. You could say that it was a carnival.

We walked around and got cotton candy. I love that feeling in your mouth where the cotton candy just vanishes.

After when she finished eating our cotton candy, we also got ice-cream. Yes, we are very hungry people all the time.

We were walking around until I suddenly screamed.

Niall was startled and thought I was in trouble.

“Look at that minion stuff toy!” I said.

“I’m going to go win it.” I said as I ran and grabbed Niall’s hand.

When we got there, I was just about to pay when Niall went in front of me.

“No, I’m going to win it.” He said as he sat down to play the game. It was one of those squirting games where you hit the middle target and whoever made the circular machine come up first, wins.

To be honest, I didn’t think he would win because there were a lot of people playing, all wanting the minion.

When the bell rang, he started playing.

Him and someone else looked like it was a tie.

When the bell sounded off, it was Niall who won. He was so happy.

“YES!” He said.

I laughed. He asked for the minion stuff toy. He handed me the toy.

“Here, it’s for you.” He said.

“No way, you won it. You should keep it.” I said.

“I said I was going to win it and I wanted to win it for you.” He said.

I smiled at him.

“Thank you.” I said.

The whole day we just walked around, went on some rides and played some games. When it was night time, they had an outside dinner with lanterns all around the area. It was really nice.

Niall and I ordered food off the menu and devoured our food when it came.

We were just having small conversations, when music started to play. People were gathering around at the dance floor.

“Let’s dance!” He said.

“What-” I said as he grabbed my arm.

We got onto the dance floor and put our arms around each other.

“You could’ve at least given me a choice.” I said as I laughed.

“Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran was playing. This song was so cute and my favourite song at the moment.

Niall’s POV

“Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran was playing.

I pulled Connie a bit closer to me as our eyes met. We were both just slow dancing to the rhythm of the song.

When the song was about to end, our eyes were still locked on to each other. I leaned in a bit.

Connie’s POV

Niall was leaning in towards me. However, I slowly pulled back. Awkward.

“Um, you did great.” He said, awkwardly.

I smiled.

We kept on walking around a bit.

“Hey Connie, I had an idea.” He said.

“And what’s that?” I asked.

“Well, I know it’s really hard for you right now. But if you want, you can join the boys and I on tour this summer. At least you can get your mind off everything and you know the boys. And as well, Bernice will be coming with us.” He said.

I stopped walking and froze a bit.

“That’s really nice of you, but I don’t want you to spending unnecessary money on paying for my plane ticket or my hotel.” I said.

“It’s fine.We can take care of that.” He said.

I seemed a bit hesitant.

It was really nice of him and It would be awesome to spend time with the boys again this summer.

“At least think about it?” Niall said.

“Sure.” I said as I smiled at him.

It was getting late and we both headed back to Niall’s house. When we got home, I went back to the guest room to get ready for bed.

While I was laying in bed, I did a lot of thinking.

Niall has been really nice to me these past couple of days and even after what happened to Evan. He helped me get my mind off from everything was that happening. He even asked me if I wanted to join with them on tour. It’s scaring me because I think I have feelings for him. This is the last thing that I wanted. When we were dating, I fell hard. I fell really hard for him. I really think that I loved him. And when we broke up, it affected me so much.It hurt and it took so long to move on. Now, I’m so scared to like him because I don’t want to be hurt again.

Maybe I’m wrong, but he sure makes it seems like he has feelings for me too.

I suddenly went into a deep sleep.

I couldn’t sleep the whole night. Today was the morning where I was heading back to Toronto. I was scared to face the reality and to seeing Evan.

I woke up early to get ready and finish some last minute packing.

Niall was going to drive me to the airport.

It was around 4 a.m. I wanted to say goodbye to Niall’s parents, but I didn’t want to wake them up.

All of a sudden, someone knocked on my door.

“Hey.”Niall said.

“Hey.And thank you again for driving me to the airport.” I said.

“No problem, I’ll be downstairs.” He said as he closed the door.

When I finished packing, I took my luggage downstairs. Niall help me carry them into the back of his car.

Once we were done, we started to head to the airport.

The airport wasn’t really far from where he lived. Maybe fifteen minutes.

When we got there, Niall helped me unload my stuff from his car. There were fans at the airport, but not a lot. Niall arranged for security because he was scared it would’ve been hectic.

We reached the terminal where I was going to board the plane.

“Thanks for a great stay in Ireland.” I said to him as I hugged him.

“No problem. To be honest, I’m going to miss you.” He said.

I smiled and started to walk away.

I turned around and said,

“You don’t need to. I think I want to go on tour with you guys.” I said,

He smiled and was a little shocked.
