Chapter 13: Relieved
Jana’s POV
“Ni.. can we.. talk?’’ I mumble as I sit on the edge of the bed beside him as he lies under the covers. ‘’Yeah, what is it?” He asks, grabbing my hand and holding it tight.
‘’Why.. were you.. mad at me… you didn’t.. speak to me.. but when you did.. you were so.. damn.. mean… and bitchy.’’ I say, my sentence coming out patchy because I’m nervous.
‘’I’m just.. upset because..’’ He stops as he lets my hand go and sits up in the bed. ‘’I was.. arguing with my mom.. that mornin’.. she had called me and was.. getting me pissed off.. I’m.. I’m sorry, Jana.. that I.. Gave all my anger upon you. I didn’t.. try to. I wanted to talk to you, but I was too.. ashamed.’’ He mumbles, staring in my eyes. I know he’s not lying.. he wouldn’t lie.
“But me and my mom were.. on good terms a few days ago, I was just.. still mad.. and I didn’t want to hurt you any more than I already had.’’ He adds with a sigh, smiling gently as he must have realized that that had calmed me down so much.
I could finally breathe without having a lump in my throat, or getting choked up. I was very relieved now.
