I recollect myself and smile with fakery. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you all. What I wanted to say is, he doesn’t like to socialise a lot. He would rather stay in his room, and rela-…” I didn’t have the chance to finish my sentence, because the person I am trying to shield ran towards me. “Valerie! (He smiles at me, grabbing my hand) Come with Harry, please?” I look deeply into Harry’s eyes, begging him to collect his thoughts and to notice that this isn’t the right time at all.
He seemed to grasp my radiated feelings, once he looked around the table and noticed the new faces.“(He smiles gently at them, as he speaks) Hello! I am Harry.” Charlie chuckles in a sarcastic way, while Ronald looks at Harry through his thick glasses. He was dissecting him like a lab rat of his weird experiments, he was looking way too long so I had to cut his thoughts.
"(I giggle with nervousness, as I mask a polite smile) Harry, these are our guests. Mr. Ronald and Charlie Pettigrew.” He waves at them innocently, still having that magnificent smile on his pink lips; no Harry these are not the good guys. “Nice to meet you, Harry. Would you mind sitting with us for dinner?” Ronald invites Harry in a very sneaky way, while poor Harry nods and slides on the chair facing me.
“(He whispers in my ear) Is your cousin always this cheerful? I thought you said he hates socialising?” I dodge my face away from Charlie’s closeness, which make him do the unpredictable. He places his palm over my bare thigh, squeezing my flesh as I squeak under my breath. I look at his face, wishing I could bite his blonde head off. I shuffle on my seat, as I slap his hand off my thigh, making him chuckle under his breath.
“So, Harry. You draw?” Ronald asks him, while Harry’s stuffing his mouth with a piece of baguette. He swallows and nods, then speaks: “Harry drew a portrait of Valerie, but Valerie didn’t come up so Harry came down to take her.” My father coughs in discomfort, while I choke on my water. Charlie throws a fit of laughter, making Harry’s face sadden. “Thomas, why does he refer to himself in the third person?”
Ronald’s suspicious rate has increased greatly, as my father tries to think of a possible explanation; there isn’t any. “He’s such a funny person, Val.” Charlie snickers with sarcasm, and that was when I stopped being my calm self. I jolt up from my seat, darting my finger closely to Charlie’s eye. “(I speak in a threatening tone) One more word from your mouth about Harry, and I’ll make sure you never step into this house again. (Ronald gasps at how I am speaking to his son, but I continue) This is the way he expresses himself, now if you have an issue then write it down and put it in an imaginary suggestion box.”
“(He tries to calm me) Valerie, relax darling.” My father’s soothing words are not what I want right now, I want to swipe a solid slap on Charlie’s face, so solid it would rearrange his facial features. Charlie stands up, and grabs my hand firmly, as his face snickers a disgusting smirk. “(He challenges) What if I do have an issue? He sounds like a drunk retard. What are you going to do about it, huh?” Ronald commands his son: “Charlie! Behave yourself and apologise this instant!”
Charlie didn’t seem to give a care, while his grasp hurt my wrist more and more. As I tried to take my wrist off, my father stood up to perform; but there was no time for that. A plate flew, thrashing Charlie’s face like a pinpoint aim. We all gasp, as Charlie loses his concentration and groans from the pain. We all gasp, but that didn’t stop the aimer. Harry leaped like the panther that tried attacking me in the island, jumbling Charlie on the floor as he leaped endless hits over and over.
