Thunder. (43rd Chapter)

Valerie’s POV:

I stared at the weird gadget in my hands, trying to figure out what it was. Better yet, how is it implanted in Harry’s room, without our acknowledgment in the first place. Just as I was planning to head downstairs, my father and aunt beat me into the action, since they showed up in Harry’s room. My father’s eyes dart at the device in my hands, and without further notice; he snatches it and throws it on the ground harshly. Then, he steps on it with full power, causing it to shatter into broken pieces.
“That’s an audio transmitter. We’ve been heard all this time. All the conversations that are spoken in this room are transmitted through sound waves to the carrier of the main hub system.” My aunt gasps in shock, and I feel like my head is twirling. We’ve been heard? All of this time, our personal conversations have been recorded?
“(I speak in a low tone) But dad, if its in Harry’s room, how is it able to catch all of talks?” His fingers swipe the tension off his forehead, as he releases an angry sigh. “I’m not sure if there are another transmitters around the house, but for now it is safe to say that the conversations that happened in Harry’s room are the only ones that were captured. This transmitter is used in scientific fields. We place them in areas where it is dangerous for us to be at all the time, in order to keep watch on what is going on without us being there. It is sort of a spying device, and the advantages of it are equivalent to the disadvantages if it is being used similarly to our current situation.”
My aunt wanted to add something to my father’s words, but what we heard made us all frightened. Harry’s yells and screams were heard from downstairs, but then his voice was shut out. Instead, the sound of the main door was shut like thunder.
I wanted to rush downstairs, but I couldn’t. I wanted to scream and shout, but I couldn’t. I wanted to check up on Harry, but I couldn’t. I was on the ground, dozed in my own faint. The amount of fear that emerged into me, was enough to knock me out of my life temporarily. Harry… All I could think of in my passed out estate is Harry. Before I shut down completely, I heard my aunt’s screams and rushing footsteps downstairs. What is going on, God? Why are you punishing me? Was it a crime to help someone in need? Was it a crime to love and be loved in return?
…An Hour Later…

Regina’s POV:

“Listen, ma’am. We can’t do anything right now. All we could find in our investigation is a tracking device that was located in the living room. we have surveilled the premises and we promise to keep a constant eye around the house for any suspicious intruders.” How could the police be so calm about this? Harry is abducted, my poor niece is in a faint, and I can’t even comprehend all of what is going on right now. I made sure to give out Gerard’s name to the chief inspector, but he questioned me on my reasons of claiming him as a prior subject.
Eventually, my brother saw my struggle in explaining, so he spilled out all of the truth. By truth I mean everything, from the island till this very moment. I don’t care about risks, but I do care about the innocent boy; our own boy. blood isn’t the only representative of family, the communication, memories and care are more valuable than a silly DNA test.
