Up All Night. (33rd Chapter)

Valerie's POV:

I stayed up all night, admitting to myself that I was the one responsible for this current conclusion. I gave Harry all the advice, guidance and intensive care that made him blossom as one of his own kind. I shouldn’t be blaming myself for anything that he chose, its his life after all and what I did was for his best. He can talk, walk and behave like a normal human, now. I think my responsibility has the right to shift from him to myself. He chose Georgia, so let it be.
Does that mean I should leave myself alone? Do I have to stay this weak and fragile, watching this relationship blossom? I don’t know, but what I am certain of is that I will not neglect my rights to live and be adored by someone. Maybe, just maybe, if I tried giving Charlie a chance; things will eventually work out. I know what I am saying now is against all of my previous beliefs, but I need someone that wants me.
For this purpose I called Charlie in the morning, inviting him over to my villa for a cup of tea. He fought the idea but I begged him to forgive me and what happened at that night. As I relax on the sofa, the door bell dings and the butler welcomes my expected guest. As Charlie walks into the wide living room, I stand up to greet him with a handshake http://www.polyvore.com/blue_darkness/set?id=141223533&lid=4050520. “I’m glad you accepted my invite Charlie, please sit down.”
He nods in silence as I look at his attractive face that has a little scratches around the nose area. “Look, I don’t want to make this boring or a waste of time for you, Charlie. You have to admit that you were a little impolite, but what you got back from my cousin cannot be defended. For that, I want to apologise on his behalf, and I hope somewhere in your heart; you will find a place to forgive and forget.”
Charlie looks at me in a weird way, clearly not expecting me out of all people to be the one apologising to him. We had a rough background since I would always block him out, but I now that I think of it; everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves as worthy candidates of being a companion. “(He nods, as his greenish-brown eyes staring at me) Never mind, Valerie. But what’s confusing me is that you decided to talk to me and actually invite me personally. I always thought you weren’t interested in being around me in the first place.” I cross my leg over the other, while the maid serves us with tea.
“Charlie, I know you have been fond of me since we were kids, but your approach is out of line. (I pause then proceed) Instead of being extra flirty and touchy all the time, I would have appreciated it if you were gentle and polite in your approach. (I sigh) That’s why I am giving you a chance to get to know me more, and allowing me to know you as the real Charlie. “
His smile appears on his lips, as he twists his silver ring on his finger. “I’d like that, very much. (He smirks) Does this mean we have a shot in the future?”
I roll my eyes, as he chuckles. “Charlie, no one knows what tomorrow hides for us. But as of now, I am willing to open the door for you.” He takes a sip from his tea, as my mind drives to its own place. Let’s see who will win Harry… You and Georgia, or me and Charlie.
