Secrets and Suspicions
My heart was pounding. Fast. Like it just had Twelve Monsters and a Red Bull. I let my eyes close shut. I could feel him coming closer.
"Hunny, I'm home!"
My eyes snap open and they meet Louis wide eyes just a second before he falls off the couch.
"Ow!"
Alex walks into the room with a puzzled face. I feel the heat rise to my cheeks. Louis sits up rubbing his head.
"Whats going on? Where's the other's?" Alex asks, sitting in the recliner.
"Out to lunch." Louis says in a daze.
He sits on the right side of the couch, while I sit on the left. We glance at eachother but quickly look away. We both move a little bit away from eachother. Alex notices.
"What's going on between you two?" He asks.
"Nothing." We both reply, a little too fast.
"Okay then. Why aren't you too sitting next to eachother? You two always are all cuddley." He states.
Louis and I glance at eachother before scooting closer. He drapes his arm over my shoulders and I lay my head on his shoulder. My heart is beating rapidly, I'm pretty sure Alex could hear it.
"Is this what you wanted?" Louis says in a whisper.
"Perfect." Alex gets up and walks out of the room, Leaving me and Louis sitting in uncomfortable silence.
We both seem to be lost in thought. After a couple of minutes in silence the phone rings.
"I'll get it." I say as I get up and grab the home phone.
"Hello?"
"Hello, Is Angie there?" (I don't know if I gave her mom a name so...)
"Um, no she isn't. She is at work, Your speaking to her daughter."
"Oh. Well, I really need to speak to her."
"I can call her and tell her to call you. Can I get a name?"
"Damon Wate"
"Okay thanks, Goodbye."
I end the call and dial my mom's work number.
"Hello."
"Hi, Is Angie Cavanaugh there?"
"Um, No she is not. She was fired quite a while ago."
"What? No, How long has she been fired." I turn and look at Louis. Him hearing what I said and seeing the puzzled look on my face, He got up and stood by me. He put his head by mine listening to the woman on the other line.
"About a month now."
"Hunny, I'm home!"
