Where Do Broken Hearts Go (Sequel to You and I)

Connie’s POV

Today was the day of the wedding. I woke up and decided to get ready. I went into the bathroom to take a quick shower to start on my hair and makeup. I put on a decent amount of makeup. Not too much because I didn’t like wearing makeup. I curled my hair with a curling wand. I went into my suitcase to see if I could find something to wear.

All of a sudden, someone knocked on my door. It was Niall.

“Hey, just wanted to see if you were up.” He said.

I laughed.

“Of course I am. I may not be a morning person, but today is special for your brother and Denise.” I said.

“My mom went to Denise’s to help her get ready. The guys are coming over to help Greg get ready. You’re going to be okay?” He asked.

I laughed.

“I’ll be fine. Just pretend I’m not here. Although, don’t leave without me because I need a ride to the church as well.” I said as I laughed.

He laughed as well and closed the door behind him.

Getting ready really didn’t take that long. I didn’t feel like putting on a dress on, so I stayed in my pajamas and went on my laptop.

I was just surfing the net and my twitter is full of fans excited that Greg and Denise were getting married. There was even the hashtag, #CongratulationsGreg&Denise trending. I had to join in with them as I tweeted that. Many of them asked if I was going.

I stayed on the computer for a couple more hours until I realized I needed to put my dress on. I wore a simple black dress that flared at the bottom and tight around the waist. I went into my suitcase to find my nude high heels. I grabbed my clutch and headed out my room. The guys were already loading into their car. Niall was the last one to leave.

Niall’s POV

I was just about to head out until I saw Connie coming down the stairs. She looked beautiful.
She came downstairs.

“Wow, you look great.” I said.

“So do you.” She said as she smiled.

I was driving and a couple of my cousins. Connie sat in the passenger seat next to me.

One of my cousins tapped me on the shoulder and whispered into my ear.

“Man, she looks beautiful bro.” He said.

Connie laughed. I assumed she heard that.

“Thank you. You guys all look great in the back as well.” She said.

They smiled at her.

When we got there, we all got out of the car. I had to be in the church already.

“I’m going to find the boys and we’re going to take our seats.” Connie said.

“Alright, see you soon.” I said as I waved goodbye to her.

Connie’s POV

I went to find the boys. Thankfully, they were all together so it wasn’t that hard to spot them. When I saw them, my smile went really big.

Harry spotted me first and ran to me.

“Connie! I missed you! It’s so great to see you!” He said as he hugged me tight.

The boys ran over and hugged me as well.

“Connie! You’re here!” Zayn said.

I started to laugh.

The boys and I had some small talks before we had to go into the church to take our seats. When we were in the church, we waited a while until the ceremony started.

Denise finally came walking down the aisle with her father. She wore a Cinderella dress with some embellishment o the top part of her dress. She looked beautiful and so did the dress. Her dad walked her down the aisle and gave her a kiss before he handed his little daughter to get married.

The ceremony was so nice and sweet. I hope one day, I’m able to marry the person I love.

It was time to head to the venue where the dinner and the party was held. I was going to go there with Niall, but I couldn’t find him. The boys decided they could give me a ride since we were all going there.

When we got to the venue, it was beautiful. I really liked how simple it looked because that what’s made it so elegant and classy. The boys and I went to find our seats. They were all trying to find Niall, but realized Niall was probably busy with family.

We were all sitting at our table when the announcer announced Greg and Denise’s arrival.

Everyone clapped and was really happy for them.

Soon after, the waitresses and waiters came around with food. The boys and I were sitting at a table with some of Niall’s family members. They were all so kind.While we were eating, we all made some small conversations here and there.

The announcer then asked anyone who wanted to dance to come to the dance floor. The boys all went. They asked me to come, but I just wanted to sit.

They were pretty funny dancers. I was trying to find Niall because I haven’t seen him the whole night.

Someone tapped me on the shoulders.

I turned around and it was Niall.

“Hey Connie, I haven’t seen you the whole night. I’m sorry, I was busy with family stuff.” He said.

“No, it’s fine. It’s been a great night.” I said.

“Alright guys, it’s time to slow things down a bit.” The DJ said as he interrupted everyone.

All of a sudden, “You and I” started playing. This was Niall and I’s song from when were dating.

Niall and I looked at each other. We both knew what this song reminded us of. It got a bit uncomfortable

“Um, Connie… do you want to dance?” He asked.
I was a bit hesitant at first.

