Chapter 31: Interview
Jana's Outfit
Taylor//Tori
~Two weeks later~
Jana’s POV
“Mommy, is daddy makin’ breakfast?’’ Tori asks as we walk downstairs. ‘’Yeah.’’ I tell her and she nods as she takes a hold of my hand as we make our way to the kitchen. We go in to find Niall whistling to himself as he cooks the pancakes in the pan.
‘’Hi Daddy!’’ Tori squeals as she lets my hand go and runs up behind him, hugging his leg since she knows not to get too close to the stove. ‘’Hey princess.’’ He laughs lightly as he touches her head with his hand, trying to show his affection and protection.
‘’Why we wake up so early, Daddy?’’ She asks him as she leans her head against his leg. ‘’Because.. we’re gonna go talk to a nice lady about our new baby.’’ He says, referring to the interview with Robin Roberts we have in a half an hour. She called Niall’s “people” a few days ago and asked if it was okay if she flew down and done an interview, since we don’t want to be in a plane yet with the baby. Niall was happy to do this, he liked bragging about us.
Tori doesn’t reply, she just sighs as she lets him go and joins me at the table. ‘’Where’s Tay?’’ Niall asks as he turns around to face us. ‘’Upstairs.. still sleeping. I didn’t want to wake him just yet.’’ I tell him. He nods a little before turning back around in order to prevent burning our breakfast.
‘’Of course… the baby gets to sleep.’’ Tori mumbles under her breath, but it was louder than she thought. ‘’The baby needs rest, Tori. Stop complaining.’’ Niall says as he huffs lightly, annoyed at her constant comments on how we don’t love her any more, even though we do.
“Hi there, Niall! I haven’t saw you in ages!’’ Robin smiles brightly as she hugs him tight. We met her at this café like place, the owners closed it down so we could peacefully talk, this was all her idea. The cameras are here too, and I know for sure that its live on GMA night now.
Niall sits down in the chair beside me as I rock Taylor in my arms. Tori climbs onto his lap and he puts his arms around her, kissing the top of her head lightly. ‘’Well, I am glad to say that I’m happy to meet you, Jana. I’ve been seeing good things lately!’’ Robin says, she’s so perky. Its nice to have some one actually want to talk to me, nicely and not.. meanly, ya know.
I smile at her as she gets her questions ready on the cards she has in her hands. ‘’Okay, so while I was on the plane, I planned some questions to ask you guys.’’ She says as she looks at the first card. ‘’So, Niall, how do you like being a new dad?’’ She asks, raising her eyebrows as she waits for him to answer.
‘’Its.. amazing.’’ He says, smiling a little. ‘’What’s your favorite part so far?’’ She asks. ‘’Well, I dunno really. I love it all… but I guess singing him to sleep. I would sing Tori to sleep first, then him.’’ Niall admits.
‘’That’s adorable. Is it hard being a father to two young children?’’ Robin asks, seriously. She isn’t laughing as she asks these questions, she wants to know. ‘’Its hard.. at times.’’ He shrugs lightly. ‘’Can you tell us.. when?’’ She asks, I could tell she was curious to know these things about us.
‘’Well.. when Tori gets a little jealous.. I would be holding the baby, trying to get him to sleep, and she’d try to get in my lap. I know she.. thinks its okay.. and I don’t want to mean, its hard to tell her no sometimes.’’ He says as he glances over at me. I honestly didn’t know he felt that way about that.
‘’How’s the bonding going? Are you getting much time with the baby?’’ She asks him. ‘’Yeah.. Jana nurses herself, so its hard to be able to feed him. But sometimes I get to, out of the bottle. And I talk to him.. when I do. And just being about to hold him and cuddle on the couch.. its amazing.’’ He smiles, laughing some as Robin makes ‘aw’ noises at the cute stories of Niall’s bonding.
‘’So, do you have any time to spend with Tori now that the baby’s here?’’ ‘’Yeah, most of the time. When Jana’s feeding him, I usually go check up on her, and she forces me to play with her. We watch TV together a lot.. and like I said before, bedtime.. its crazy to realize how much I adore them.’’ He smiles as Tori holds on his fingers, gripping them tight.
‘’I was wondering.. Jana, if I could ask you some questions?’’ She asks me. ‘’Sure, go ahead.’’ I nod a little as I glance down at Taylor, making sure he’s still okay while he’s sleeping. “How’s being a mom to a new little baby going?’’ She asks me, smiling and ready to hear from me. ‘’its nice, I love having little babies.’’ I say as I look down at Taylor. ‘’Any more kids? Or are you guys done for good?’’ She asks laughing.
