Chapter 12: Excitement
Niall’s POV
“So you do want to know.. what the baby is?’’ Jana asks me as I lean back, trying not to go to fast so soon, since we currently just began talking to each other again. ‘’Yeah.’’ I smile gently as she grabs her phone.
I watch as she dials the number. I remove my arm from around her. But before I could even do any thing, she grabs my hand and squeezes it tight.. but that’s what I was going to do anyways, so it didn’t bother me one little bit.
‘’Hello? Dr. Braswell?.. Yes.. this is Jana.’’ She sighs in relief as she lets my hand go. I lay my hand on her knee, I know she likes that a lot. She puts the phone on speaker. ‘’So you would love to know the sex of the baby?’’ He says. ‘’Yes.. please.’’ Jana smiles at the phone. ‘’Okay. Jana.. you’re having.. a.. baby.. boy.’’
Jana’s smile brightens up and she hangs up the phone excitedly. ‘’Oh my god!” She squeals as she looks down at her stomach, putting both hands on our little baby. ‘’We’re having.. a boy.’’ I whisper as I add my hand beside her’s.
Jana smiles as she stares at me, her eyes watering with tears of joy, I hope. ‘’We… have to think.. of names.’’ She whispers with a smile as she laughs lightly at the unbelievable moment we just had.
‘’We can do the baby shower much easier now, can’t we?’’ I ask, smiling. ‘’The baby shower! Oh shit Niall! I totally forgot!’’ She whines, covering her face and sighing loud into her hands.
‘’Its okay, love. I’ll tell everyone-‘’ She cuts me off by looking over at me, ‘’Just your parents and your brother and the guys.. and my.. parents.’’ She hesitates to say that word. I nod and she nods back as she slides the lap top in front of me on the table.
‘’Look for things for the baby shower, I gotta go call Sophia and Pez.’’ She demands as she tosses a notebook in my lap too. I look at the whole almost three pages, front and back, full of stuff.
Some of its for the baby shower, some for the baby, but still all one big headache…

“Um.. hi.. Mom.’’ I mumble, not wanting to say the words, but I had to. I agreed to let her be a part of my life, so this is want comes with that choice. ‘’Hey Jana.’’ She says, I can tell she’s happy to hear from me. She’s in Chicago. My dad’s in Texas, a little closer to me than before..
‘’I wanted to tell you that I found out what I was having.’’ I say, a light smile spreading across my face as I hear her gasp on the other end. ‘’What! What are you having!’’ She says excitedly. ‘’A boy.’’ I whisper the words as if they were so secretive.
‘’Oh my!’’ She says, I know she’s smiling now. ‘’Have you told your father?’’ She asks. ‘’Yeah. I just did.’’ I say, sighing lightly. ‘’Oh.. I’m so happy for you honey! When’s the baby shower? Have you and Niall figured out a date for it yet?’’ She asks me.
‘’Oh yes, it’s the eleventh, have you gotten your plane ticket in the mail yet?’’ I ask her. ‘’Yep. I was just making sure the date was the same. And I also got my hotel reservations too.’’ She tells me. ‘’Okay, good.’’ I say before saying goodbye to her.. and hanging up.
