Harry's Diary

“Lou,” Louis says. “What’s wrong?”

I purse my lips together. Crap, I shouldn't have told Louis that “thing” about my eyes! I should’ve known he’d try to read me.

“Oh, it’s nothing,” I say, avoiding his gaze.

Louis puts his hand on my shoulder. I look up and see his eyes reflecting worry. He doesn’t believe me.

“It’s about Harry, isn't it?” he asks. “Did something happen?”

“Oh, it’s nothing serious,” I reply. “It’s just that Harry…”

I trail off. Louis deserves to know the truth, but I can’t just break the promise I have sworn to keep. I try to think of something… anything. Suddenly, I remember that Harry doesn’t usually take naps unless he doesn't feel well.

“Harry may have come down with something. I mean, it’s not like him to nap, right?” Louis looks at me skeptically, but nods.

“Makes sense.”

I smile, then see Taylor heading towards the door. I rush to the door, remembering that there’s a pile of Harry’s hair in the kitchen.

“Hey Taylor, are you hungry?”

“Oh no,” Taylor smiles, shaking her head. “I’m not hungry, but Niall is.”

Ah, Niall. Mr. Foodaholic. I reach for the doorknob.

“What does he want?” I ask Taylor. “I’ll cook it for him or something.”

“Oh, he just said he wants some of the leftover pizza in the freezer.”

“Ayt, then, I’ll get it!” I exclaim, opening the door. “Y’all just stay here.”

I go to the dining room and turn to close the door, but Taylor has beat me to it. She stands, leaning on the door with her arms folded.

“Louisyn,” she says softly. “It’s not just a sickness, is it? Tell me the truth. What happened to Harry?”