“Um, sure.” I said.

We both walked to the dance floor. We stood in the middle and awkwardly placed our hands on each other.

I barely made eye contact with him. When I did, our eyes met.

At that moment, all those memories of us together came flooding back. My heart was racing. We were both looking at each other. It almost seemed like we were going to both lean in to kiss until the DJ interrupted the music.

“Alright guys, it’s almost the end of the night.It’s time for the bride to throw the bouquet. All the single ladies come up to the front!” the DJ said.

I was just about to go back to sit, when Niall grabbed my arm.

“Go up!” He said.

I was a bit hesitant at first but I didn’t bother to argue with him. I went up, feeling a bit shy.

Denise turned around and had the bouquet in her hand. I was sort of in the back, standing there and not knowing what to do.

I didn’t even notice that she threw it when it landed right in my hands.

I was so shocked. Everyone turned around and was really happy for me. I smiled back at them.

When I went to sit back at my seat, the boys were joking with me.

“Oh, so you might be the next one to get married.” Liam said, jokingly.

“Hey, maybe.” I said as I laughed.

The dance floor was opened again and everyone went back to dance.I wanted some fresh air, so I went outside to take a walk.

It was a nice night and the sky was clear.It wasn’t that cold either as well.

I was still holding the flowers in my hand. All of sudden, I heard someone calling my name from the distance.

I turned around and It was Niall.

“Oh, hey Niall.” I said as I smiled.

“Hey… can I join you?” He said.

“Yeah, of course.” I said.

It was a bit awkward at first.

“So, congratulations on getting the bouquet.” He said.

I laughed.

“Thank you, but it was so embarrassing when it landed in my hands.” I said.

Niall and I had some small talk about different topics here and there.

“Oh, Niall. I just wanted to say that I’m sorry for just walking out of the kitchen. I didn’t mean to.” I said.

“No, it’s fine.You don’t have to tell me anything.” He said.

I smiled at him.

“And thank you for comforting me when I had that nightmare.I needed that.” I said.

Niall looked shocked.

“Oh, I didn’t know realize that you knew it was me.” He said as he scratched his head.

“I was half asleep, so I sort of knew.” I said.

Niall and I kept on talking for a bit. While we were walking, a ball landed right in front of me.

A little girl came up to me and said,

“I’m sorry to bother you and your girlfriend Niall.” She said.

I laughed. I picked up the ball.

“It’s okay, sweetheart. Here’s your ball.” I said.

“Evelyn, she’s my little cousin. I’m sorry Connie.” He said as he looked embarrassed.

Evelyn ran away with the ball and back with the other kids.

“She’s so adorable.” I said.

Niall’s POV

Connie and I went back to the venue until the wedding was over. I said goodbye to the rest of the boys. We all watched Greg and Denise get into a limo where the back had a signed that said, “Just Married.”

Afterwards, everyone left and I drove Connie home.

My parents got home soon after. It was pretty late, but we all stayed up for a bit and had some small conversations. When it got really late, everyone started to get ready for bed.

Connie’s POV

I went into the guest room and got ready for bed. I couldn’t sleep and I’ve always had trouble sleeping. I was lying on my bed thinking about Niall and I dancing. When the song, “You and I” came on, all of memories together were just crystal clear in my mind. My heart was racing at that moment and I felt butterflies in my stomach.

Okay, hold up Connie. I do not like him.Although it’s complicated between Evan and I, it doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings for Evan. I really do like Evan, believe me. But tonight, reminded me of all the feelings I used to have for Niall.

I need to stop thinking about this. I wanted to go downstairs to get some water. I was heading downstairs when I heard a guitar strumming and Niall singing.

He was in the living room and I was in the other room hearing him play and sing. He was singing “When You Look Me in the Eyes” by the Jonas Brothers. Really old song, but an amazing one.

“I loved it.” I said.

Niall was startled. The tables have turned cause I was startled when he caught me playing his guitar and singing.

“You scared me.” He said.

“That was revenge.” I said as I laughed.

He laughed as well.

“Can you teach me how to play that? I love that song.” I asked.

“Sure.”He said.

He gave me his guitar and came behind me to place my hand in its right position. He helped me get the strumming pattern of the song as he started singing. When he started singing, I started to as well.

I know it’s kind of cheesy, but we had that moment when we looked each other in the eyes.

I’m not going to lie, that moment felt great.