‘’We’re not done just yet.’’ Niall blurts before I could open my mouth. ‘’We want to wait.. until Taylor’s older. So we don’t have so much on our hands at once.’’ Niall corrects his outburst as he smiles over at me.
‘’So, Jana. What’s one thing your lucky to have back after being pregnant?’’ she asks me. ‘’She’s glad to be have her belly button ring, trust me. That’s all I’ve heard. Oh my god, I’m so happy! My stomach looks so much better with a ring in!’’ Niall mocks me as he laughs lightly.‘’I do, I missed it.’’ I say as I touch my stomach lightly, thanking my belly button ring.
“I know that you’ve always.. received.. hurtful comments from Niall’s fans.. do you still get the same treatment, especially since the baby’s here?’’ She asks. Its good to know that some one cares about me, too.
‘’I’ve gotten used to.. reading them. But at times, they hurt.. so bad. And… some of the girls lust over Taylor.. some of them.. say mean things.’’ I sigh lightly as I feel Niall’s hand gently rub my knee, trying to comfort me.
‘’How does it make you feel?’’ She asks me, rolling in her lips as she listens clearly and fully to what I have to say. ‘’They used to not bother me so much.. at times of course I would cry.. no matter.. where I was. It all depends on what it says.. and how they say it. And I saw one.. just the other day.. about Taylor and me. It was horrible, I couldn’t bare it.. I had to.. I guess, cry. And I did that.’’ I confess.
‘’Do you ever.. talk to Niall about those things?’’ Robin says. ‘’Yeah.. some times.’’ I sigh. ‘’Niall.. how does the girls’ comments.. about your family.. make you feel?’’ She asks him. I hear him gulp lightly as he begins to answer.
‘’Well, it hurts me more. Because, you’d think.. since they love me so much.. that they would.. ya know, treat the ones I love better than they do. All of them were so happy when my nephew came along and I’d post pictures of me and him.. they’d say wonderful things.. but they don’t do that with my own kids. If I post a picture of me and Tori and the baby.. all Hell breaks loose.’’ He says, his voice shaky. It’s a hard topic for him..
‘’I understand..’’ She whispers, smiling a little. From the corner of my eye, I see Niall’s eyes beginning to water. ‘’I’ll tell you something, Robin.’’ He says, sighing a little. ‘’If those girls.. knew.. how much.. it hurts me, and the guys too.. then maybe.. they would stop. It makes me wonder.. how do they treat the ones they love? How do they.. cope with.. things they don’t like at their own homes? What happened to.. being nice to be. A little kindness… can go so far.’’ He finishes off the sentence in a whisper, heartbroken at the hate we get all the time.
Before I could even respond in any way, he made Tori get off his lap as he stood up and walked away. ‘’Ni..’’ I turn around in the chair to see him walking to the bathroom. I close my eyes and sigh as I turn back around. Tori climbs into his chair and looks at Robin.
‘’My Daddy cries all the time.’’ She tells her. ‘’Tori..’’ I sigh, not sure what she’s talking about. ‘’What do you mean, sweetie?’’ Robin asks, confused as she glances over at me. ‘’He cries ‘cus those girls are mean. He told me..’’ She says as she plays with her fingers.
~Later That Day~
Niall’s POV
“Shh… Tay.. don’t cry..’’ I whisper as I hold him tight against my chest, but gently. ‘’Niall, can you put him in the crib when he goes to sleep, please?’’ Jana asks as she walks past me, putting up clean clothes in his clothes. ‘’Okay, babe.’’ I sigh.
Once Taylor’s finally asleep, I go to our room and put him in the crib. Jana made me move it into our room, just incase. She said we could move it back in a few months. I think its fine either way. I wake up easily, and screaming can wake any one..
I would do anything to keep them happy, and if having a baby crib in our bedroom keeps Jana happy, then damn.. that’s fine to me.
I know Tori’s in her room watching some movie. She told me not to bother her because it was one of her favorites, so I said I would only peep in to check up on her, that’s it. And she totally fine with that idea of mine.
Jana went back downstairs, I assume. She’s been working her ass off lately around the house. Washing dishes all the time, getting them out the dishwasher and putting them away, I usually do that though. She’s been doing a lot of laundry, which I usually do too. She even puts them away with out asking me to help.
I wonder if she’s just trying to distract herself. I don’t know, I guess she’s okay though..
